  1. Curiosity... what did you use to get the scan texture? Some kind of manual filter?

Yes, it was a filter. Unfortunately I don't remember which one. I remember tweaking the options a bit to get it to look like that.

  2. New one.. I was thinking of doing a wide screen version with the ghost to the left. But I can't find a top down pic of it and the side view looks weird there.

Eye captured from the remastered DVDs.

  3. I demand this be put in 1/100 sticker format for my immediate purchase and applying to my Konig Monster... :p

Well, I have the vector if you can find someone who wants to make it into a sticker for you.

  4. Here's the alpha omega picture again from Tenjin Hidetaka's Macross art book.

Maybe somebody can fix this picture up. I'm not willing to cut up my book for scans, so I took a digital camera picture and then pasted out my thumb.

Here is another version of the same pic. I'm not sure what book it came from, perhaps the Japanese Macross Plus LDs/DVDs.

I'm thinking it may be best to recreate the image rather than clean up either of these two pictures. I have a vector YF-19 ready so all I need to do is the YF-21 and Sharon's "eye."

  5. I really miss the old days of THIS IS ANIMATION, BEST HIT SERIES and ROMAN ALBUM...

Yeah.. the This is Animation series were great. I sure hope Frontier gets something like it.

Not on ebay.. but once I nabbed a 1/3000 Takatoku SDF-1 in box with complete accessories for $60 at World's Best Comics in Sacramento. The SDF-1 itself is mint but the box it shipped in was worn badly. I see the same wear on other Takatoku toys so I think they just didn't use good cardboard/ink.

    (edit: forgot my story!)

  6. Well, if that is minimum to get just fabric printed were looking $8500+ in fabric costs alone which is a tremendous investment.

Lets say we get 1700 shirts made, it would break down like this:

~$5 in fabric per shirt + buttons + thread + backing + tailor fees. Some how I think these expenses would push the initial investment to over double the cost of the fabrics alone. While I think we'd be able to sell 1700 Macross themed shirts, it would be a large initial investment. Maybe the folks that do the Macross World Con shirts could poke their head in here and give us some ideas.

Personally, I think silk screening a pre-made shirt that has a hawaiian pattern is a better idea.

For the brainstorm department, here is another sample of a button up shirt:

Here is a question, what generation did is everyone interested in doing?

    SDF Macross TV

    DYRL?

    Zero (cough.. no)

7 (somehow I don't for see this being universally accepted)

    Plus

    Frontier

My vote is for SDF Macross TV. My favorite as well as getting some potential crossover interest from the Robotech fans.

Has anyone scribbled some designs on a paper napkin or something yet?
