While I did indeed hear Robotech first, I enjoy the SDFM music much more especially the opening. Not to knock RT's music it was fine for what it was used for. The voice acting(Translation and robotech masters crap aside) was much better than the new Macross dub but that might just be first hearing bias there though.

But overall I prefer to watch my Animeigo release with the better Japanese track when I watch the series.

That would be great. Or even a "complete edition" that includes everything from both so that no scene is left out and just make it one long epic.

Macross Plus: Deculture Edition, I bet some bored fan with the proper hardware/software will put one together eventually.

Personally I like them both, each have strong points and some weaknesses as pointed out. Personally I'd like to see the extra scenes/slightly different viewpoints from the movie spliced into the OVA and leaving the overall OVA's structure itself intact.

On a side note, I think I watched eps 1-3 about 20 times before getting to see part 4 that wait was killer.

I have to say, I rather like the FanClub song. Reminds me of something, can't put my finger on it.

Some of the song reminds me of a song from the 70's(and no I wasn't born in the 70's) but can't place it either and it's bugging me.

the music will not be like this, if it is done by japanese. it is very holloywood movie like orchestra music, ranka about my star is surprising good in full version.

Yoko Kanno works in many different languages and styles. She has a Jazz Band called The Seatbelts, the Macross Plus music was done along with the Israel Phil Harmonic. She's a very unique music producer and we are all better off for it.

I have been enjoying the OST just released I'll have to order it when I can afford to, don't have a favorites list yet but am compiling one.

I just made my first rough Animated Gif in 10 years guess I better watch out for Vajra too hehe.

You need a program that can make Animated Gifs, then take screen captures of the video frame by frame. It plays and loops itself automatically once assembled. I haven't messed around with them in almost 10 years so just do a search for Animated Gifs.

I brought it up because people brought up the canonlogical(not sure if it's a word so I just made it up if so)significance of events that occurred in the movie in regards to whether Mikhail might be able to Macronize himself. I just found it strange that given they changed so much of the base story and even social relationship of the Zentraedi(not only in regards to not mixing but in this case a complete war against each other) that a lot of the movie itself could in itself be considered almost complete fiction within the realm of the Macross Universe. Unless I am wrong and besides keeping design elements they use a blending of both the TV shows storyline and the movies in regards to Space War I.

I guess I should have been more specific. I was going to delete it but I couldn't find a place to do so not used to this BB software yet so just left it, sorry for the odd tangent and will refrain from doing so in the future.

It's funny how they stuck the Movie into the TV Canon storyline, but changing Space War I in such a way would be like making movie about WW2 with Hitler a female and it being a Matriarchal Society. But what's done is done.

I'm starting to think for those who do frequent body changes they just store them and transfer the brain back and forth. It would be a huge waste of resources to constantly be growing, breaking down and rebuilding new bodies(no matter how efficient of biological recycling systems they use). Not to mention all the potential replication errors that could happen.
