  1. I would also add that Arcadia is competing with Bandai. Look at the VF-25 Renewal. Starting price is about 16000 - 20000 Yen. Not to say the construction quality is the same between the two, but if people are willing to pay 16000 Yen for a bandai valk, well then Arcadia is actually selling lower than the competition. Honestly I feel that 15000 Yen for a VF-1 is a bit much too when compared to past retail costs and all one gets extra is a stand (not accounting for inflation and rising labor/engineering costs). But if recall the launch arm for the Yamato valks was about 4000 Yen anyway, so not it is just bundled. As for the YF-19, for me it is pricey as was the VF-4g, but when you consider that Bandai valks are 20000 Yen, and then if you want super parts or armor that is another 10000 Yen, then Arcadia is about in the same ball park. I only wish this came with an updated fold booster too. I do not see Arcadia packaging a separate fold booster because the extras already include the fast packs and other weapons.

Isn't the only Bandai valk starting at 20000 yen the vf-27 with super pack? But even that is sell for less than MSRP now. The 16000-20000 price is after a markup.

I picked up the latest Bandai valk (vf-25a) for 12800 yen.

  2. Yeah ebay is always overpriced so I will never shop there and you can with a bit of google searching find that small japanese store that has one in inventory and not charging an arm and a leg.

I agree. I have stopped buying on eBay since it is almost always overprice. Once in a while you may be able to find one with a reasonable price. But you will have to look hard. I have had better luck using Google search to find smaller online store that is not well known.

  3. Its good to start seeing the pics of the actual VF-25A and see people post up on it.

I was worried that VF-25A would turn out like the VF-171CF with all of the problems that occurring with it.

I hope not. vf171 cf is the only one with issues so far. I hope that's a one off.

  4. What I usually do is to remove the shoulder piece with the NUNs completely during transformation and lodge it back when it is in either mode. By doing that, you are not putting unnecessary pressure on the NUNs piece.

That's probably the only way to keep them from breaking for those lucky enough to not have that happened yet.

  5. they just responded no go... (it's discontinued and they are not able to get replacement parts from bandai)

Even if Bandai has replacement parts they won't do any good if they are of the same inferior quality. Bandai needs to re-engineer that part with different material.

  6. Comparatively, with all the extras, it's not that expensive.

VF-4 was 280$ and didn't even come with a gunpod.

The VF-4G is different (for me at least). That was/is considered the Holy Grail of Macross toy by many.

  7. You should contact HLJ if you got it from them. Their customer service is excellent and they might just exchange it for you and cover the return shipping cost as well.

I second that. If you got it from HLJ, they will take care of you and make things right.

  8. Saw it in hk tonight...going for 1280 hk dollars...not many takers...it's cheaper than the rvf 25 was a few months back...hopefully they'll drop the price a little lower...box makes it look too tan...any reviews up yet?

hong kong shops always start with a high price. Price will drop if it doesn't sell.

  9. I'm not particularly excited about the idea of shapeways replacement triangles. What are the odds of a proper replacement ever becoming available? We were able to get those vf-1s arms.

We are talking Bandai here, so don't hold your breath.

THE PRESSURE - THE PRESSURE! The semester is almost over for me (3 weeks) at uni, then I'll get on to it - no doubt about it, it is going to be a TRICKY piece to get right...

thank you. thank you. thank you.

  10. 25F is still at a relative low price though it sold pretty well and beginning to be moderate in difficulty to find, it still can be found. mandarake just sold one for 13,000yen (131usd) which is pretty good.

I need to check Mandarake more often.

  11. I think its just that all of Macross collecting is in a soft market right now. Some people who went nuts in the great inflation of early '13 are selling some stuff back, and people who missed the inflation curve are cashing in late. Plus the fact that Arcadia is going full steam ahead. It's a perfect storm.

Prices are pretty good. Pretty, pretty, pretty good.

Not sure why Bandai's stuff is so hard to sell right now, or why you can find it so relatively cheap in the right places. I assume it's just over saturation and the recent renewal releases being so well distributed.

It's a good time to be collecting.

prices are pretty good for certain ones only. The vf-25f/s are still hard to find at a reasonable price, right? Many folks say that it is just a matter of time before they are re-issued again. But with the poor showing of the recent relelases (rvf-25, vf-171 cf, vf-27, vf-25a), may cause Bandai to put off any more re-issue.

  12. It makes no sense at all if no new fold booster is available for the new YF-19.

Not everyone has the old booster from the previous release, so I'll be ending up with the old fastpacks that I do not need if I have to find the old booster package just to get the fold booster.

I hope Mr. K did intend to give us a surprise when he said it's a secret because the only thing that doesn't include in the new package deal now is just the fold booster.

Maybe the surprise is that the fold booster comes with it as a bonus. Since they are including the bridge, why not the booster itself too.

  13. That's good to know. I'm glad I won't have to buy a brand new fold booster that only works with the new 19... unless those are adapters meant for a new fold booster...

If there will be a new fold booster, wouldn't the adapters comes with the new booster? I sure hope those are for the old ones.

I've only ordered from HLJ once and it was a $8 wristband.

Will an item like this get hit with a customs fee?

No customs fee if you are in the US.
