Actually their processing times are explained in the FAQ:
http://www.hlj.com/faq/q39.html
Actually their FAQ answers nearly all the questions that come up regularly.
Not defending them as some accuse me, just passing on info and neither do my orders get processed any faster because I live in Japan.

I stood next to it at the Show where it was shown off.
Another impressive stuff is the 1:1 Fireball SG suit from SF3D/MAK.
Or the all-metal 1:1 Laputa Robot at the Gibhli Museum.
I think the Laputa Robot and the Scopedog were done by the same people.

I got a few more locatiosn out in the west of Tokyo, but peple best have a local guide them as some of the places are hard to find. Like Magic Box in Kokubunji or Times, both don't sell cheap but stock a lot of older/rare kits.
Another good location is Shinjuku, shops there include Sakuraya Hobby, Volks, Yellow Submarine, The Hobbit and a few smaller shops.

Other areas to visit for goods are Ikebukuro (more lady orientated), Kichijoji(lots of anime studios, a few shops, Gibhli Museum and lots of anime play around that area too), and Tachikawa(home of Kotobukiya).
HTH.

I just placed an order with HLJ, like right this second.
They say it will process on Jan 28th.
I am just curious on how long they will take and process something inside of Japan.
Rob
The reason for the 28th is that the HLJ staff is away for the weekend, some guys/gals come in though to do some work.
Takes my orders usually about 1 week to be processed(as per their FAQ), after that it gets shipped via Sagawa Takyu-bin(another 2 days to my door).

You used this e-mail address: trouble@hlj.com I guess.

Zen-Builder, do you work for hlj? If so, can you please ask around and find out why there was a ton of gundam items [MG Strike E IWSP, 1/100 Virtue, 1/144 Gundam 00 merchandise] that were never up for pre-order with early bird, yet earlier this week they were listed under the "order stop" status? This happened again with the MG Black Tri Star zaku and 1/100 Gundam Kyrios...
I don't work for HLJ, but have friends there and been to their old warehouse a few times.
Will forward the question, but might take a few days in response as it is the weekend now.

Your call.
But HLJ higher management can't fix a problem that they are not aware off.

Let me know WHO you talked to and I get Scott or one of the other presidents to have a look into it.

Did you actually contact them about why it took that long?
According to their FAQ and guys that work there(I know a few) processing should take max of one week.
Also they recently hired extra staff after the move as they simply didn't have the man-power to cope with the daily volume of orders and packaging. One Packer handles around 200 orders daily add to that the wholesale side.
Said that you could always try Rainbow 10, Hobby Search, etc but I also hear problems with those shops.

AFAIK, I know they always shipped daily, needs to be done with their volume of orders.
That was one of the reasons for the move as they had trucks blocking the road trying to deliver or pickup.
The 2-3 times a week in the FAQ I linked is how often they check orders for shipping preparation.
