Alas, the wait continues.
Same here, brother. Same here. lol

Most of their kits go together without glue, but they sometimes have a part that’s a little loose, so a dab here or there might help. You could probably build it and if something does feel loose, then just take a little drop of super glue on the back of the part and should be fine. And instructions are super easy.
Thanks so much for the info, Big S. Very helpful! Now, I just gotta find one for a good price! lol

Most of the moderoid stuff is pretty good so far. They like to pick a lot of different subjects and they turn out pretty great. I can’t wait to see their Mospeada kits that are coming up soon
Very cool. Another dumb set of questions (from a non modeler lol): 1) Are the instructions easy? 2) Is glue needed?
I do own the HMR of this, but I like the fact that Good Smile is releasing more from this franchise.

Curious about the Good Smile Orguss kits. Says they are colored and some parts are painted? Is this true and how good does that actual final build look without any additional painting? How sturdy are they for a kit?
Thanks in advance! 😃

After all these years, some new finds in the saga of Select Convertors. I just came across these two variants of their Zardak(Orgroid) and Sunyak (Nikick ) that I have never seen before. Notice how it says 3rd Generation on the card. I’ve never seen that mentioned in any Convertors article. And they really modified the mold on these. I wonder if any other 3rd Gens exist. Anyone on here ever seen these variants?
Holy crap! Never have seen these before. Great find - where exactly did you find them? I noticed they're not distributed from NY's SELECT, but from Star/Wintoys? So in other words, they're KO's of Convertors lol (as jvmacross says)
Great stuff, man. You just put a dent in the CONVERTORS history! lol Curious, how much did you fetch them for? (and where?).

Awesome stuff. Do you sell prints of these?

As mentioned in a few previous posts, we can be fairly certain that isn't in the cards because...
- Flash Back 2012 was the epilogue to their story. Per Kawamori, their story is over and they've sailed off into the (metaphorical) sunset aboard Megaroad-01.
- Not revisiting those characters in future works is apparently a stipulation of the new global distribution agreement with HG.
-
There's really no story to tell... the Megaroad-01 sailed interstellar space uneventfully for four years and then lost contact with the New UN Government...
Ah, oh well. Thanks for referencing an early post.
Despite the legalities alone with HG, wouldn't it be nice to see the events of "the Megaroad-01 sailed interstellar space uneventfully for four years and then lost contact" unfold?
Hopefully Disney will buy the property. Then I'd get what I want. *sarcasm*
-
I think it's about time we see a continuation of either DYRL or SDFM. Like, a direct sequel to those events with the surviving characters.
Not since Macross Plus have we had an original "Macross" story that worked. Just my opinion.

Kits has stolen this design from a piece of fan art afaik, witch is unfortunately common for 3P's with the RT license
Is KITZ actually making this?!

I never saw the in the U.S. when they were dubbed. Maybe it was just for a vhs release. But since they didn’t finish the series dubbing I only watched the subtitles version. In fact the first time I saw the show it was a bad subtitle version, so this was definitely an upgrade. I wouldn’t mind if they did a decent dub since I’d rather watch than read especially since the animation looks great for the most part.
😃

Thank you.

Back in the 80’s and early 90’s they had that great mix of trash and treasure. Now it’s just trash more than anything unfortunately. But I remember the good old days of finding so much odd stuff that you weren’t sure what to spend the cash on.
100%. These days, all the vendors are carrying the same crap (iPhone cases, etc). Back in the 80s, you can get some cool Taiwan goodies!

It’s definitely worth it.
out of the list provided, I’d put Macross at the top followed by Mospeada then Orguss and after that southern cross. Although Mospeada isn’t technically a super dimension show, it does have a triple changing robot and I only slightly put it ahead of Orguss.
Big S. Thank you. Yeah, I realized that Mospeada wasn't a SD show minutes after I posted, but of course, my laziness got the best of me. lol
Based on what you just told me, I think I made up my mind to purchase it! I did read that the first 17 episodes are dubbed, and the rest Japanese w/subs. Does this ruin the experience? Are there any character-name changes I need to be aware of?
Also, for the dubbed episodes, how did this even come be? It's like it ever aired on English TV? And is the dub one that was done in the 80s? Or a "new" dub?
Thanks again! 😃

Loving my HMR! Will buy anything else they release from the Orguss series. ALWAYS loved the designs of these.
Question: I enjoyed the Super Dimension series (Mospeada, Macross, Southern Cross), but have YET to watch the Orguss series. I'm thinking of picking up the Blu-ray for it. Can anyone give me a non-spoiler review for the series? Is it worth it? How does it compare to the rest of Super Dimension shows?
There's something about these early 80s Anime, man!

Have you had any experience with model kits?
if you’re not a kit builder, these aren’t complicated anyway. You can get away with using things you already have like if you don’t have nippers, use a nail clipper and as a bonus some cheap nail clippers already have a file to rub down the nubs left behind if you don’t have sand paper. I do recommend some simple items like nippers or a sanding sponge and maybe a black gundam panel line marker or even a basic gundam marker set. Maybe a thin styrene glue like tamiya extra thin. Those are pretty much all you would really need if you just want to snap it out and display it.
I don’t really know if there’s gonna be any need for color correcting of any parts, but they usually keep that to a minimum. I really won’t know until the kit comes out. But I wouldn’t let anything scare you off.
Just keep in mind that even though the age ranges are for adults on the box, they make these things for kids in mind. There of course will be room for a more experienced builder to do things like remove seam lines and paint or customize, but that’s always optional as to how far you want to take things.
Thanks for the tips. Do you know if there's a kit that comes with all this stuff you mention? Any help is useful. Even if you have to send me separate links.
My experience with kits is very minimal. When I was a kid, I used to go for the snap-together ones (no glue required). And I'd never paint them. Always struggled with the decals lol But in a way, I always enjoyed the process when they came out decent.
I just love the way this particular one looks. Much better than the HMR that's coming out soon (and I'll be getting that soon). Always loved the MODEROID mech design.
-
I'm not a model kit builder, but I'm thinking about getting this, especially after reading this:
"The various parts of the mecha have been separated into different colored runners, pre-painted parts and stickers, making it easy to recreate the mecha with a simple assembly."
With that said, this thing is almost a toy! Thoughts?

It’s Orguss 02 from Orguss 02. Wish Bandai will add this to their Hi-Metal R lineup.
Thanks for clearing that up 😃

Wait a minute, sorry if this is common knowledge, but where is that design from? It's not from any of the shows, right? Thanks in advance!
