  1. Transormers are my 1st love but I cant see any of them except the 1st wave Autobot cars, the Decepticon jets & Prime being real.

Check out the Transformer Alternators. These are sort of like the G1 toys -- they change into licensed vehicles, like the Dodge Viper or the Subaru Impreza. They have stuff like opening doors and hoods and detailed interiors, along with a fair degree of articulation in robot mode.

I also think the VF-1 is a masterpiece, in terms of design. It's extremely elegant.

  2. All of the above except for staging mock battles. (I only have one Macross toy, a 1/48 VF-1 Valkyrie, so mock battles typically aren't an option -- although I do sometimes pose it in a showdown shooting type pose with another toy, like a Transformer.)

I do occasionally swoop my VF up and down in fighter mode. I also like posing it and transforming it.

  3. while that is outragous I think Jetfires prices are inflating because there is no chance of a VF-1 being rereleased under hasbro with jetfire colors.

Probably not, but you gotta admit an Alternators Jetfire based of the 1/48 Hikaru Super VF-1J has a certain appeal to it. :)

Except that Alternators are all 1/24, which means it would have to be twice as big...:D

  4. Hm. I think a spoiler warning would be appropriate. Also, this is somewhat of a newbie question. (Not that I have the answer.)

You're right -- I didn't see the newbie thread, sorry about that.

Somebody close this thread, or delete it, please. I'll check the newbie thread.

  5. SPOILER WARNING

I haven't seen the original mini-series version of Macross Plus yet. I wanted to know -- does Guld die in that one? He suffers a rather gristly death in the movie version.

I'll be getting the mini-series anyway, just wanted to know. Thanks.

  6. I started buying toys again (after I stopped being a kid) a year ago. The first Macross toy I ever experienced is the 1/48 Max. I think it rocks.

Incidentally, do you have to remove the legs on any of the Yamato non-VF-1 1/60 toys (like, say, the VF-11 or the YF-21) to transform them?

  7. There's something weird about my Max A-Type -- in Battroid mode, the side torso panels don't stay in position. They keep coming loose.

This doesn't bother me, though: most of the time I just leave them flat. On such a superlative toy, a tiny issue like that isn't that big a deal.

I still like my 1/48 Valk very very much. :)
