  1. As a single chapter is not that bad, well if you compare it with the rest of the second cour that is. But as a final chapter is really, really awful it feels too rushed, there is no real conclusion. Probably the only positive thing is the "resolution of the triangle" and still Freyja is going to die in less than 15 years as she is already having signs of Windermerean premature death.

There is no conclusion of Epsilon and what they surely stole of technology from the Sigur Valens, and Windermere is still in war with NUNS.

Also there is some words about this having a movie to wrap up things? or is going to leave those loose ends?

  2. Just end this series in a nice note and we can wrap up things somewhat nicely.

I really, really hope that the last chapters made for this awful 2nd cour and we can at least end the series nicely... btw we are just in time to get a good gift in the 35th anniversary, so why not make a remake of SDF Macross based in Macross the First?. Well a man can dream.

About the chapter... well we now that Xaos is awful in "surgical ops" and "infiltration", so why they try it again?, they have failed every time in the series. And this time was no exception...

Animation wise they are trying to make everything cheap. I mean, I hope is for some very good animation and CG in the final chapters... again I can dream.

Also all of this makes me think about what I was saying in the spanish-speaking forums... why don't give a Sunrise treatment to the Macross franchise? And then make a lot of Macross series, like with Gundam... at least that way we can get something nice every some years. Delta just make the excuse of "uniqueness" of Macross productions fall flat, at least from my POV...

Well just my 0.02 cents and bitter rant :(

  3. I'm trying really hard to be positive here but this series has taken a nose dive in the second half.

There is so little focus on it's main characters that I do not understand what the writing team wants to do with it. Triangle anyone? Heck, Hayate, Freyja or Mirage getting more than a couple of lines? I don't care about Makina or Keith. They could be props in the story for all I care. The background of Walkure is meaningless at this point. No mecha action, no romance drama to speak off and even the music is meh with the exception of the odd song.

Sorry about the small rant but I expect more of my Macross.

    Well...

I have the same felling, right now I almost dropped the series I only come to the forums to read spoilers and see if there is something good in every new chapter but there is nothing good since the chapter 15, this Macross is going really bad and even with a fantastic end this 2nd half is going to be remembered for its slow pace

  4. There's still some online store that will still have stocks in the future. This is just one of the 5 Valks that they're going to release. So one way or another, you will still get yours. And I have a feeling that PO'ing Chuck's Valk is just a breeze compared to Hayate's. Peace! ;)

I think the same, somehow I feel that Chuck's VF-31E is going to be easier to get compared to Hayate or Messer... But somehow I have the felling that the VF-31A is going to be a real pain to get even compared to Hayate XD

  5. Does this actually happen? I've never noticed this.

Yup I remember someplace having some more YF-30's a day after the PO... If my memory serves right it was in CdJapan.

  6. I completed my order on HLJ, but it did not send the confirmation email, I guess I am out of luck on this one

If you still pass through you need to wait some minutes for the confirmation email, for me it was something like 7 to 10 minutes to get the email.

  7. Got my order confirmation.

Hopefully I don't hear anything from hlj staff.

At one point, hlj said I had 100 in my cart.

It ain't over till the fat lady sings right?

Yup, but at this moment this is better than nothing. (At least today I got a confirmation email... not like what happened with the YF-30 PO night)

  8. Btw also CdJapan went in a snap... I got one in the cart meanwhile I was waiting for HLJ, but only in the cart D:

HLJ said that they accepted my order but I don't have an e-mail confirmation and it's not processed in my warehouse either. Should I be worried? :(

    Same here

  9. Oh yeah, and...

Not crazy about the new OP, but hopefully it'll grow on me. Loving the new ending, though

Regarding the new opening, it seems to be generic, and didn't do a lot of foreshadowing at first glance compared to Mac F.

But I suppose it is a bit too early to tell.

Well the new OP sure is a let down, it seems so flat, generic.... mmm don't know which word can be the best to describe how it feels, but surely, it does not feel right. In the other hand the new ED is awesome animation and performance wise.

