  1. There are the G-bits from Gundam X that use the Flash system (I think that is what it was called, you need needed to be a Newtype though in order to activate the system and to control the G-bits). But unlike funnels and bits, the Gbits were actual mobile suits that were controlled by the newtype pilot. Similar to how mobile dolls were controlled by Dorthey in Wing I think.

Hummm, besides those. I'm thinking of things besides funnels or bits (or G-bits) that might be added to Nu-Freedom. From the way it looks, Nu Freedom might not have funnels. The plasma cannons in the wings are gone. From a previous pic, Nu-Freedom will have 2 beam rifles and the rail-guns, or at least part of them will stay. Or maybe it won't have have any Newtype weapon...Moonlight Butterfly-type?

Can't say for sure that there's no Bits/Funnels or wing-mounded Plasma Cannons.. and what were originally supposedly two beam rifles are now the hip-mounded railguns.

It likely still stores a beam rifle on its ass (but doesn't seem to have a shield anymore, suggesting those forearm doo-hickeys are energy shields in the same vein as Forbidden's system. Freedom's very existence is in violation of the Jachin Due treaty right down to its beam sabers, after all, so it's not like they could realistically be too squeamish about bringing that part of Mirage Colloid tech back..

Given they've thrown out atleast one solid suggestion that Kira is Newtype there's a good chance that Freedom will have some sort of newtype weapons system.

  2. Economically feasible? What does that mean? Are you saying Orb has a superior economy compared to ZAFT and EA because the latter two do not mass produce transformable MS? In other words, define the words economically feasible in the context of been able to produce transformable MS compared in relation to ZAFT and EA not mass producing them.

Transformable MS almost never reach mass production due to the costs of the extra mechanisms required for the transformation. Both manufacturing it, and supplying maintenance to it.

Orb, however, has a mass-produced transforming mobilesuit in addition to its Astray units. This suggests that they have superior manufacturing facilities that allow for the manufacture of transforming MS without excessive rises in costs per unit.

  3. For technology at start of each series:

    GS: Orb > PLANT (?) > Alliance

GSD: PLANT (?) > Orb = Alliance (consider this, if the trio of new Gundams weren't superior to everything else either in the field or existance (Freedom excepted), why would the Alliance steal them? The same argument applied to GS when the first four gundams were stolen)

That's iffy. Why? Because PLANT didn't implement beam technology in their first generation suits. EA and ORB did.

That's because the first generation of mobilesuits was designed with taking down capital ships and non-mobilesuit combat units. NOT for fighting other mobilesuits. GiNNs, CGUEs, DiNNs, and BaCUE's were not built with taking on other mobilesuits in mind, but instead to be overpowering against the conventional forces of the EAF. GiNNs in particular do piss-poor against other mobilesuits, infact, if what we see in the show is any indication. Once they got their hands on the beam technology from the prototype GAT units they were rather quick in implimenting it in existing units (BaCUE, various GiNN variants) but also the Freedom, Justice, Providence, and GuAIZ.

Also, while Orb does not seem to have the pure technological superiority over the EAF at the moment, they very likely do have a research advantage over them. Orb is very good at producing things in secret after all. The GAT units, the Astrays... hell, the complete restoration of the Archangel and the FREEDOM of all things. Whoever brought up the point over Orb mass-producing a transformable MS/MA has a good point as well. Even ZAFT didn't pull that off. The DiNN and BaCUE don't really transform so much as shift posture. ZAFT was also first to impliment beam weaponry in a mass-produced unit with their aquatic MS.

  4. Holy......God......

You have to give this for the writers of the show, they can SURE leave you screaming for more!  Those last moments of this ep sent a chill down my spine.....it looks like its gonna be a massive brou-ha-ha for the next one, and damn if the weekend can't get here fast enough!

    WOW!

Minerva's crew went from code red to code brown. Athrun in particular seemed to have a little extra in his pants. Shinn's reaction next episode should be VERY interesting, since Freedom is directly responsible for the death of his parents.

Kira had a nice, serious expression on his face too. He's there to kick ass and take names.. and he left the notepad and pen at home.

Damned nice end to the episode, especially after they screwed up so hard they couldn't even get the episode number right. <_<

  5. Also courtesy of Gunota is what could very well be the real 'Nu' Freedom/Freedom mk II.

    freedomcmprsn.jpg

It appears to lose its railguns for 'VSBR' style energy guns on the hips (actually, they look A LOT like Savior's wing/cannon binders 'sawed off'), possibly its shield, and it may or may not lose the cannons (they could very well still be mounted in the wings but just not noticable in that lineart).

