We've finally caught the future. The Bombardier EMBRIO/2025 is very reminiscent of Venus Wars, runs on fuel cells and has night vision. If I own one luxury vehicle in my lifetime, this will be it.

Unlikely.
VW doesn't tolerate their vehicles being associated with war (due largely to their role in WWII Germany). They may not give Hasbro license to produce a toy model of the bug.

maybe the non-FP 1J was designed to fit the........G....B....P....?
i'm just guessing......
You just rasied a delima. You get the one with FP or get the one without and wait maybe for posible GPS Armor? Either way a new valk.
I'm getting the FP/Valk set as it's likely that Yamato will release the CF at some point. If the GBP comes out, then you've got a Super CF and a GBP-1J.

Tamim, get those preorders up!

Agreed, I'm keeping mine white. Though this is largely because I'm afraid to mess up a $140 toy.
Nice custom paint though.

I like them. And apparently the scorch marks will be toned down for the production pieces.
-
I'm buying the 1/48 Hikaru 1J solely in hopes of a 1/48 GBP release. So Yamato better get one in production fast.

Meanwhile, I completely disagree. I love these renditions and think Jackson's done a fantastic job. I can't imagine what would befall the series had it been in the hands of another director.
-
Wow.
I can't believe they can print something so close to Unit 01. It's almost the equivalent of coloring Optimus Prime green and calling him a Sentinel.
-
Will it come with the trailer?
Nope.
Hasbro/Takara decided the price point was maxed; fearing that the addition of parts would only deter potential buyers and harm their profits. A recent quote was around $120 for the set, versus the current $75 price point. While this may not seem like a significant increase to those of us accustomed to paying $150+ per 1/48; keep in mind that most Transfans rarely spend over $10 per toy. In fact, the biggest and arguably most anticipated Transformer in the past several years is at a $50 price point and many fans are unwilling to shell out for it.
There is rumor that Palisades will create a static trailer to be displayed with Prime, but whether or not this is fact has yet to be proven.
Mine will be kicking ass in Robot mode for eternity so this is a non-issue for me.

WHat I don't get is... are there a bunch of kids in Japan with their eyes out or dead from suffication due to the dangerous nature of their toys? Or are they just that much smarter than American kids?
I think this is a cultural issue.
American society is laced with frivilous lawsuits; any time an individual can find an opportunity to get rich at another's expense they'll take it. Factor in the millions and millions of dollars a large corporation carries, and you only increase the enticement.
Add to this the increasing absence of parental supervision and instruction and you get the toy laws we have today. The American people also have very set views on cartoons, toys and video games. The overwhelming majority feels these items are specific to children and their offered products should reflect that. Thus, you get GTA3 protestors and the like.
Japan has a far more understanding culture, and the fact that animation is a very mainstream medium helps the cause.

oh man! I never much liked the Optimus prime toy, even as a kid! But that is a work of art. hlj has it listed for $84, which I can stomach.
i got form blasto toys for 89 i think.
I'm pretty sure this will be available at the larger domestic retail chains. If nothing else, TRU will stock at your local store. The MSRP has been quoted around $70-75, so I'll try to find one locally and save on shipping and gouging.

going by that ebay auction are we to assume that the matrix will light up? thats pretty cool if it does (mmm mini blue leds).
i can definately see this toy calling out for die cast.
Yup. Light up matrix and all.
The unpainted pics show the diecast content, which is fairly significant.
-
One last update before I hit the books.
If anyone has yet to see it, this auction provides pictures of an unpainted prototype of Prime exhibiting the light up matrix (which is likely lit by the blue button on Prime's shoulder in the Toyfare pic) and the weapon accessories.

hey what was in the 100 most valuable toy list?
Not sure, the magazine scan was provided by wizard universe.
And while they're probably not on the list, with close to 9 days left these should be.

An interesting thing to note, Toyfare has published pictures of two versions of Prime's head. I hope the actual is painted blue rather than yellow, like the following, but I'll be buying regardless.
-
From the cover of November's Toyfare, a production sample of Masterpiece Prime. Holding Megatron, no less.
I think it looks perfect.

small tail fins and such is how the line art portrayed them.
This is completely untrue. According to Graham, the lineart shows no tail fin deviation from the standard VF-1's.
-
I'm unfamiliar with NCS, mind providing a link?
-
Graham has confirmed it will come with the red heatshield as this is the canon marking.
-
btw i jsut thought.,. if its that TALL a trailer would be HUGE
And you've answered your own question. A trailer would likely hike the price to the $150 range and cut out a lot of potential sales.

The rods are interchangeable and some dynamic poses require a combination of rod lengths. Other than that, I suppose shorter stands are rated to carry heavier weights.
