What bothers me more about the new trilogy, is that I understood from the OT, PT and the animated series, that there were no more force wielding people, however now we get Snoke at the helm of First Order, and the so-called Knights of Ren, and never get any hints as to where they came from. 

 

Not to mention they don't explain how Leia had force powers too, but all that is explained in the EU books.  The Jedi Academy trilogy and especially I, Jedi, are good reads.

That is exactly my conclusion, it was a decent sci-fi movie but a horrible Star Wars movie.

That is exactly the problem with the world now, if you don’t agree with their views you’re a racist or sexist.  I get the same Spiel from people and I’m also Asian!

Rose was an horrendously written character and nothing about her makes sense.  She goes from being part of the support crew to spec ops level operative to combat pilot...She’s not the only crap part about the movie, but a big reason why I hate TLJ.  If you cut her and Finn (they also ruined his character) out of the movie entirely, nothing is lost from the story.

I’m keeping an open mind about Ep. 9 and hope they can save this trilogy.

The Bandai VF-19 transformation is truly joyless as you say.  Like you, I found the figure just inherently unpleasant to handle, and getting everything lined up and pegged in appropriately is a augean task.  My VF-19 Advance has been changed to battloid mode two or three times total, and not at all in the current year.  Ever since the last time I tortured myself, it remains in jet mode.  When I want to transform a 19, I haul out my Arcadia YF-19, because the transformation, while complicated, isn't the clustermess the Bandai version is.

Like you, I waited 20 years for a 19.  The day the VF-19 Advance got here was an extremely happy one.  If you haven't already, I highly recommend watching a transformation video on YouTube, because I've found fan made transformation videos universally superior to modern included instructions for transformable toys.

 

The VF-19 advance was my first Macross toy since the 1/48 yammies and what started my collecting again, but man was it a frustrating thing to transform.  I could never get the wings to tab back into fighter properly and just left it in battroid mode.  Eventually less than year later I sold it.   Here’s hoping I have more fun with the YF-19.

Oh that sucks, NY hasn’t updated the release date, and you’d think Sentinel would have fixed whatever issues from the first release and release on time.  

Back to the shipping topic, I’m assuming shipping is just as expensive in the States, I can’t figure out why else most members only ship to the continental US and not worldwide.

Canada has some of the most uncompetitive shipping rates on the planet, and you don't have to believe me, you can go on their website (maintained by untrained monkeys) and see for yourselves. If anything, I encourage you to complain; God knows I have.

 I used to ship regular Air Mail, but in the past few years the number of "lost" parcels has skyrocketed, so with fellow MWers I offer the option of trackable/untrackable because the price difference is notable. I can't do that on eBay though, because there are too many scammers and it would be very easy for someone to say they never received their parcel and leave bad feedback or demand a refund, even if the item technically did arrive.

I can second that.  Canada in general has the most uncompetitive prices for just about anything and everything, cell phone plans, internet/tv packages, gas, etc...

Does anybody know if Sentinel is on schedule with the reissue Stick?  Just wondering if I should pay for my preorders now or spend on something else since the originals were delayed a fair bit.

Maybe they're trying to screw over people now since they couldn't fleece people with the whole VF-31A debacle.  I've never seen them raise prices on a pre-order before.

Got to step 5 at NY and then said item is not available and now maintenance page....oh well, got one at Amiami too.

I think YMMV on the 31 legs.  My 31F legs are pretty loose, 31C not so bad, and 31A are pretty solid.  I haven't opened my Kai yet so not sure about that guy.

Not sure if I speak for many, but NY declares lower value on their packages so that I don’t end up paying an additional 40-50$ In Canadian duties and taxes.  HLJ and Amiami, while both having better customer service, end up costing me about 60$ more because they declare full value.

I had the opposite result.  My Stig has almost no QC issues but on my Ray, the ankle and shoulder pieces would pop off constantly at the slightest touch, ball joint on the right thigh armor doesn't stay pegged in very well and pops off easily, the visor doesn't *click* in properly and there's a slight gap, the shoulder armor in combined mode is way too loose, etc...but overall, still love both of these toys, so much that I ordered two rerelease Stigs and 1 more Ray.

Are you still on with this garbage?  Let’s recap.  People who hated Rose, an Asian female, are racists.  I’m an Asian male that despises her, not because she’s Asian, but because her character sucks and had no business being in the movie.  So wait, that must mean I’m mysogynistic.  I think it’s safe to assume 99.9% of fans that like the original trilogy also loved Princess Leia as a strong female lead, me being one of them.  Most of these fans also like Amidala, Rey, and Jyn Erso as strong female leads.   So that must mean I’m doubling down on white supremacy...you’ll have to rip the confederate flag from my dead body before you’ll ever make me watch another Star Wars movie!

The same week Stig was released he almost doubled in price too and that's not just scalpers, NY almost doubled the price with None sale PO of him.

That Sentinel have opted to rerelease them both Is a Great sign for fans and collectors who missed out, not sure if to PO or not. Plenty of reviews exist now for everyone to have an idea what they going to get.

Personally I love them. Just hope the Re-released versions come with the H90 pistols too. They should have been in the packages first time round IMHO.

This.  On Ebay, A used Beagle Ray is going for 550$ and a new Beagle Stick is 725$!  Hopefully sentinel have  also fixed some of the minor QC issues to take this toy from great to awesome.  Still, it’s my favourite toy of the year so far.

Is it racist if I’m Asian and I hate Rose with a passion?  The character was completely unnecessary to the movie except as you pointed out, a filler role.  The entire story around her doesn’t make sense.  Within the matter of 2-3 days, she somehow heard of Finns heroics, falls in love with the guy, and is willing to sacrifice her life to save his.  Never mind the fact she is only a mechanic and somehow is dashing across the universe, saving animals, sneaking onto star destroyers, and able to pilot a speeder with such skill at the end of the movie.  The fact that the character was annoying as crap doesn’t help either.  

Whether you want to call it SJW bullshit or whatever you do, Kathleen Kennedy and Rian Johnson were pushing a social agenda in that movie, and agree with it or not, that kind of crap has no place in a movie.

Just got mine today and I have to say it’s actually pretty awesome.  This is my first ride armor and I’ve been kicking myself for not getting a Toynami or Beagle when they first came out.  Transformation to armor mode was pretty simple considering what I’ve read about nightmare transformations here.  Yes, there are some bits that come off here and there and a few things that don’t tab in tight, but nothing major that detracts from the toy.  Really happy I got it and will be keeping my second preorder with BBTS.
