  1. Never mind, dude, there's indeed a way to damage internal structure because of a fall: just roll a double 2 onto the damage location chart and it will do a critical hit which will go right through the armor and damage the endoskeleton only

The "fun" part is when this critical hits an ammo storage, except in post-3050AD

Ah yes. CASE. Which... unless you're one of the cheating dirty Clanners, is still liable to royally jack up your 'Mech if you are mounting an Extra-Light Engine.

  2. ivanofs death is just as gruesome as the deaths of those whom he killed, still i feel sorry for nora, i think that she lost her parents in the war and got raped or tortured as well, she wasn´t evil, she was just filled with anger.

the only pilots who will always dye are those who are cooler than the main characters or those who lacks the ability.

after watching so many gruesome deaths in many films and seeing how war only means suffering i will never support war nor will i ever join any military institution. today´s wars are not fought with honor nor for glory, only for politics and interests.

shame on those who kill people no matter what.

Ivanov beats Kakizaki and Guld for worst Macross death.

    You are Hastur!

The Unspeakable One is the master of those who seek to unveil the mysteries of death. It is through meditation upon the Yellow Sign that the devotee of Hastur seeks transcendence to the city-realm of dim Carcosa. Through a complex series of visualizations that expand the aspirants void-consciousness, the final age will arise. Ruled by the ominous King in Yellow, a new stage of reality will come to fruition. Of the Olde Ones, Hastur is considered to be one of the most difficult to work with, his teachings being reserved exclusively for the Cthonian Adepts and Lords.

  4. Batman wins simply because the Flash would not expect a potential JLA ally to stab him in the back.

It's like this really... Batman doesn't really care if he hits you when you're ready or not. It just matters that he's ready. He'd do his best to catch the Flash with his pants down. Which meand unprepared and obviously not at super speed.

  5. Batman should be able to decimate all of them.

    Fixed.

haha, batman is so over rated.

superman could just stand on the moon and obliterate them all with heat vision.

Green Lantern has the most powerful weapon in all the universe. he would 0wn all these fools, be he Kyle, Hal, John, hell even Guy Gardener could whup some ass.

A thought based weapon against a man who can move at ten times the speed of thought? Not very smart, Major Jordan.

    lame

Sorry man but I have to retaliate on that one.

JL has been one of the best written animated shows in years.

You probably dont even watch it. Spending all of your time worshipping Ahnold.

    :p

  7. They need to bring Nightwing and Jade together and have Turner or Larocca draw it.

Or better yet, an Outsiders TV show.

now that Jade has given Kyle Rayner the boot, i guess thats possible. Outsiders is a great book, BTW. really worth a read.

True, but I felt it could have been done in a much better way. The way it was handled in Green Lantern made her look trampy.

Then again, the way the way the Green Lantern title was handled for the past few months before Homecoming weren't to my liking anyway. But it's a moot point to argue about since it's getting cancelled.

Meh. I like Hal (look at the Avatar), but I liked him better as this dead ideal.

But yes, Outsiders is a good book.

  8. It's the closest you can get to being inside a mech...I think.

Nah... the closest thing was BattleTech Center, where you actually sat down in a closed cockpit and could play against 7 other people. Tons of buttons and controls. It was great!!!

There was a basic set up where the joystick controlled where you went, the throttle stick controlled how fast you went and that was it. But you could enter in a code on the keypad to unlock the other controls for advanced players. There was the right and left foot pedals, the torso rotation, different radars, IR camera view, seperate load, RoF and link controls for each weapon (up to 20-25, I think)...

    I miss Battletech Center. :(

    WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Good memories.

  9. i agree the vs threads are kind of lame just because none of these vehicles opperate in the same universe.  but... sometimes these discussions are fun to geek out on.

Eh... I totally disagree. Different anime have their own different set of physics and rules governing their world (usually based on the creators whim). Because this is so, any versus discussion becomes moot since you can't accurately determine how something from one anime would work in another.

Now, if they were set in the same world, adn we knew this going in, THEN one vs the other threads would be cool.

