  1. So that's it? Just a Scout Regult? Well, that was a huge disappointment. I'm happy for everyone else but I was really wishing for a new VF mold. Maybe next year...

As a person who has multiples of every HMR, I’m ok if the Regult Scout comes in a 2 pack with a VF-1S DYRL Roy or TV Roy if they decide to change it.  I’m down for more 2 packs if it means getting those releases that would be harder to sell on their own.

What's even the difference between DYRL Roy's VF-1S and TV Roy's? Just the pilot suit?

  3. Seems like Bandai has been going in anime production order with their VF releases so maybe the next new VF mold will be a VF-11 or maybe YF-19? I hope both of those figures Bandai finds a way to fold in the handle for their gunpods. I can excuse having to swap the canopy/heatshield for the VF-1 and the landing gears too, but I don't see why we have to plug in the gunpod handle every time. Surely Bandai could've found a way to make it collapse.

Tried that, every configuration possible. The back of the head seems to stick to much out for it to successfully go behind it

I know exactly what you're talking about. I own Hikaru's VF-1A and I had the same problem. The legs just won't push in behind the head because there isn't enough clearance due to the 1A's long head design. So what I do is tilt the nose slightly upward before pushing the legs behind the head. It gives just enough clearance to make it through. I think even the instructions mention this too.

If they did, they'd rerelease a bunch of stuff.  Why is Bandai taking so long to release the Tomahawk?  Did they decide to make a 1/48 DX like the yammie instead?

Didn't the Destroids sell poorly? Maybe Bandai cancelled it.

  6. Been a while since I've played with my VF-1A. Good to see the black paint still rubs off easily. The VF-1 looks cool with the missiles in Battroid mode although I wish Bandai made the micromissiles either a little smaller or moved the hard points a little more over towards the edges of the wings. Makes posing them in Battroid a little awkward. Really hoping Bandai announces their VF-0s soon. I like the VF-1 but the Phoenix was always cooler to me and plus it'd be great to not have to pull out the heat shield every time you want to transform to Battroid!

I treat everyone with respect and honesty.  But I don't kiss a$$.  So that's what you get.  I'm not here to kiss up to people, I am just participating in the hobby and that's it.  There's probably hundreds or thousands of people who own a lot of valks who won't post on here mainly because they don't want to get into this stuff.  I don't blame them.

Your recent posts have you bragging about your 'high end gaming PC' and getting two new job while casually insulting those with low paychecks and having children early. I make $250 a week and am barely getting by so spending $100+ on a toy is not something I can do on a whim but I saved up and bought my first Hi-Metal R VF-1A recently and I was happy with just that. But your constant bragging about being able to buy 10 Valkyries at a time, insulting people like me that are barely making a living, and trying to make yourself out as some kind of victim in this hobby really got on my nerves. You're not respectful at all, you're an arrogant ass.

Given how much Macross Delta was blatantly ripping off its vastly superior sibling Macross Frontier, I'd be far more inclined to suspect Macross's producers are interested in how they can distill Macross down to an easily reproducible formula so they can take a whack at Sunrise's mass production of sequels and trademark lack of innovation.

This is a little ironic coming from a huge Macross II fan like you.

I’d argue the VF-4 is the most popular of all the Valk designs.  I know lots of aircraft enthusiasts who aren’t Macross/Robotech fans, who know nothing of the show or care about transforming anything, who absolutely love the design.  The Fighter design seems near universally celebrated (Gerwalk and Battroid on the other hand...)

Considering how little fan art it has and it's only real animated appearance was in a 30 minute music video, I don't see how it could possibly be the most popular Valkyrie. I mean it's certainly more popular than some more obscure designs like the VF-14 and VF-3000 anyway...

  10. I can't believe a company like Bandai could make such a dumb mistake like this. It's not like Nexx and Hibiki have the same pilot suit and they just mixed up the colors, they actually molded Hibiki's pilot suit instead of Nexx's. This is a mistake I would expect a small company like Evolution Toys to make, not Bandai.

So Nexx's comes with Nexx and Hibiki figures? If they ever made the SNN valkyrie I'd flip. My Nexx is combined order with the ET Legioss Jota...will be a while before I see it.

I wish they'd do static ships in another line. Ghosts, fan racer, lancer 2, gnerl, other non-transforming fighters.

No, the top image is from the Evolution Toys figure. The Hi-Metal only comes with the one pilot figure.

Toynami could have fixed a lot of problems they have with their reputation by licensing the hmr line.  They could have even marketed it as a new “masterpiece” line.

I'd rather have Harmony Gold and Toynami never make another cent off the Macross license.

Is it that they were trying to be lighthearted? Mainly it just felt like they had plot points to get through, and screw trying to explain it, or have the characters react to it.

It felt like the main characters were on a ride visiting different displays, but not reacting to them, and without any given room on the ride affecting the next.

I remember watching G-Reco with a friend and we dropped it around episode 4. The dialog was just so weird and it was hard to follow what was happening. I remember this one scene where the main character is speaking with his mom with that girl in the same room and they're both having completely different conversations despite talking directly to one another? I was like "This is not how human beings speak. What the hell is going on...". I think Tomino has gone off the deep end in his old age but then again a lot of his older shows had really weird unnatural dialog too.
