  1. Not quite. The VF-25 is the latest variable fighter to come out of development. Apparently it is so new, no one really knew it was being deployed yet. There is plenty of speculation whether it is the next front line fighter for New UN Spacy or just a new fighter designed for colonial defence (similar to the VF-5000).

It does seem to mark a slow down in fighter development since the last new fighter we know of was the VF-22 back in 2045 (in the Macross 7 series) and some have speculated that Spacy is "refitting" existing designs such as the VF-17 and turning them into VF-171s for example.

Am I the only person around here that noticed this? I'd say its a VF-25 as in 25 for the 25th anniversary. I highly doubt the number has anything to do with the what series of valkyrie this is.

  2. I am not to sure about that. From what I recalled some members were successful in ordering parts from HLJ and some were not. The funny thing about it as well is that I remembered some members did received an email informing them that HLJ was not able to order the parts they requested from Yamato, but after a while they received an email stating that the parts they ordered have been shipped.

For those of you wondering about the availability of Yamato parts I just checked my account on HLJ and in the "orders just shipped" section is an entry for "Yamato Parts." So I guess you can still get parts through HLJ. The strange thing is they didn't drop me an email or anything to let me know the parts shipped. But I don't care as long as I get my leg armor pieces for my VF-11B FP. I'll let everyone know when the parts get here.

  3. How's this for a QC problem at Yamato.  I just got a VF-11B with Fast Packs from hlj and the leg armors were completely missing.  I can hardly believe yamato would actually let something this obvious make it out of the factory.  Man am I pissed

Hey reaper, try emailing HLJ politely about ur missing part. They may try to order those parts from Yamato for you. Last year I got a Super 1/60 Hikaru and the arm tabs were missing and HLJ replace it for me free of charge.

Hope they will help you out.

Thanks I did just what you said. I'm just worried that yamato isn't sending out replacement parts anymore. Seems like I heard something to that effect somewhere. How long did it take you to get your parts?

  4. Thanks for the replies. I believe its a 1/48 scale. The prop is rather small so if I did have to make a new one it shouldn't be too terribly hard to sculpt. But kitbashing does sound like a nice alternative if I can't sculpt it. Anyone know where I can find a cheap 1/48 P-47 model? I'll check out that site, neptunesurvey. Still I would like to know what I could use to make a new one. I've seen lots of people making custom parts for models before. What do you use?

-edit- oops wrong scale it is actually 1/48

  5. 2nd edition... the one with the blue vfx paint scheme that I love???

No the 2nd edition is in the macross plus color scheme and is almost the same as the version 1 except with a couple fixes (that damned tab-b doesn't break so easy). It also doesn't have diecast shoulders. The box actually has a little orange sticker on it that says 2nd edition. I'm not too sure about the ver 1.5. I believe they were ver 1 YF-19s that were fixed in the middle of production. They do not have the sticker on their box. The blue vfx VF-19 is considered the 3rd edition as it has many improvements over all the others. I love both my 2nd edition and my blue 19 (except I broke my canopy too), although I'm sure the new sucker's gonna blow both of them outta the water. Oh and I paid $120 for my 2nd edition last year.

  6. Just last week my order for the JM Backup was confirmed and I recieved it just yesterday. But in between I saw a really nice Joke Machine on ebay and went for it even though I knew I would be getting the backup right away. So the backup didn't affect me any. I still like the originals enough to buy them. I just wanted the backup to make a TV Max VF-1A or TV Hikaru VF-1J out of instead of customizing an original.

kanata: I was watching those 1/100s too. I'm still looking for the 1S and I even bid on it. I think I've seen the guy who won it instead on ebay before. If my memory serves me right, he always bids some crazy super high amount on 1/100s. I'm pretty sure I saw him win a couple of them for like $350 each. It always scares me when he shows up on an auction.