    And for the chapter:

I need subs to get more of the info here, but it was nice to see the VF-22 and Sv-154 in action... hope is a foreshadowing of Bandai doing those two DX :D

  10. The V1's look overly fat from the side view in fighter. I think the VF-25G will stick out imo, the others will have a slim and sexy appearance

Is going to be ok, all of the others are going to be in battroid XD, also the finish is much better than what can I achieve modeling. Also the peso is falling down harder with the Brexit and without a lot of money to spend (nor permanent job D:) is my best path to go :p

  11. Are the 1/72 models a viable alternative?

If you are into modeling and just want to display them in fighter mode, I'll go for the V1 instead of the model. In fact I just got my third Valk and I will probably buy more but with price of the VF-25G, I will search it as a V1 just to display it in fighter mode with the other V2's.

Sincerely models from Frontier were awful to transform and if you want a good finish you need experience and patience, I like modeling but the more I have did for my gundams is panel lining and putting stickers. But you can hope for GiMiX to do a remake of the 25's but I think that their 31's are 1/144 like the HG's.

  12. Elysion details:

In cruiser mode, there's a flight deck section from the legs that lines up with the arms. Not that they really need the entire "runway" to take off in space. But it possibly increases the number of available catapults and thus the launch tempo. It might make it easier to do simultaneous launch and recovery, but that's a lot of small craft flying along the same vector.

And since I ended up on top of a page, here's a picture of Brera's VF-27 with the NUNS insignia clearly visible:

    0TEKSE3.jpg

Yeah good point I only remembered the Galaxy logo in the 27 XD, still a new repaint and better shoulder joints are welcome :p

  13. OK, sittin' down to watch this one now...

OK, am I the only one getting really sick of Windermere winning every fight they start offscreen and apparently without any significant resistance?

The first time it happened, it was impressive and threatening... now it's just starting to feel like the result of some seriously lazy writing. I mean, the entire New UN Spacy Al Shahal garrison got off one ineffectual shot at the Sigur Valens and its supporting fleet and were under mind control within the space of a minute! The whole mess, which can't be dignified with the term "battle", can't have taken more than five minutes of in-story time. Windermere conquered Al Shahal offscreen in less time than it takes to boil an egg. That complete prat Messer was able to resist the effects of Var syndrome and the Song of the Wind on multiple occasions, and in the end he was still able to make it for him against the enemy. If he can do that, why can't anyone in the New UN Spacy? Messer wasn't a special snowflake with a fold receptor factor or anything of that nature. He was just incredibly stubborn and disciplined... y'know, like the professional soldiers the NUNS are.

Kaos and Walkure staging a comeback from this nonsense is going to damned near impossible to present plausibly. They're up against the New UN Spacy forces from a dozen planets, when they apparently have one ship and maybe a dozen fighters. I could understand and excuse SMS being able to protect Macross Frontier from the Vajra with a few squadrons of the latest fighter because the Vajra demonstrably were not interested in destroying the fleet or doing anything besides rescuing what they thought was one of them (actually Ranka) for most of the series and the NUNS forces eventually stepped up and started kicking ass too. You're not gonna plausibly retake an entire mind-controlled star cluster with one ship and a dozen military washouts.

We get any more weaksauce like this, and I might just go off this series. It started strong, but it's started to get that same Macross 7 feel with too much episode left at the end of the story.

All that disgust and I haven't even gotten past the opening yet!

At least someone managed to get a good scan of the Sigur Valens before getting their arse kicked. No surprises about its capabilities though, it's built around the same bag of tricks the Protoculture copied from the Vajra in the Birdman and Evil-series. Sigur Valens is powered by a fold reactor, so it's basically got infinite fuel as generates power through fold dimensional energy conversion. That means it's probably something developed after the Schism War ended and the conflict with the Protodeviln ended, which means it's likely not actually a battleship.

Oh yay, let's have a good chunk of the episode devoting to upending a dustbin full of reiterated expository dialogue into the audience's face...

Mirage got promoted? Good for her... I wish I could say she got it on merit rather than to fill a rank gap on the roster. She hasn't really improved her piloting skills yet, so and even Messer thought she was a less able pilot than Chuck, so why didn't they promote Chuck instead? Is there some kind of rule that Delta Platoon's second in command must have a stick up their ass to counterbalance Arad's easygoing attitude?

