I've enjoyed Macross 7 from the start, and I'm 9 episodes away from watching the entire series. It's not a bad show, IMO, but enjoyable if you love a mix of classic Macross characters (Max, Millia, and Exodore) with newcomers (Basara, Mylene, Gamilin, Miho Miho, Flower Girl, etc.) to the franchise. Plus new Valkyries, the Protodevlin and such.

It's a resin garage kit of Nova Satori from the Robotech Masters arc of the series.

By coincidence, Mika Doi has voiced three different characters on the three shows that would later become Robotech: Misa Hayase/Lisa Hayes (Macross) Lana Isavia/Nova Satori (Southern Cross) and Houquet et Rose/Rook Bartley (MOSPEADA).

Bonus points goes out to me since Doi-san also provided the voice of Queen Serenity on a few episodes of Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon.

And yet, he didn't make the Shadow Chronicles cut, strange...

But, he was in Prelude to the Shadow Chronicles.

Interestingly, In Spanish, "Bendo" is slang for "ugly hermaphrodite that wears dirty diapers."

I must admit I had to think about it for a moment, but I wouldn't even wish that on Robotech, the garbage that it is and has been compared to the real deal.

As much as HG is hated for what they did to get Macross on the air, it pails in comparison to what was done to Gatchaman - I would actually count that show as an argument in favor of HG helping to bring Anime to the West...

Those two, along with Star Blazers and Marine Boy (never knew the Japanese title) are the best arguments against HG's claim.

Star Blazers was known as Space Cruiser Yamato in Japan.

Not directly, AFAIK. That explains the decline and fall of the Protoculture but not explicitly that the Supervision Army were remnants of that war. Or am I forgetting something?

The SDF-3 have the Protoculture Matrix, and without access to it, there won't be enough Protoculture to power the remaining forces. Ergo: No Protoculture, no dice. The UEEF will be sitting ducks when another alien invasion happens.
