  1. my HLJ order says "This order is being processed for shipping" for some days now...

Does HLJ always take that long to ship out items, or is it because of the holidays in japan?

  2. It's just capitalism. Capitalism in a niche market for specialty items, no less.

Are you saying that if you had a Yamato toy that you bought at retail, you would sell it for $150 out of the kindness of your heart, if it was going for $500 +? If those are your personal beliefs I admire your courage sir! But I don't think it's realistic.

I had this discussion with a zealous Transformers fan a few months back when I was selling some vintage Transformers and Star Wars toys. He told me my prices were too high and it was exploitation to put items that high. I told him that he was full of cow pies, and that buying toys is a luxury. If you want to mark a toy at the high end of the collectors market and WAIT for the person that A. has the disposable income and B. the desire to buy that item at the highest market price, then you have every right to do that. It might not sell as fast, but it will sell because that buyer does exist. There isn't anything wrong with it in my mind. If you're not dying to sell right away, why not see if you can get the highest price you can.

Not to mention you pay ebay 10% and Paypal $2 percent + shipping. But that's how auctions work. You're paying to get as many eyeballs as possible and command the highest price.

I had a cherry Blue Gakken Alpha that had a simple repair and I sold it for super cheap. I could have waited around for the one person to buy it at a higher price, but I wanted it gone so I increase the amount of buyers who would consider it.

That said, Ebay prices are generally off from where you can get items in other places. They could be inflated $100-300 dollars depending on the item.

I never sold anything for a much higher price than retail.

And if i had a yamato Valk i'd like to sell because i don't ned it anymore, iwould sell it for the same amount i bought it for myself.

I do that because i met people who did the same.

And i don't want to ripp off people who are into the same hobby as i am.

Its the greed i dont like. I dont get it when people complain about scalpers on ebay, but try to do the same themselfs.

  3. Ok. I understand completely. Do you have any for sale for more reasonable prices? I would love to get a VF-4G for retail. :)

    no i have not.

But if i cannot find a reasonable price, i don't buy it.

    Simple as that!

Again.. these toys go for such high prices because people pay.

If no one pays 500$ for a max or miria, they would sell at much more moderate prices.

I dont blame people for making a little profit on items, but double the original they spent themselfs on the toy?

    NO WAY!

  4. I think it is INSANE to spend so much money on a toy ( and thats what it is in the end..).

Why are people willing to pay more then 5x the retail price?

I mean... thats the reason Scalpers exist. Because they know that somwhere, there is a totaly nuts person, who pays whatever they want them to pay.

Macross toys are a nice Hobby, but for my part, i will never pay +100$ and more just for a different color scheme and/or head-design.

I really want a SV-51, but in no way I'm paying 200$ and more for this.

You guys who are buying at these exorbitant prices are the reason these prices even exist.

People are moaning about scalpers on ebay, but at the same time, they sell their valks at double the original price or more here on the forum.

    Or they buy them.

    Thats kinda hypocritical...

sorry if my post is too OT.

I get angry evertime i see these kind of auctions..

  5. The joint on the right leg of my 19S that lets the legs swing out for an A-stance in battroid disintegrated into little crumbly bits. I'm honestly surprised it hasn't happened to anyone else. Even if it hadn't disintegrated not long after I got it, I wouldn't have been surprised if it had snapped under normal use instead of just being displayed in battroid mode. I don't really know how Yamato expected a small, thin hollow plastic rod to tolerate the stresses it undergoes when you move the legs around. I handle the legs on my F and P very gingerly now and only move the legs while holding the intake section and the back piece that connects the leg between my fingers and just hope the rods keeping the legs on on those don't also disintegrate. I need to learn how to make a replacement part in shapeways or something so my 19S can be useable in battroid mode again.

Can u show a picture of the broken part?

Im currently displaying my 19S in fghter mode, but it would be nice to know where i have to be carefull.