Roid, I see, is still the only one who gives a toss about Heinz's health and happiness. If that guy keeps sticking his neck out, Keith or Gramia is likely to stick a knife in his back.

They picked a really flattering screen capture from Gramia's speech to make his file photo... I'm amazed the crew of the Elysion have refrained from turning it into a meme.

Huh... that's first sound bit of tactics we've seen the New UN Spacy exercise in this series. "The completely uninhabited ruins are the root of this problem, so let's just blow them up and knock off for lunch." The ruins might draw power from the planet's core, but if you take the ruins out of the picture then life should be dandy. Heinz can't transmit his song everywhere, and Gramia can't establish his Starwind Sector. The way he's drawn, we're clearly supposed to hate this guy, but he's the only one in this show who seems to have any actual interest in preventing Windermere from carrying out its plans. Lady M is off doing who-knows-what and apparently is too busy being mysterious to care what happens to the Brisingr star cluster so the NUNS is taking a well-thought-out preventative action. Good on them to avoid Windermere's apparent mistake by using an ordinary reaction weapon instead of a dimension weapon.

(Johnson's got a swanky office tho... makes Global's quarters on the SDF-1 Macross look positively humble.)

... ... ... has every scene on Windermere except the Aerial Knights hangar taken place aboard the Sigur Valens? Heinz's song room is apparently there, and now the king's bedroom too? How extensively did they remodel that ancient ship?

... and Lady M talked the NUNS into pulling the plug on a plan much better and more sensible than hers. Way to go. At this rate, you'd suspect she's on Gramia's side.

Hayate got his fold quartz pendant from his dad, and cue some minor romance drama between Freyja and Mirage.

Ah, they're finally launching the Elysion instead of just one of the arms. Flying that low over town seems kind of dangerous, especially considering those engines are spraying fusion plasma all over hell's half acre. I'm amazed they didn't burn the town down. My goodness that's a cluttered design though. It's even busier than the Macross Quarter-class. I know a spaceship doesn't have to be streamlined, but has so much extraneous surface detail that it brings to mind some of the worst artistic offenses of the Transformers comics, where every character had to be covered with eleventy billion panel lines, hairline cracks, chips, and nicks.

FINALLY! A look at a full hangar on the Aether. Still surprisingly light on fighter count. The Macross Elysion may only be carrying forty or so total fighters between the Aether and Hemera. That barely makes it an escort carrier by Macross's standards. Maybe that's why the New UN Spacy doesn't mind so much... it's a Macross all right, but it's hovering somewhere between being a cruiser and an escort carrier rather than a full-fledged carrier like the Macross Quarter-class or a supercarrier battleship like the Macross-class or Battle-class.

... and Gramia trolls Kaos again. I'm starting to think our protagonists might be Lawful Stupid. They're not gaining ground, or even holding ground. They're perpetually a day late and a dollar short. Gramia could fax them a copy of the Sigur Valens' flight plan and they'd still find a way to narrowly miss it.

This is going to be my first negative vote for this series. Try another condiment, Kawamori-san, because this weaksauce ain't workin.

    Basically this, also...

I implore to Kawamori not to use the cliche of an angry windermerean switching sides, that will laughable at the best. Still you know why we have this mess? Is because the same Kawamori and his "pacifism", that is why they are using the old mind control plot, this way they don't need to portray a real war an just troll us with the "war".

Also the NUNS in Ragna seems to be the only one with common sense and make something some steps ahead Windermere, but again is the big military and Kawamori is going to portray them as the baddies... but oh well I hope that something change in the next chapters, even if I know that is not going to happen.

Just give me some 25's and 27's with NUNS markings to secure them as DX releases down the road

  14. Welp I saw this when it comes live, but I just pulled the trigger in a YF-29 30th + Super Parts and a VF-171 (Alto) for almost 30,000 the combo. I was thinking in getting some Arcadia VF's and that was a really good price sadly I didn't get enough money. So I ask, this kind of sales from HLJ are relatively normal??

  15. Update time about HLJ and May pre-orders, just asked some days ago and I received this message:
