Personally I think it means that the system connects with the Vajra-produced fold wave energy that they use to communicate (and I think the implication is that it also provides power to the Vajra).

I certainly wish that the Wyvern variant of the VF-25 was further developed (appeared in Macross Ace & VFMF:VF-25), as the description says something about a propeller driven craft is needed for Vajra reconnaissance as the Vajra can't detect a VF-25 with its engines deactivated. If that is true, then the YF-29 would stick out like a sore thumb to the Vajra, given that it also uses their fold wave energy!

All i can think about this fold wave system is wireless energy transfer. I wouldn't surprise if the energy supply came from fold space. Like xenogears.

This thing has unlimited supply of energy? No more need for fuel?

Wonder if the next generation VF you could simply upload yourself into the VF computer. Allowing maximum G's while doing itano circus, with pilot imagination as the limit. And the VF finally become a living bio weapon. *brain explode*

For once I would like to see a story where the AI is good like they do in the "alien" movies smetimes.

Bishop in aliens seems like a untrustworthy android, but we see him save lives at the end.

Personally I think valkyries which are controlled with AI is the direction for macross in the future. No problem over music stopping them from fighitng.

If the rogue zentradi were smart they would try to create their own battle-star-galactica styled cylons to help them fight against humans with pop idols. The logic would be that "machines can't be culture shocked into submission".

Then in reaction to this, un spacy uses the pop idols to feed their emotions into "sharon apple"-like AI lifeforms which then have control over valkyries and fight against the rogue zentradi AI. This would be called the cyber wars because no fleshy people were involved in the fighitng only AI vs AI struggle.

The good guy AI win in the end because the song inspired them to mate with the rogue zentradi AI, (a form of cyber sex where they experience joy at meeting other beings like themselves and seek companionship) and this resulted in both AI making peace together which then ends the cyber wars. The AIs then turn against their masters (both the un spacy and rogue zentradi) and seek independence, off to live on a planet by themselves; which they name cybertron. ("the birth of the transformers!" lol)

Interesting idea. It's like duel between rock band in the same stage, which one is able to gather most applause would be the winner, which AI able to hack most VF's and spaceships would win the battle. It will be duels between songs of both AI's.

But no idea about the protagonist, another pilot?

I watched the movie first, and that scene made me fell in love with YF-21, along with Myung's "Voice".

It seems we'll never know what kind of ISC which used by YF-24, aside from able to store much more inertia compared to ISC in VF-25. I hope at least not yet. Anything is possible at this point.

First thing on my mind when VF-1XX showed up was drag racing, i mean about the level of the danger. Always pushing to the limit. And the people involve in it has the same level of insanity as well, but in a good way. So much passion for racing.

Then, this "ultimate" ISC in YF-24 does work to suppress G-force and as an interface for the pilot as well. Is this correct? The thing that the frontier colonists tried to achieve through their own R&D with EX-Gear?

EX-Gear in frontier, and cyber-something in galaxy, different approach, same goal.

That YF-29 wing engines are awesome, don't know about it's effectiveness, but it looks cool.

Yeah, i thought it was strange how the VF-171 in the beginning of MF were easily defeated. At least that is how i see it.

I forgot about EX-Gear as an interface unit, i thought ISC and EX-Gear was the same.

From the translations, somehow it looks like the purpose of a pilot becomes more specialized, and actually more skills demanding than before ISC era. They only deploy for attack mission beyond enemy lines, in small units or even solo accompanied by several unmanned side kicks.

More reason for pilot to use implant or become cyborg in the process. Well, sort of like that, maybe.

So the future of VF's is the kind of like luca's RVF-25 or something like that? Smells like funnels.

I think it's a good comparison, VF-17 is still in service from time of VF-11 until now VF-25, with so many upgrades like in VF-171EX without much changes in the basic airframe design, just like B-52.

Humanity in macross world is always in fragile condition, tends to corrupt easily, especially when people start to forget about song and music, which is an important thing in a long voyage through space.

But as long as they keep on singing, everything will be fine.

VF's and whole macross universe, he even wrote the lyrics for "Koi wa Dogfight". I say he is a god.

I would love to see another tenshi no enogu kind of video clip, with that good old animation style.

I think the chances of this being animated is quite slim, but maybe some kind of short video clip showing off those juicy VFs racing each other would be nice.

All this time i thought VF-19ACTIVE is the one being used for EX-Gear development, but then came up YF-25 already equipped with EX-Gear.

Or perhaps the EX-Gear in YF-25 is still being perfected, hence the name control test?
