Finally had time to do the VF-1.

I actually went ahead and resized them to 1/350 scale already. I don't know how much detail the VF-4 loses in that scale but here's a picture of a my YF-21 in 1/350 scale with a quarter. Thanks for the support! I'm probably going to do the VF-1 next since its probably the most popular.

YF-21 I just like the resemblance to the YF-23 and F-22.

I pried out the cap pictured, undid the screw underneath and carefully twisted the two pieces apart at the pin.

It's easier to slide the leg off first and once unscrewed the lower leg falls off so you're just working with the thigh.

Seeing how it worked, I thought the best thing to do was to wear it down by exercising that joint a few times while it was apart.

It's still pretty tight, but will serve.

Ohh I didn't even notice the thing hiding the screw. How did you manage to pry that out? Where you able to do it with minimal damage?

So one of mine has a loose leg and always falls off. Is it safe to just glue that back in or does it need some freedom?

The second one had a stuck Gerwalk upper leg hinge and I had to unscrew it and wear down that joint. I think it's all good now.

You're welcome. So you're saying that the race where the YF-19 Fast Packs is not showing? Meaning you haven't accessed it yet or played the bronze reward somehow? From what I recall, some races just shows up whenever you finish certain levels or missions. OR sometimes when you go back from your current map area to the previous map and look around. Have you tried going back and look around that area?

Yes. I got all gold on the races for both Yue and Jurgen thinking that after I complete them I'll unlock more races. Do the missions only appear after certain mission then disappear? I don't know what you mean by looking around the area do you mean the races load to a different map sometimes?

Do I have to complete the previous races to unlock the race to unlock the YF19 Fast packs? I use the red shoulder translation guide and I know where to find the races but even when I'm in the last chapter of the game the Race to unlock the Fast pack doesn't show up on the lists of races.

Anybody know how to get the strike packs for the VF1 and the fast packs for the YF19? I know you're supposed to do a race for the YF19 fast packs but the particular race to unlock the parts don't show up for me.

Right now I'm only focusing on fighter modes cause it takes a short amount that of time to make. Maybe in the future.

They look great! Have you started painting them yet?

I tried painting them with acrylic and that didn't work out well lol. I'll try the full colored plastic material on shapeways once I get the textures done.

They have a full color plastic material now, but it might still be in beta. Look into it! Though, honestly, tiny parts have some bleed-through.

Yup it's one of the testing materials. It's really expensive but I will try it out anyway.

Anybody know what happened to the YF-21 Hi-Metal?

zomg - that's a totally affordable price - even if you figure out larger scales! I'd totally do a 1/72 scale set of parts to assemble and paint myself for ~30 or 40 bucks. And they look great as-is.

I don't know if I can scale up to that big. But the models themselves aren't super detailed so If I were to go bigger I would have to model something for more details. Thanks for the compliments!

hmm, not bad, too bad they aren't painted for that, or the seller didn't have them printable with textures like some do

Lol, I'm actually the seller and designer. I would texture these but Shapeways only do Sandstone in Color. For how thin a lot of the parts are in the model it won't print well in SandStone. Whenever Shapeways start doing plastic in color I would be on it.
