  1. Someone noticed when the Hikaru 1S was released that the particular way the kit was made allowed for a possible Max & Miria scheme, he was right.

This must have been planned since the failed beginning.

You are referring to this post:

    http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=37595&p=1057886

    (Please excuse my self-promotion.)

They didn't change Arm armor, is not the TV design. It's straight recolor from Strike pack movie version.

I'm a little disappointed when they can make an effort to break down whole parts just for the sake of color separation, but missing a big point like the difference between TV and movie designs of the arm armor.

This VF-1J Super Valkyrie Milia Ver,, as well as the Max Ver. (standing on her left) are Premium Bandai online exclusives. (Order begins mid-September, release in December 2013.) This way, Bandai can perhaps limit their lost on these two.

  2. Bandai is paving the way to make TV version's VF-1J for Max and Millia, and might as well VF-1A for Max and Kakizaki. Here's what I observed:

    post-6994-0-83492300-1372449283.jpg

The knee armor parts B27 and B28.

    The counter-vernier nozzle parts B18 and B21.

The lower leg armor parts C11 and A11, as well as A15 with C2 and C8.

They work perfectly to recreate TV version Max's and Millia's VF-1J.

And looking at the spruce switches (in red circles) around the finger parts in spruce "F", I have a sneaky feeling that there will be round fingers for TV version.

  3. If you are interested in a 1/100 transformable VF-4, then check this one out:

    http://experten.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/vf4/index.html

Sorry the blog is in Japanese only. But when I first saw it, I have been drooling since. Unfortunately anything Experten produced is only in small quantities and on sale only in Japan at special events (one-day license).

Here's another site you can check:

    http://www.e2046.com/product.php?products_id=12117

It appears to be a re-cast of the Experten VF-4. I have placed a pre-order since the beginning of July, 2010. Now, two months later the status is still in pre-order. I have no idea for how much longer I have to wait. This kit is transformable, and even the original Experten kit requires the buyers to get their own machine screws and poly-caps in order to put it together. So perhaps the re-cast also requires the buyers to get their own screws and poly-caps.

  4. Very nice, Yamato included the "feet covers" this time. The "feet covers" -- very much like the shoulder covers -- improves the overall proportion of the Armored Valkyrie. If you look at the 1/48 version, a majority of the vector nozzles were covered by the leg armors, which makes the feet looking particularly tiny. I like this new 1/60 Armored Valkyrie.

  5. Note in the sign on the left (3rd pic below), there's also mention of 1/100 scale. Can somebody please translate what it says.

    Translation:

(Tentative title) New Action Figure Series

At 1/100 scale, with simple transformation gimmick on board, poses just like in the show can be displayed!

  6. GAAAAAHHHH!!!!!! IS THE WEATHERED 1/48 FOCKER WF EXCLUSIVE OR ISN'T IT!!!??? THIS IS KILLING ME!!!!!!!

Calm down, it is NOT a Wonder Festival exclusive.

According to this link, Yamato is selling this weathered VF-1S as an advance release at a special price (17800 yen) and with a limited quantity, especially for the "25th Anniversary Macross Museum" (East 2 Hall E Block K, if you are going to WonFes) at Wonder Festival 2008 [Winter].

I would expect the general release to be a little pricier than 17800 yen.

Also according to the same link, Yamato will be displaying at their booth the following:

    Macross Series:

Macross Plus 1/60 Perfect Transformation YF-21 (Expected Release Date: April 2008)

Macross DYRL 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-1S Roy Focker (ERD: September 2008)

Macross DYRL 1/60 Perfect Transformation VF-1S Strike Valkyrie (ERD: September 2008)

Macross DYRL 1/60 Strike and Super Pack for Perfect Transformation VF-1 (ERD: September 2008)

1/200 Variable Fighters Collection Series 1 (ERD: April 2008)

    GN-U (Dou) Series:

#001 Macross Plus YF-19 Battroid (Expected Release Date: May 2008)

#002 Macross Plus YF-21 Battroid (ERD: May 2008)

#003 Macross Plus VF-11B Battroid (ERD: May 2008)

    and many other non-Macross items...

  7. I suspect that this Tomahawk will NOT be weathered. Disappointing as I may sound, but it will look like coloured plastic. Remember the 1/60 Queadluun Rau?

Anyhow, I will still get this Tomahawk, for it will look real nice next to my future acquisitions of perfect transformation Valkyries. Plus, the other Destroids will be coming too.

  8. Small? Yes, but affordable. According to the text each one is about 6 to 9 cm long in fighter mode, but they are only 473 yen each.

All I am hoping is that they come in a case of 10, with one of each (including the "Secret Item") in every case, so that you can collect the entire series by just purchasing an entire case.

Looking at the assortment of this series 1, I would like to speculate that future series will allow the VF-4G Lighting III to be a member of the "obscure" branch...

Come to think of it, 1/200 is big enough for the technically savvy folks to turn them into "full articulation" figures. MechTech, I can hear your screams of joy.

  9. Guys, sorry if this has been brought up/explained already, but is the re-issue of the 1/144 Q-Rau actually poseable?

And does it come with canopy closed feature? I pre-ordered! :) I'm really wanting a good half poseable Q-Rau for my awesome 1/144 Valks. :p I have got the 3rd mission Q-Rau and Glaug from - http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN922039.

Love the Glaug to bits. What scale are these again?

Yes, the 1/144 Queadluun Rau is poseable. As a matter of fact, right now I am staring at it's 15th anniversary re-issue (from 10 years ago, still unassembled...)

Since this re-issue is essentially the same kit from 25 years ago (originally by Imai), it doesn't employ poly caps at the joints. So if you play with it too much, the styrene-on-styrene joints will become loose.

The canopy is movable, so you can open and close it as much as you want. Inside is half of a pilot figure with arms bent(no room for the legs.) But if you prefer, you can build the pilot standing upright with arms straight.

You can select the missile hatches on the back-pack to be opened or closed. But the legs missile hatches can only stay closed as there is no part for open hatches.

By the way, it comes with a water decal sheet, too.