If it's packing two VSBRs, it could easily no longer /need/ the plasma cannons as well. It'd lose some of its 'Throw out a barrage from HELL!' ability, but it wouldn't lose much versatility. The forearm gauntlets could possibly be beam shield generators (same speculation as for Destiny's gauntlets), and the red parts could easily be build in beam cannons.

While it's hard to tell from how grainy the lineart is, it appears that the beam sabers still store on the hip armor (the back of the VSBR-ish weapons when they're deployed).

The legs look mostly unchanged, just 'tidied up' with the calves a bit sleeker near the bottom. Waist armor is Impulse-style. The shoulder armor seems sawed off. The torso itself, from what you can make out of it, actually looks very sleek and modern in appearance..

Part of me wonders if Impulse and Freedom get trashed around the same time and they scavange parts from Impulse to repair and upgrade ol' Freedom. They have extra Impulse parts, so it's not like Rey couldn't get the traditional hand-me-down..

Edit: Those VSBRs look like they could actually be dual beam rifles, holstered Gundam Airmaster (Gundam X) style. If that's the case then I /really/ hope it still has its plasma cannons.. It wouldn't be fair for Freedom to get neutered down to only two beam rifles. =\

  6. I'm curious how they're going to handle it for the ESMIA Zeta.

I bet like the MSIA Z Gundam 2nd ver. cuz I own one, it isn`t a bitch trust me, just swap the body frame or you can ask Graham he gave a good review 2 years ago.

    Q. To all of you BTW what`s the best Z Gundam figure ?

I've read somewhere that the EMSiA Zeta is going to use exactly the same transformation as the MSiA Zeta, which is a good thing IMO

    Graham

I'm not so sure about that. My v2 Zeta is loose as hell. =\

  7. What's with Rey hugging Dullindal?

That's what I was wondering. Rey just gave him a big ol gay looking hug out of nowhere. Weird...

Speculation is that Dullindal is Rey's adopted father, or some sort of fatherly figure. Even so, it was surprising to see him react that way. Not 'gay' or anything, in my eyes, just surprising. They share similar looks in the first episode and a few others near the beginning, I believe.

  8. Is that what I think it is? what anime is that from????

Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth. Shinji's visiting Asuka in the hospital and ends up knocking her gown open. He masturbates to the sight, then rambles to himself about what a sick bastard he is.

Up untill now, I thought I had misinterpreted bad subtitles... But now I don't know what to think..

Yeah. I haven't seen Death and Rebirth but have heard plenty of comments on that scene, as it was supposedly fairly shocking at the time. When Shinji is having his mental orgy in End of Evangelion, ShinjiAsuka makes a comment about his 'sick jerkoff fantasies' that could easily be a reference to that scene..

Also, as a note, you need to include Australia in the background going 'WTF, mate?' to make that picture perfect.

  9. Now that would be something to see. There is no telling how many they would have to call to stop him. Also I wonder what that would do to some of the JL members if they still couldn't bring him down and they have super powers while he doesn't. :)

I suspect that he could take out atleast half the league over the course of several nights. Lets face it, Batman would NOT let anyone get word back over what was going on. Once they found out it WAS him the rest of the league would likely be in a panic over Batman not only wtfpwning half the league without so much as a superpower to his name, but the fact he undoubtedly did it in an overly brutal, calculated method.. He's also undoubtedly target the original 6 first, to help damage the chain of command and further spread fear and panic.

Given his level of paranoia, as previously noted, he'd undoubtedly have contingency plans for how to take down the big guns and make sure they stayed down. For the lessers.. well, lets face it: who needs a special plan to kill the lessers like Booster Gold? With the amount of effort he's put into plans for taking down Superman alone, imagine the dirt he's got on everyone else.. After all, he's not getting any nicer with age, as the time travel episode showed. <_< You know something's wrong when Batman is having to play GOODCOP with his older self..

  10. I think that there was definitely tension, but I think it was more of the "who's the alpha male/female here" kind.  The real sexual tension is between Bruce and Diana which should be interesting to see played out this season since it seems like Bruce has become less enamored with the entire concept of the league.  I'm not a big reader of comics these days, but wasn't there a JL storyline where Bruce systematically took out members of the league?

In that storyline, Ra's Al Ghul stole Batman's files on the members of the Justice League. These files showed ways of defeating the League in very torturous ways. Batman created the files in case the League ever would go renegade against the world. Ra's created traps from these files and the members voted to expell Batman from the League.

That sounds like Bruce all right. The nasty question is... What would happen if BRUCE went renegade?

You could argue that as the only human member of the league he could be stopped the easiest, but given how resourceful he is and just how many contingency plans he has...