    ........?

isnt' that kinda exactly what i said?

    :D:D:D

Oops. I meant to reply to the "Fun to geek out on" part of your statement.

    <- (stupid wdc)

    :) no worries

  10. As much as I like Garfield and Bill Murray, I'm expecting this movie to suck big time as most comic/animation to live-action movies do.

Some freeky irony at work here:

Lorenzo Music who voiced Garfield also voiced the animated Peter Venkman on The REAL Ghostbusters.

Bill Murray who played Peter Venkman in Ghostbusters is voicing Garfield.

  11. I don't like what they did to Wally. Kinda how they shoehorned Eel O' Brian's Plastic Man personality over Wally's shy rather introspective look on life. I say Hawkgirl is redundant. Aquaman should have been in rather than just getting Cameo roles. Jon Stewart is the most boring GL ever. Laser beams. The most powerful weapon in the universe for... Laser Beams? He's just there for Political Correctness.

And Plastic Man DAMNIT! I WANT PLASTIC MAN!

But overall, it isn't actually a bad series once you ignore the continuity it violates and get over Hawkgirl's Swiss Army Mace, I found I thoroughly enjoyed the series. I even liked the Amazo redesign.

    ----------------------------------------------------------

    Speaking of DC and GL.

Hal is coming back. How does that strike you.

They didnt shoe horn in any one...

When Wally first took over as the Flash after the Death of Barry Allen :o

Wally was a complete Ass.. Always Showboating and sleeping around.... this personality kinda fits him... In the Books he kinda calmed down once he got a better understanding of his powers with the whole Speed force and all...

I just re-read my Flash Collection I downloaded.. from Number 1 till up untill two months ago....

Yeah. But there was personality growth when he matured into a quite likable individual.

    Not this 2-dimensional hothead.

    -----------------------------------

And despite the Avatar, I'd rather Hal stayed dead. I kinda liked his role as "Greatest Green Lantern Ever" hanging over everyone with them trying to live up to his ideal before the fall.

And Parallax was COOL man. He cornered the whole Tragicly Conflicted Cosmic Level Villain perfectly.

  13. Look at Hayao's height  :D

207cm for a Japanese is pretty uncommon....the height average for the comtemplary japanese man is 175~185cm.  I guess they just wanna make the characters look big inside the cockpits.

    Pretty uncommon???

I lived in Japan from 90-92, and I can tell you honestly that In that entire time, I only saw ONE Japanese guy that was taller than I am. I am 5'11", and this dude was HUGE, easily 6'4" or better, and trust me, he stuck out like a sore tumb.

Ali Sama's got it right, but I think that 170 cm might be pushing the upper limits of the average male height in Japan.

So, Kakizaki would be some sort of mutant by Japanese standards, hell, had he survived SWW1, he may have had a promising career as a Sumo wrestler. According to the compendium, he tipped the scales at a whopping 140 kg, that's 309 lbs!! NO WAY IN HELL his fat ass would fit in a fighter cockpit.

That would probably explain why he died in the Barrier Shield Implosion.

    Too fat to run.

  14. So I'm looking at these Mechwarrior figs on my 1/55 shelf, and it's really bugging me that the boxes state that these are 1/55 scale when their pilot figs are around 1/72 scale in size... I'm trying to figure out if the stated scale is a misnomer or if these figs were just given the wrong sized pilots.  Anyone know of a good resource for stats on the Madcat, Jupiter, Forestry Mech and the Legionairre?

...and spare me the comments about giving up on scales for toys, I know it's anal retentive and silly, but it still bugs me, alright?

The generic height is given at about 3 storeys, so estimate about 12 meters, give or take a bit.

  15. Well... I never actually had this problem really.

Actually I did. When my kid cousins came over, they'd spill my Warhammer bins, mess up my comics and generally maul anything even vaguely resembling a toy or action figure.

So one day anyway, one of the terrors tried to eat one of my Warhammer 40K Imperial Guard Junior Officers, so I told my aunt that they're made of real lead.

I never had to worry about kids in my room ever again.
