Hello Folks,
Not sure, if it counts, but I'm selling MIB 1/48 Yamato for collection on another thread. Just an FYI.
-
Ok, my jaw drop when I saw that when I saw the VF-25S armored Ozma. Common Bandai, just bundle this up with renewal VF-25S Ozma. Too many Tamashii exclusive non sense.
-
I'm very bias but I adore the 1/48 Hikaru VF-1S with the Strike Pack.
-
I know were talking about the VF-4G however since Yamato is making this bad boy I want to see one in this color scheme with this famous pilot as well.
Yes please, have the VF-4 in Hikaru's skull squadron scheme...
-
When is the ETA for this?

Front view of 1/3000 DYRL SDF-1
NICEEEEE
Thanks for posting that picture. I've been waiting for Yamato to tackle the SDF-1, after a decade it's here. Hopefully at a more resonable price, but chances of that are slim, with no competitors. I mean Bandai has the MF line but even that is not a direct competitor to what Yamato is making. And Toynami, enough said.
I apologize for going on a tangent, but I'm loving the fact we have a new SDF-1 coming...

1/2000 完全變形 Macross SDF-1 大量生產化
*** this could only be the mass produced version we have been curious about... 1/2000, what they wanna ask for it??? Give us a break Yamato please!
SO does it actually have LEDs?
When is it due for release?
I hope they use the $2000 they got from the people who bought it, to help bring down the cost of this thing. I would have been able to justify getting one if it was a completed toy. But even then It's very hard to swallon 2G's for a couple of months...
-
So what happened to the original color scheme on display earlier?
I like that better than the current toy colors... Release it as a movie version? Maybe?

more pics
That is such a tease, damn it
That was my most anticipated toy for next year... set aside some funds for awhile planning to get two, now I can't even justify getting one. That price!
I've waited for Yamato to make the SDF-1, might as well wait some more.

i wonder if is the right scale in comparison with the vf 25
It's difficult to tell from that picture. But in fighter mode it is slightly longer than the VF-25, its length is 18.8m compare to the VF-25's to the 18.72m. And slightly shorter in battroid to the VF-25's. If it's at least in decent scale to the DX VF-25, the difference should be minute.
-
I think the 27 also has thigh swivels on the knee joints. I wouldn't be surprised if Bandai kicks a DX VF-25 1.5 with longer gear like the 27 as well as the thigh swivels next year.
I agree with you Bandai needs to make a VF-25 Version 1.5 or 2.0.
-
Not sure if it's been posted already or not, but here are the new VF-27DX test shot photos from the latest Dengeki Hobby magazine.
Note the gunpod attached in fighter mode, the (correct) long front landing gear and what appears to be moveable nozzels on the outboard engine nacelles.
Can't wait to get this, but definitely looking forward more to a green mass production unit, rather than Brera's purple version.

I've pre-orded this already. It looks a lot better. And when you can attach the rifle with the landing gears down it, is just adds to it. Hopefully Bandai doesnt use that shiny plastic. Something like this but not too matte colored
And that VF-25 Tornado Pack looks pretty decent. Can we get the VF-171EX Super Nightmare Plus, that sounds so cool. Even better if it was a toy
-
Interesting, hope its not that small....
-
I guess I'll wait a little bit longer and see what happens... but Save i'll remember to ask you later on when I want to get one.
-
I've been looking around and have no luck lately, can somebody help me out. Or at least point me to the direction on where I can get it. Appreciate it.
-
Has anybody here have any experience with amiami.com seems like some good prices? Any input is appreciated, thanks.
-
What is up with the japanese and their fascination with love triangles ever since the begining of macross.... ;D
-
I have a feeling that theres going to be a movei version of this coming.... as with most if not all the frontier valks

OK, had a long talk on the phone with Yamato last night and here's what I was told.
- The $2,000 SDF-1 is an exact replica of Yamato’s prototype and is being marketed as such. It is neither a toy, or a model kit per say.
- Each one is being individually built by the prototype maker, not mass produced in a Chinese toy factory. This is why the high cost. I was told that it can often cost a million yen getting prototypes made. Yamato will only be having a small run of these made and had to negotiate quite hard with the maker to get the price they did.
- It will be sold unpainted.
- It will be sold partially assembled. The major sub-assemblies, such as the ARMDs, body, legs, etc will be pre-assembled and then the customer just has to bolt everything together.
- The joints will be ratchet joints and will be made of hard nylon for durability.
- The main material IIRC is High Density Polyethylene (HDP), which has excellent tensile strength and impact resistance. I was told it is 6 times stronger than the type of resin used for garage kits. As mentioned, HDP is widely used on cars.
- Why are Yamato even selling this? – Well, when they originally had the prototype made, Yamato thought that it would be possible to produce it in ABS at a lower cost. Unfortunately, with the tooling limitations of the toy factories they use, it was not possible to mass produce it. So rather than scrap the whole project and write it off as a loss, they decided to still offer it to those hard-core fans who just had to have a large scale SDF-1.
- For those wanting a smaller, more affordable SDF-1, I’ll just say that patience is a virtue and the virtuous are often rewarded.
And yes, for those curious, I have been offered one and call me crazy, but I will probably turn it down, as a) it's too big for my shoebox sized Hong Kong appartment and b) I'd honestly feel guilty about accepting such an expensive gift for free.
Graham
Thanks for clarifying this sitaution. Alright I'm going to call you CRAZY but we each have our own morality and ethics....You dont want it to be too smalll of a SDF-1 but anything that looks good and at a reasonable price Im probably going to end up buying. I wouldnt mind spending if the target price point is arond $500-$700 for a good size and detailed SDF-1.
Again thanks.

It's the toy forum's turn to complain about the tornado pack.
Something about the design of this super pack or tornado pack that I like. Put this in a bundle and ill buy it.
Anyway do you people think that you can put that large rifle underneath the VF-27 in fighter mode with the landing gears down?
-
Actually shortly after the ThunderHammer, we started talking about doing the DYRL Macross at 1/2000 scale. Which would be 6 inches bigger than the Yamato. Fully transformable and superdetailed. And casted in color for people that didnt want to paint it. We were looking at between $500 and $800 (depending on how complicated the transformation was). We thought that it was doable. Then I guess someone in HK found out about the roject and told us to forget about it because Yamato was coming out with a toy. It was safer to come out with a kit back then because there weren't so much toys to compete with. But now the licenses are being given out like crazy, I'm not sure if its even worth a try.
And to think... for one of these you coulda had both versions... lol.
Care to take another shot at this I know Im not the only one that want this...
-
Anyone seen this yet?
-
Someone should change this thread's title to Yamato $2000 DYRL MACROSS, The Fortress that Costs the Mostess
LOL....
Anyway hopefully they make a toy out of this instead of a model kit. I could probably irk out sme money to get a toy version but thats price is stretching it.... but a model kit thats a no. Just waiting patiently and see what happens next.

Got it. Thanks for letting me know.
I'm sorry but I couldn't see cause the auctions have ended (and I don't have a yahoo japan account) but are these that are listed above MIB or opened/used? Thank you.
