  1. Don't worry, Yamato anounced that more news on the VF-4 will be released in Feb. So it may not be out for preorder before Feb (or even later), and ship in the second season. Still some time to save up after the VF-25S (which is supposed to be shipped late Jan.)

  2. even if you can glue it back it will not stand the stress and hold the part unless some form of re-enforcement is applied. The part itself is too thin for inserting metal pin.

One possible way is to add a layer of thin metal foil on the outside of the U shape part (best if you can take the U shape part out ) after sanding it down a bit (to increase friction and to maintain the same thickness after fixing) metal used should be one that you can cut bend to the desired shape but also have a bit of hardness.

I suppose some flexible plastic may also do, like those transparent sheets that was used in packaging but they might be too thick if you want the right toughness.

  3. could it be that it was not yet decided between a toy or a kit and yamato want to take some time to see the reaction to the acouncement?

and if VF-4G is a limited items, and demand is significant, cound it be any chance of a variation that is not limited? (certainly this is my whishful thinking :) )

  4. Mine was bought last year with a new package, so far so good, but I am a bit worry about the 25th Ann. as it has loose joints since day one and I guese other problems will come up one by one. :(

  5. To clear things up I'll just put it this way:

1.Yamato very likely will reissue their VFs

2.Reissue very often will have improvements if flaws are found in the first run

3.Reissue(or stocks that were not sold for a certain period of time) will very likely be sold at discount by retailers or webshops.

p.s. I wonder if retailers and webshops can sell it at a 55% discount vs MSRP if they do not get discounts from Yamato :D

  6. With discount? Lol... not bloody likely. Maybe you'll find them on sale but Yamato doesn't make a habit of decreasing their MSRP for later runs... unless those later runs come with fewer accessories and these days they're already selling us the bare minimum accessories.

MSRP? does that had anything to do with the price-tags of reatilers or web-shops?

As I began collecting the VFs only around 2 years ago, Many of my Yamaies were bought, from retailers or web-shops, with discount :D

    i.e. YF-19 Dobble Nuts and Bird of Prey for HKD800 each, a few 1/60 VF-1 at around HKD500 - HKD600, VF-11B at HKD800, VF-0S and VF-0A at HKD800, VF-22 at HKD799 and 6400Yen.....

  7. Do it if you do not already completed a vermilion squad or a DYRL Skull squad, I'm afraid Max and Kakizaki will not get re-issue very soon after these stocks ran out.

  8. The current repackaged 1/48 VF-1S has tight joints, smaller box.

About a TV version, the 1/48 VF-1J Hikaru and Mass production VF-1A has the same off white as the VF-1S, if a bright white version is to be made then a bright white VF-1J and a bright white/ brown VF-1A should also be made to match it, not a bad idea for Yamato and for die hard completists :D .

What about starting the Ver.2 line with Roy Focker VF-1S in TV Version and Movie Version, complemented with different figures and hand parts, SP and SSP respectively :D

  9. A company can always sell internationally through a third party, it can be a broker oversea or local. it does not necessary add a lot to the cost. And Bandai is selling toys internationally anyway.

Putting things web-esclusive is another matter, could it be more of a hype which make the buyers feel more previleged?

  10. In the beginning I was going to get the VF-25S only, but one day I just gave in and ordered the 25F also, so here it is, it feels very much like a Yamato VFs except it is glossy. is it true that FLEX, which is involved with designing some of Yamato's VFs and other robots figures (suppoedly) was also involved with this one?

--just find out that the team leader for development of this one was from Bandai Hobby division.
