YUPS I've had these preordered since I first heard about them. They just got released on the April 29 (yesterday in Japan) so I'm anxious to see reviews on these.

StarScream looks pretty good. I'll definitely be getting one MasterPiece or not. Smaller Prime/Convoy on the other hand, I will skip since I've pretty much had my Prime fix with the MPC.

I got mine immediately after updating my order (after logging on to "my account"), and I did that an hour and half ago.

Are you guys sure you followed the email's instructions and updated your "order history"?

No surprise here but TokyoCentral is already sold out... I guess almost everyone who pre-ordered still went through with getting theirs anyways.

I received the e-mail from TokyoCentral and it seems that they are honoring their original pre-order price of $19.50 USD for those who preordered in December, so I went ahead and got me another one. I already had one coming from HLJ (lucked out when TC cancelled me the first time) so I'm pretty satisfied because I can now do a custom Asuka like what that guy did in the that pic.

I really want one too...BAD.

Hey rikiryou or anyone, does anyone know if this figure has been released yet? Its just strange that I see all these pics of the toy being displayed seemingly at some dude's house... Any idea who the manufacturer is? Is it Konami JP?

Thanks for the info rikiryou. I'm relieved that this isn't the limited edition game figure...

Now I just have to find out who makes this and where to get it. I know next to nothing about the game or the storyline behind this character but who can resist this armed to the teeth cutesy.

Really, US toy companies should learn from the Japanese about articulation....

Can somebody tell me what the Takara box is like?  Once you remove the toy from the package, is it possible to put it back in without much fuss (like the Yamatos) or is is covered in twist-ties like the Hasbro version?

I'm a big believer in taking toys out of the box, but it's really nice when they can go back in.

The Takara box is similar to the box of a Gundam Model kit and IIRC, no twist ties, only a a few parts taped so you can restore your MPC without much hassle.

Nah, not for release. Old school marketing ploy reminiscent of the 80s--- Only 20 will be made by Takara and the only way to get one is by collecting 20 points from the packages of the toys shown on that pic and then mailing them in just to put in your entry for the drawing--- so the title "lucky draw golden lagoon" version MPC (gotta love those Japanese kooky tiltles ).

MMM Turn A Gundam---Yeah, its got titanium but why couldn't Bandai use it for the damned shoulders!?!?! The only toy I'm afraid to touch or even look at....

I wonder what color that transparent sphere is gonna be for this limited edition MPC?

What a coinkydink---I just got done composing Cruel thesis from NGE into my new cell phone! So yeah my fave is Cruel Thesis---the piano instrumentals used in the original last episodes.

P.S.: Is 129.99$U.S. a fair price for a 1/48 VF-1J Super Valkyrie (Hikaru)?

Are you sure its a Super VF-1J?....sounds to me that its only the 1/48 1J without FPs....

Otherwise that's an awesome deal...

Thanks GD! Nah... no painting or retouching of parts yet. I think it was because I took the shots under warm flourescent lighting; while removing the yellow cast I accidentally bleached some of the original hues out of the toy. :-)

Your little accident has actually inspired me to actually paint the hands on mine...maybe silver, maybe black. The purple hands just seem so out of place in contrast to the chrome. Time to go get some spray paint and Gundam markers.

I've been lurking since Summer of 2001. I remember the days of waiting for Toycom/Yamato to bring salvation to all US Macross toy-starved fans everywhere.

I actually started posting in 2002 when the Toynami bashing and the RT.com vs MW wars were at their peak. Now I'm pretty much back to my lurking mode but still post once in a while. I'm a toy freak so I'll only post on those subjects (not in the Mac toys section though) since I've pretty much seen errrrr read them all.

Nope? No Jets for Alt/Binaltech.... just repaints with slight mods to existing car designs.

....here's one of the [cyclone-inspired] bike armor. Also, keep in mind that the figures pictured are the smaller boxed trading figures and aren't the regular sized ones (see one of the big legs?). If anything I'm afraid that the bike maybe a bit undersized.

I really like the looks of the figs. Maybe its them shiny visors!!! Hoverboards be damned...I just won't display them.

Anyways, I'm surprised no one has mentioned anything about customizing one into a Hikaru (TV) fig.

By the looks of it, an anime series and then a vidogame. Even if the game and the anime blows, I like the designs of the figs and their add-ons.
