Personally, I'd take well mastered stereo over a terribly mixed 5.1 any day.

Agreed.. But I swear I remember the japanese laserdiscs having a surround channel.

And I never simulated surround back in the day.

I pulled out my region 2 Mac + box the other day and noticed something odd.

Episodes 1234 are labled as PCM but I can't seem to get any surround channels out of them.

My AV system is fine as everything works with surround channels on every other disc.

My question is were these discs mastered in 2.0?

I've learned to expect the unexpect with region 2 mastering in the past.

Really doesn't matter much as I hope there will be a Blue Ray soon.

Well i broke down and watched the version that is going around the one with bad color, sound, and contrast. Thinking this version is 1.0 and a telecine.

Having the macross plus movie on dvd has sucked as you had to deal with the crappy tranfer manga did or the non-chapter encoded dvd that bandai visual released.

Did the region 2 UK dvd look any better?

I'm willing to host the first torrent seed on my dedicated server for 2 weeks.

I have roadrunner extreme as a provider, good upload speed!

The server in question is up 24/7 and will host the files on SCSI drives so there will be no issue with packet access.

Just pure data going out.

The only limit is upload speed, (No Fiber Yet) but after a few hours the seeds will spread to other users pcs and I think we can do this.

The PS2 has an option to output at 16:9 but it sucks and causes more problems.

I set it back to 4:3 and let the TV do the scaling. Everythings perfect now I can play!!!

I finally got the Macross PS2 game but I am having issues with some of the cut scenes displaying on the far right of my tv (It's 16:9 Plasma).

Changing aspect ratio doen't seam to help.

I am using the Matrix Infinity Mod Chip with latest firmware.

Anyone else have issues like this on a 16:9 screen?
