  1. Just got this a few days ago in Kong Kong. Pretty cool but i thought they were going to fix the missile tolerances. They fall out so easily. The hinged plates under the plane and the small red pieces at the end of the plane also tend to fall out... nice toy but wish there wasnt so many pieces that could fall out lol.

  2. Basically, it's kinda the same without the open world aspect. Though what I really like with the PSP Macross games is that it has almost ALL the valks from different series. Imagine yourself riding the VF-4G, VF-2SS, Cutlass, and other valks. ;)

I did notice missing stuff. Does it control in pretty much the same way? Thanks :).

  3. The Arcadia triple hinge kinda bothers me now that I've seen how Bandai executed it. It just looks better, and the Yamato was very similar. The Bandai feels like they took the best parts of the yamato, and the arcadia, designed the toy, and redesigned it with the new features they waned to add. While the toy does seem over engineered at first blush, it doesn't seem fiddly enough to be called that.

That triple hinge and the gap on tp pof the chest right above the nose cone on the Yamato/Arcasia 19s are my main gripes. and probably the ankle ball joints. Still cant wait to get the VF-19 Kai.

  4. Check out anymoon.com's review of the Hi-Metal, he shows the transformation process. The arms should slide backwards and out pretty easily. As far as the wings, I have a Focker 1S, Max 1J and Hik 1J, and all three were purchased used, and all three have tight wings, tight everything. Not a loose joint on any of them.

Got it. First time the hinge was really stiff so I couldnt get the arm out without it popping of the ball joint but its fine now. Thanks.

That review definitely needs an update... and it will probably get one right around the time the first Hi-Metal R toy is delivered to me.

    Looking forwards to it :).

  5. Rearranging my shelves, and realized I had all of my 19's in battroid.

Nice collection. So how is the Yamato 19 in comparison to the VF-19 Advance? Is it still worth getting one (any) even if I have the Advance?

  6. Worth to grab one?

Its a cool toy if you dont mind the legs being inarticulated at the hip.

where i can find it on a decent price?

Try searching on yahoo japan. Occasionally cheap ones do turn up. I grabbed mine for 12000yen a few weeks ago and it was mib.

Edit: i meant the original dx. Not the sp or wings of valkyria reissue.

  7. I recently got the VF-1J Max from the first Hi Metal line. How are you supposed to pull the arms out in gerwalk mode without popping them out of the ball joint? Seems the shoulder parts its connected to is a bit too tight? Also the wings are very loose. They wont fall off but they move with gravity. Is it supposed to be like that?

  8. I accidentally pulled the leg hip hing too hard (due to the known issue of one side being way too stiff) and scraped some of the plastic behind it so it the leg now moves back more than it should... Probably should've tried to loosen that leg a little.

  9. Others may have already noticed this before, but every time I see this shot, I really think that the wing boosters on the VF-19 were just hastily added on and not designed to be part of it. In fact, I think they just fastened on VF-25 boosters onto it. I say this because of the gap between the edge of the wing and the booster (encircled in red). If these boosters were really made for the VF-19, then there shouldn't be a gap that big (like in the toy).

I always thought they were VF-25 Super Boosters *(well, remodelled ones anyway).
