The thing that I like the most about macross plus was it wasent an big epic war but a small story about two test pilots that just feels epic. Also M+ is the only Macross series where I really felt like they were flying something special. You get a great sense of flight that the other Macross stuff doesnt have.

And I thought Macross II had great character designs, but poor animation. Ishtar and Silvia looked great, thou Ishtar did look way better with longer hair! MII would have been 100 times better if Silvia was the main character and CNN boy was just the background love interst.

Macross II isnt that great, it pretty boring really. But even thou it is hated I still dont understand why they never made toys for this anime, they make trading figures for hentai yet they cant made trading figure versions of the mecha?

All they really have to make is the Metal Siren and the VF-2SS in 1/48 scale. I'm sure both Japanese and American fans would buy two new Valks even if the show isen't well liked.

The VF-2SS is one of my fav Valks too.

It's a shame that all of M II didnt have the same level of animation as the opening. The VF-2SS looks awsome in the opening as it spins around and stuff!

Why is Macross 7 so hated? From reading the forums it seems like only a few folks like it.

And I just found out about Macross Zero, what is this about? Is it any good?

I'm happy with the old 2 DVDs, the Japanese track sounds good and while a 5.1 mix would have been nice I wont buy them again.

BTW, does anyone here have the Paul Champane Macross Plus 2-disc DVD case? What is the case made out of, and does it look nice? It looks nice on his site but you never know.

I have both of the three disc cases and they look just as nice as they do in the pics. I would definitely recommend either one or both of the cases...

I have a question, in Macross Plus both the VF-19 and VF-21 get canned for the Ghost X-9. Can the X-9 even transform into a giant mecha? And since I have not seen M7 did they keep using the X-9 after the Sharron Apple incident?

Macross II just model kits only VF-2SS.

This being the toy section maybe this isn't worth mentioning but there are more Macross II model kits out there then just the VF-2SS.

B-Club has done the VF-2JA (both Battroid and Fighter), the Gilgamesh, and the Metal Siren. Have a look here:

It's been a while since I've watched Macross II so I'm not sure what the "Red alien mecha" is you are refering to at the moment.

Thanks! The red alien mecha I was talking about was the "Gilgamesh" mecha. Nice to see that they at least made a model of it cause when I was searching I didnt come across anything Macross II related.

I saw Macross II and after seeing Macross Plus (loved that one!) I was really dissapointed about this OVA/movie. On the animeondvd site it said that it is a sequel to the original then said it's an alternate universe timeline. So what is it officially, is it cannon and come after the TV series? If so does it happen before or after Plus?

You mean to ask if it is CANON, not CANNON.

Macross II just model kits only VF-2SS. Macross Plus yes but out of print but you`ll find them at ebay with very high prices !
