Macross Dyrl. Haven't seen the orginal series yet:(

Hi everybody I am new here. I am Robotech fan but I also likes Macross Plus and more so I thought what the heck I will be a member her to. Now to the questions. I am on of those who think Macross 7 sucks because of all the music but I am thinking of watching the Ova and movies because I want to see some connection between SDF-1 Macross and Macross 7. So what do you guys think should I torture myself watching the whole Macross 7 or just watch some eps ect ect. Thanks for now!
