  1. cracks would be a big problem for me. I wouldn't even call it mint. I would let things like minor paint chipping go but cracking is breaking to me.

    I would stay away from it. Low viz aren't in high demand so I recommend picking up a MISB

  2. I hope the re-issues come with clear green blade made of the same material as alto's visors. That would make it look like it's glowing - just like the anime!

    I also wished Bandai was listening to some of the suggestions on this forum.

    tho... as much as we all wish/complain, I don't think they'll redo the DX mold to look more like the model (i don't recall Bandai redoing molds... like they've never released a better mold to the VF-1 after the chunky monkey). It's sold well so why mess with a working formula.

  3. Wrong.

    Presumably, the Quarter is 1/3 the size of the Macross. Remember, the Quarter is 1/4 an NMC. NMCs are 1600m, SDFNs are 1200m.

    So, at 1/2000, the Quarter is 8", but if it's half the size of the Yamato, it's 1/1000 at 1' tall.

    I wants both...

    oh yeah you're right after a quick look up.

    So the quarter is an odd scale of 1:1333. I wonder how accurate the statements of the Bandai quarter being half the height of the Yamato SDF

    Math:

    q=size of real quarter

    r=size of model quarter

    s=size of real SDF

    t=size of model quarter

    3q=1s

    2r=1t

    t=s/2000

    So,

    2r=s/2000

    2r=3q/2000

    r=3q/4000

    r=q/1333

  4. I totally agree with logos there.

    I don't think my collections will go up in value much but I keep a lot of things MISB because I just can't find it in my heart to open them or sell them.

    I have a set budget per year for fun things. And it's not changing for this year. I've almost burned through half of it tho :(

  5. you forgot the longer and better looking front landing gears in that pic... but they're dettachable... aren't they?

    oh yeah i forgot about those. I think they are the pop out ones.... more pieces to lose ^_^

    Overall, from the pics, I'm liking what I see.

    In regards to the VF-25 coming off as brittle and weak, I think some of the older valks will lend itself better at this since the shoulder of the VF-25 is so narrow

  6. The 1/100 VF-25s look really good. To an untrained eye like mine, they look like the DX which I'm OK with.

    $50 is a little too high for me to consider for a parts former. According to the photos, to transform from robot to gerwalk, I'd have to pull apart almost everything off and re-plug everything in. I'd be OK with that if it was a ~$25 toy but not for double that price. If the price drops, I might pick up a couple to display. Maybe they'll be small enough to sit on the Yamato SDF-1's deck

    Edit: Added link to photo

  7. I hope they do this SDF-1 well. I don't need another low quality, minimal detail SDF-1. $500 is a lot but considering a SV-51 cost around $210 on HLJ before it went on sale, a huge @ss SDF-1 is worth $500. Transformers MP-04 already cost $210. I think it's fairly reasonable for a toy that isn't going to be as common as MP-04. I'll have to sacrifice a couple VF-1s to get this but if they do a good job I'll pick it up.

  8. During this time I'm been building up my collection. People are selling a lot of their collections on ebay so I've had some good pickings. But prices for toys such as Macross and Transformers Binaltech aren't ridiculously low but more inline with MSRP.

    I hope everyone here is able to weather the financial storm cuz I really like looking at the photos of your collections. I wish I had so many valks.

  9. oh, but a voice change vf-1s helmet is both large scale and it transforms... your voice.

    ^_^

    But I think it's going to be the SDF-1... unless yamato is gonna do a 1:32 scale vf-1 :lol:

    LOL... I'd be really disappointed if they turn macross into what transformers has become. Then all the VF-1s will include auto-morph and blinking lights.

    If they do a SDF-1 i doubt it'll even come close to being on scale with the 1/60 VF-1s. I'm hoping for the monster as it's still large and easier to match their current line of 1/60 toys. And perhaps they can ride the MF wave as there's a monster in it.

    A enemy mech would be a definite change. perhaps i'll have to resort to the old matchbox robotech toys for that :(

  10. no, it's just ugly, and some people don't want to spend a hundred dollars plus on ugly.

    of all my Yamato's, the only ones I've ever felt uncomfortable transforming were the old v.1 1/60's. even my old 1/72 VF-19A is still in one piece even if it is floppy.

    I'm itching to buy a VF-25F myself to display/play. I still have my Yamato in box. Not willing to open it. If/when yamato comes out with a VF-25, i'd probably keep those in boxes too
