Wow, all these people canceling preorders. And you guys are surprised when online stores start making you pay upfront for preorders?
-
New neck is awesome, will definitely pick up that set. Looks wicked but the legs look about as mobile as the 1/48 GBP.
-
If it's any consolation... your panel lining looks pretty slick. Very subtle, not too pronounced. What's your technique?
-
That looks great. Although at this point I think I'll just save the cash and put it towards the 1/60 VF-1J.
-
Why on earth would anyone ever want them to remain exclusive? Is it just so you can feel rewarded for going through a third party source to get an item that is clearly highly sought after and should have been mass produced in the first place? Doesn't the fact that Bandai reopened preorders for the Super packs just prove that more people want them?
-
That would totally piss off all the fans who web-ordered the exclusives. Not gonna happen, at least not anytime soon. Maybe during/after the movie.
Maybe so, but I don't really care. I'm sure they pissed off a lot of fans by making them web exclusives in the first place.

Should have done a FP bundle instead of just straight up re-release.
-
I think even the clear coat would eventually come off. Graham's method should work though... But this is starting to foray into the 'we have to be gentle playing with it cause it's a like a yamato' territory.
Even if it did, I still think a flat coat would do these toys wonders. But it would require almost complete disassembly to get the flat coat completely even on all pieces. Sounds like a fun project actually...
-
Has anyone tried giving these things a flat clear coat? This would protect the paint and give it a nice Yamatoesque plastic finish.

Then it's time for you to expand your anime horizons and look to the other Bandai cash-cow of 2008/2009, Gundam 00
I see. That's what I get for having not revisted the series since stopping at episode 15. I have the first season on the computer, just haven't gotten around to watching it yet.
-
Lol I see what you did there
Err, I don't, lol.
But I saw those ones already, that's why I said anymore.
-
Anymore pics with Ozma's neck properly locked in place?
-
So what site do you guys go to for all the latest model kit news, images and magazine scans? I used to check Gunota but they shut down and I have no idea where else to go.
-
I don't recall seeing the VF-1J Hikky sporting a Super Fast Pack other than the GBP!??
That's probably because it didn't. Though it still does look pretty cool with the Fast Packs.
-
Sorry to insist, but again, there is only VF-0S arm fix and some CF VF-0A with the good shoulder and some with the bad one STILL no VF-0A "SHIN" stand-alone reissue whatsoever on the horizon?
Actually I believe it was the Shin 0A that had some good some bad whilst the CF was "stay the hell away".
-
So that they can make more money when someone has to buy another valkyrie for another head. All companies do this, not just Yamato.
Wings and fuselage also have different number markings for the S and A types.
-
Bleah. Blue Heat Shield on the Max. Now I have to get a black one for my Hikaru 1S AND the Max 1S.
I guess no one at Yamato actually watched DYRL where Max's 1S was never shown with a blue heat shield
That's retconning for ya. No different than retconning the size of the VF-11B. I'm sure Kawamori had a hand in it. And Hikaru's is a toss up, it was shown with a red heatshield just as much as a black one.
-
Just a double jointed Revoltech joint eh? I think I have an extra white one that came with Ultra Magnus.
-
Hmm on second look I noticed another inaccuracy in the model-- the '5 hole block' is supposed to be right next to the shoulder armour instead of having such a large gap in between. Sighh...
It can be, he just mistransformed or overlooked that area.
Picture not mine.
-
Alto has some wiiiide shoulders.
-
That's too bad, I'm really happy with my Shin 0A. Everything that was wrong with my 1st edition 0S is fixed with this 0A. The shoulders I'll still be careful with but I don't really remember many people (or anyone specifically at all) that had their Shin shoulders explode.
Plus I got the bundle for $105+shipping, how could I complain?
-
I've transformed my 0A several times since I've gotten it. Had I known the seat was going to be much tighter compared to my 1st edition 0S I probably wouldn't have pressed on it. It's not a big deal anyways.
Also this isn't a Bandai vs Yamato thread. And if it was then I would say that Bandai could have made the DX detailed AND durable they just chose not to (compared to the smaller model kit) for whatever reason. It doesn't have to be a war between detail and durability, there's no reason we can't have both.
-
Success! Thanks for the help guys. Back to admiring this gorgeous bird...
-
Criticism: you forgot to put that antenna thingy (or whatever it is) under the nose cone of your VF-0S.
Nice shots!

Hell yeah. I knew that if I waited this would happen. Time to finally get one of these bad boys.
