  1. You know, after watching episode 34 again I'm fairly convinced that Talia fired the Tannhauser at the water on purpose, knowing full and well what it would do, to serve as a HUGE smokescreen for the Archangel (and probably Kira, too, given what she'd undoubtedly know about the suit's survivability) to escape..

  2. wasn't it said that the director changed how mwu died in the SEED compilation movies? so now we don't really know what happend to mwu, sorta like he just went missing for a while or something like that...can't think right now...drank a few beers and can't think correctly...thank god i learned how to touch type :p

Correct. In the compilation movies, the shot of the Archangel and the debris from Strike Gundam was edited to remove Mwu's damaged helmet (which, incidently, only had a really cracked up visor..) from the shot, to leave it amgibious.

  3. DAMN IT!! Man the sword strike kicks ass...meh. Oh well looks like I will buy the smaller aile striker though!! Mineswell get that tan one as well. I've gotta say duel and astray are a TON better than the MSIA from 2 years ago!

To get the Sword Striker pack, order the Strike Rouge figure. Be warned that the anti-ship beam sword is utter crap due to its flimsy plastic not even holding its shape when its held.

  4. Vin Diesel was behind Franz Ferdinand's assassination in June 1914, thus starting World War 1. He claims it on "having a shitty morning".
Vin Diesel was responsible for the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand. It happened because nobody came to his fifteen millionth birthday party.

    So, which was it? :p

He was having a shitty morning because no one came to his birthday party. Duh.

  5. After all didn't the main character in Wing not die from an explosion that destroyed his gundam?

To be fair, Heero did not survive a blast meant to destroy his Gundam.

That blast was intended only to destroy the top secret technology in it. The area that detonates is the torso, head, and.. crotch. Sensors, CPU, reactor, etc. The majority of the mobilesuit is left intact, albeit in several large chunks..

  6. Mods, feel free to close this later, but it seemed like an important enough announcement not to get lost in one of the other threads that aren't really related to MSiA releases.

In BigBadToyStore's latest e-mail newsletter was this notice:

"Some bad news from Bandai USA - they have

officially canceled the domestic release of Gundam, so from now on the

only figures available will be the imported versions. We'll continue to

import Japanese gundams as long as there is demand for them!"

    :(

  7. The Providence-y MS in the middle isn't Knight Justice. It lacks the distinctive head-crest/sensor that all of Athrun's MS have had in one way or another. Aegis and Justice had a very distinctive, tall headcrest with an elongated forehead sensor. Savior has a head 'spike' with a sensor on it that curves along the front of it like some types of battery powered lamps. The heavy ones, for camping and do-it-yourself repairs, things of that nature. Justice mk 2 has an Aegis/Justice style forehead sensor, as opposed to a Savior style one. Judging on the price of the MSiA, Knight Justice will retain the subflight system that Justice had, also.. no funnels for it.

  8. Yeah, I figured that that was Justice and Freedom's primary advantage over other MS's in atmosphere - they didn't need a flying skateboard like the rest of the GAT series. What I was alluding to was the fact that along with providing Freedom a hiMAT, its wings also hid two massive cannons. I don't see where Nu-Freedom's Wings can hide any weaponry in them so far :(

Didn't so much hide them as just have them also. Those two guns could of easily been mounted on the back by themselves.

There's no evidence of it so far, but Nu-Freedom could still have its old cannons, or new equivilent ones, in there.. or possibly even have Funnels hidden in them.

  9. Anyone got any clue what the Nu-Freedom's wings are for (apart from looking pretty and making a large target?) :p

Perhaps the same function as Freedom's? <_<

To properly answer, Freedom and Justice were built for space /and/ atmospheric activity. Both have a 'HiMAT' (High-Manuever ATtack?) mode to make them more manueverable.

Freedom has its wing binders, which fan open to give a maximum spread to its maneuvering thrustors (and possibly some sort of atmospheric control surfaces, although you never see them animated or otherwise mentioned).

Justice had its Goblin Glider-esque detaching backpack that would fold up to bring all its weapons on one target while attached to the MS. Nu-Justice apparently has the same system, by if what's been said about the intro is any indication.

  10. So Nu-Freedom /does/ have two beam rifles. Depending on their power output it might not of honestly lost much by ditching the two Balena plasma cannons and Lupus for two beam rifles and a positron bellygun...

..Dosn't mean that the belly gun isn't stupider then the Balenas, though :(

Also, Nu-Freedom for the title card instead of Destiny?

    Shinn = pwn3d. :lol:

  11. They're definitely different.  It's much easier to see in a side-by-side comparison.  The ones on Nu Freedom look slimmer and longer.  The black and red strips at the top are gone, and the panel that's outlined along the front edge is higher up.  The whole back half of the railgun is gone.  It'd be nice if we could get some actual lineart, though.  These few images we've got so far aren't great.  It's difficult to compare, particularly with Destiny obscuring part of the shot.

Nu-Freedom's railguns appear to not fold infront, instead sticking down further like the railguns/hip weapons on the GuAIZ R do. If you look carefully, behind the hand is a grey shape that coincides with the rear block of the railgun from Freedom.

Due to the inability to see either end of the railgun, it's hard to say of the colored sections that tip either side of it are still there.

EDIT: The black colored block appears to still be on the end of the rear block. No sign of the red part, though.

Anyone else anxious to see if we get an MSiA of this guy? The design is definitely growing on me now that I know it retains its railguns atleast..

  12. Yes. Although, is it confirmed that the Exus has wireless pods? I was of the understanding that they were wired like the Mobius.Zero's. Chaos has weapons pods that appear to function exactly like funnels, wireless and all.

Exass has wired gunbarrels (watch episode 3 and look for the wires). Chaos has wireless weapon pods. Unfortunately, there isn't enough info on Chaos to say whether or not it has the DRAGOON system. For some reason, Chaos's weapon pods don't seem to act like funnels/bits. But I could be wrong. We'll just have to wait for detailed info on Chaos.

Was pretty sure Exass was wired.. wasn't sure though.

You're right in that Chaos's weapons pods don't really act like the funnels or bits we've seen before. They actually seem to function more as computer-controlled weapons pods rather then Newtype-controlled Bits/Funnels. Sting sure as hell hasn't been suggested to be a Newtype, after all. They could very well have built in AI subroutines to independantly attack a seleted target or targets.

  13. Wot's a funnel?

Bits and Funnels are, fundamentally, the same thing. Bits have an onboard powersupply however where as Funnels recharge by docking with the mother unit to recharge their e-pacs.

Given SEED's setup, Nu-Freedom is more likely to have recharging Funnels then nuclear-powered Bits.

Like the ones on the Exus MA and the Chaos Gundams?

Yes. Although, is it confirmed that the Exus has wireless pods? I was of the understanding that they were wired like the Mobius.Zero's. Chaos has weapons pods that appear to function exactly like funnels, wireless and all.

  14. Nu Freedom has some kind of box or something on it's shoulders/where the wings attach. Maybe it had Sazabi style Funnels on it?

Without the Shoulder cannons, and smaller hip cannons, it's got to have something on it, and what's in those two boxes has to be it.

Reflectors in the forearms + compact funnels would equal badass.

That could very well be. That'd explain the bulkier top of the wing binders. Freedom with Deflecters would be wicked.. horribly, horribly wicked. With its nuclear engine it'd never have to worry about running low on power for 'em, either.

Railguns, beam rifle(s?), funnels, positron deflecters.. which are really just overpowered beam shields anyways. Freedom's ready to pwn an entire new generation of MS.
