  1. I was curious what software you are building this model in? Are you working in polygons? The mesh on the fuselage also looks it has been tessellated to get a smoother, higher polycount, is this correct? The reason I am asking is that I am a 3D modeler (3DS Max) and am currently working on a model to be 3D printed and looking for some useful tips. Your model looks great and I would be interested in a 1/72 version. Thanks.

  2. Hey Capt,

The new stuff looks great. The joints are coming along impressively. I look forward to seeing the next 2 installments (more pictures please). I just noticed something though. In picture 5 that you posted, the upper torso has "ride armor stowage" written in marker. Is this an indication of things to come? I would love to get a 7th installment featuring the pilot/ride armor + all the variant specific Legioss parts. Keep up the good work. Also, when do you next(4th) installment payment?

  3. Whichever scale I end up going with, I want to try to include some 3D printed Valkyries and launch arms to include with it, that can be placed on the launch bays :)

This is a great ideal. Maybe you could also include some destroids as well. Then you could also sell the valkyries and destroids as a separate set too. I'm sure people would gladly by multiples of a mech set. If it sells well, maybe you could then do a Prometheus and a Daedalus version as well. Then you would have an entire line.

As for scale, what about 1/700? It is a standard ship scale and there would be a lot of possibilities with commercially existing kits for dioramas and such. I know that this would make the kit more expensive though. How long would it be in 1/700? Just a suggestion. I hope this gets made regardless of scale. Good luck!

  4. Hey Capt.,

I got the kit in this morning, it looks great! I was wondering about the status of the instructions. Also, about the metal casting, I was recently looking at a Micro Tools catalog, there was a home metal casting kit in there. The metal they use can be melted with a simple candle flame/mini-torch and uses rubber(?) molds. I am not sure about the strengh limitations of that metal though. I only mention it because it would seem like a economical way to keep cost down for you without having to resort to an outside vendor, especially if the production run is small (20 kits?).

Also, do you plan to adapt the current fuselage parts so that it can accomodate a future folded ride-suit and pilot kit if you should decide to do so?

PS - I will send the second payment soon.

  5. That ship would be quite massive, even in 1/5000 scale and honestly, I don't know if it can be made in a cost-feasible manner. Breetai on the other hand is very manageable in 1/5000. 1/72 too ^_^

    Hey Capt.,

I just sent payment out for 1 copy of the Quelamitz. In regards to my previous post, I didn't realize how big the Nupetiet-Vergnitzs was in 1/2500 scale. The only cost-feasible approach would probably be vacuforming it I suppose. My next 1/2500 suggestion would be the "Quiltra Queleual Class Multipurpose Transport", the other, smaller whale-like ship.

  6. Count me in for 1 copy of the 1/2500 version. I would also consider the 1/5000 depending on the price. You might consider picking just one scale (the 2500 or 5000) and making other sister ships in the chosen scale. Makes it easier for collectors to get a "complete set" instead of splitting up the market with 2 different scales.

  7. Hey Capt.

I have a question about baking the parts to harden them. Its there a set time limit to bake the pieces or can we wait/procrastinate (say a year+ later)?

Just checking. Also, is it better to work on the parts first (like cutting off the pour stubs, light sanding and drilling) and then baking the parts afterwards?

Thanks. Looking forward to you next kit!

  8. Hello John,

Payment sent for 1 Graug. It looks beautiful from your buildup pictures. Looking forward to getting it. Get some well deserved rest before your next project.

My suggestions for upcoming designs. I would be happy with either suggestion 1 or 2.

    1) Glamor VC-33 Mom's Kitchen (you fix-it positionable wing thrusters and flaps?). - Reminds me of a Luigi Colani-ish design.

    2) Glamor ES-11D Cat's Eye Reconnaissance Spaceplane. - This would be awesome too!

    3) Siokorvsky Sea Sergeant Helicopter

    4) McNell Douglar EC-33B Disk Sensor
