  1. Almost the same thing happen to the color industries in the past only big corporations could afford color printing, this days it's just a common thing, who knows Hasegawa might have better business on selling the model on a CD for you to print it at home, THINK ABOUT THAT, today your desktop PC can handle 3D rendering like nothing, almost every computer have powerful video cards capable of renderize these images on real time, I think this printers will create a whole new kind of business

  2. With all this talking about recasting special models it came to my attention something truly different there is some companies that offers 3D printing here is an excerpt from roundstonedigital.com about 3d printing technology

    WHAT IS 3D PRINTING?

Three-dimensional printing technology is used to build physical models from sketches, blueprints, 3D scans, CAD Files and many other formats. Using a computer and proper software, a 3D mesh is created to represent the object to be printed. This mesh data is then sent as many thin horizontal slices to the printer, which interprets the data and joins together liquid and powder materials to form complex parts layer by layer. Three-dimensional printing is the least expensive rapid prototyping process, which turns the 3D data into a physical model for conceptual evaluation. Where an ordinary printer lays down a single layer of ink on a single sheet of paper, these printers add the extra dimension by printing layer after layer in a vat of starch or plaster until you have a physical model identical that accurately reflects the original design. Parts with a wide variety of sizes, strengths, flexibility and surface finish can be produced with this method. Please visit our gallery for some examples.

My point is right now 3d printing machines are very, VERY expensive, but HP has announce a home model by the end of this year ($10,000 USD), they aspire to print from models to anything that needs replacement parts in your house, It's some kind of liquid plastic, can you believe the posibilities on developing your own models or replace parts to improve your own models not to mention increase the scale, if you own a 1/72 VF-22 with the proper scale you can reprint a largr version, I mean the posibilities are endless

  3. I live in NYC and I just got my Q-Rau, now more thatn ever I can personally say that it is a reasonable price, taking under consideration, that if you buy it in the states it's more money not to mention difficult to find, if you buy it from over seas on ebay you take the risk of a crapy box when it gets here, so with all that I just love this Q-Rau, I don't get the comparison with the 1/48, the Q-rau doesn't transform, I never tought it will, the detail it's pretty good I actually tought it was going to be a little biger but actually love the size, and the Miriya figure looks just right, i glad i bought it, excellent addition to my Macross/Anime collection

    There

  4. I will put it together, I'm not as good as you, but with practice I will get there, by the way if an artbox for these models are needed I can offer my services for them, also the instruction sheet, lets make it in color, but of course I will need some pictures and color references, and then leave the rest to me

    Ciao

  5. Well frisky aren't we!

My real motivations, on buying this toys, well they are beautiful, I love the fact, that people that share the same passion for a hobby can get together and pull projects like this, it makes me feel special, profit out of this, shame on whoever thinks like that, I believe must of us can wait to display these pieces on our collections, and the pride to be part of this amazing project, once again that's human behavior, If you don't do it, why don't you?, and if you do it, why did you do it?, Lets see who has a big grin on its face when you get your hands on this kits, I CAN'T WAIT

    Later dudes

    Koki

  6. My most expensive toy the Mospeada 21 Armor Rider the Big guy = $130, the best steal I exchange the Takara MPC for a 1/48 Low Viz, this guy assume that the Optimus MPC was more popular that the Low Viz, I couldn't disagree, and the worst buy, $55 for a small Mospeada bike Bartley

  7. I don't smoke or waste my money on drugs, I drink socially, but expend most of my time trying to make money, so I work hard to pay for my own pleasures, If Yamato don't make the toy, why they don't make it?, and then it's out and let the bashing begin, you don't like or can't afford it, fine, but don't be judging others for enjoying a truly fun hobby, I gues thats why they are call collectibles? right?, who knows maybe the price will go down in the future, but if this become a success like the Low Biz, don't be crying later why you don't have one!

    Peace B))

  8. Mine it's on the way, so I would give my opinion, but then again how many enemy mechas are out there?, Umm? NONE, so I guess until nothing new come up, I thinks this is the best toy out there!!!

    Peace

  9. Thank You, I seen your work, I'm totally going to follow your advice, I have already Tamiya Acrilics, I used to paint my models with regular paintbrushes, but I got tired of seeing all these great pieces out there, lets see what can I do with these VF-22s

    B))

  10. Well said Graham, Macross is such a small part of he world of anime, nothing to compare like Gundam or Transformers, but still all of us (At least me) would love to see more companies competing for our benefit, with production of more and better Macross toys, but the reality is at this moment only Yamato is paying attention to us

    Peace

  11. I just bought an airbrush, with computers, I haven't use an airbrush since art school, can somebody recomend, any kind of paint, solvent combination more appropiate for plastic models, i'm plannin on painting a VF-22s

  12. Well Graham, I been looking at all this reviews, and I can say thank you, I'm waiting by my mailbox already for my Q-Rau, excellent review, and stop the madness, nobody can start judging the toy just by picture, let's see the opinions later
