  1. ive had these (12 sets) for about a year now..ive been checking once a month to see if they are eating the paint off my valks and ive had no issue...however they do crack if you crank down on the screws..there is a fine line between cracking and it being tight..but over all these are awesome...

  2. Lockheed unveiled their F-22 replacement proposal:

    LMT%20Fighter%20560.jpg

Huh. Looks kinda like a certain F-22 competitor, only flattened. So we could apparently have had the F-22's successor, years ago, had we just gone with Northrop in the first place...

looks like a cross between the yf 23 black widow and the raptor then flat n

  3. 1/60 YF-21 (the first run that came in a giant box with the clear stand) It was the only toy I've ever pre-ordered. No surprise considering the YF-21/VF-22S is my favourite valkyrie design, the most innovative valk design, IMO.

thanx for reminding me...i finally put the fast packs on my yf-21 cuz ur post reminded me i have the first run of the 21..so she now sits w/ stand...thanx..quick question where can one get those clear stand w/ the 3 prongs....its the only thing i asked my wife for x mas as i buy enough crap through out the year to justify not ever recieving a x mas present for the rest of enternity..

  4. Such a nice color. Wasn't a big fan of the design in the animation, but the toy actually makes it look great.

The battroid mode has become one of my favorites with the proportions and awesome head sculpt.

It's too bad the transformation locking on the nosecone in conjunction with the glossiness makes putting a clear coat and weathering on the toy unfeasible or impractical.

man that view from the top is killer!!!!!!!!!!!! so glad i got this comin on the way..sucks i got to wait for it to ship tho..only a couple days now..

  5. true....he might of pushed the edge ALOT.. what a lot of yall dont know is that he was encouraged 80% of the time to perform these manuevers at retirements/ALS graduations/airshows ect....the vid of the crash was a rehersal for an airshow(the day before) and was given FULL cleareance to perform said manuevers...this was the early 90s and it wasnt uncommon for pilots to push the envelope...he just pushed it to many times and as a result lives were lost..this incident pretty much resulted in harsher punishments for performing these acts and is a training tool for not only pilots but us maintenace guys as well..L8s...

  6. yeah even watching watching BUFFs come in for landings can be an experience..wheels crab in line with the runway but nose off center..watching that thing do low levels is a sight to behold..speaking of which if yall havent seen it check out the vid mishap of b 52 at fairchild on youtube..unfortunally it ends with the major/his vice commander/ the nav and the WO losing their lives but it displays the awesome flt dynamics of the b 52.every day i look at that tower and say a prayer......l8s..

  7. Was looking out the pothole during a recent flight and noticed that when the water (it was raining) is deep enough under the wing, the engine is running and the plane stationary, a nice watersprout/tornado spiral of white water will form from ground level up till the tip of the engine nacelle.

Wonder if anyone ever saw this too?

everytime it rains bro i watch the f 108s on the 135 do the very same thing..LOL..

  8. awwwe good old F.R.E.D(F**king Ridiculous Economic Distaster)..i flew on one in 2002 and w/o a doubt the smoothest take off and landing ive ever had on a jet.it was so smooth that when we took off.. i tought we were still on the ground until we started banking..and other than the distinct sound of rubber hitting the tarmac i didnt even notice we were on the ground on landing....and i fly a lot...LOL...

  9. The Yamato 1/60 & 1/48 Valkyries - Never. They are too expensive for me to risk. Knowing my luck and liklihood of making a mistake during the transformation, no way I'm taking a chance.

Besides, I only really care about fighter mode anyways. I really wish someone would come out with a new line of fighter mode only toys in one of the established aircraft modelling scales (1/48, 1/72, 1/144).

this^^^^...i broke more than my fair share of expensive valks..if i do have more than one i will at least try to keep on in valk mode and one in batt

  10. i think i'm gonna pass for this bird..

first it's to damn expensive and second .. i just hate the design.. look bulky i rather like the vf 171 design.. but i do hope the trend for yamato releasing a valk with a price over 19000 yen will end.. and i'm still waiting for a miracle release of a vf 4 for the 30th anniversary .. coz you know 2012 is the year when misa and hikaru lift off to space with the vf 4 as the main fighter for the fleet

good point....damn i hope yamato or bandai are listening right now..i want a VF 4 damn it as well as the VF 14 and a 19a...

  11. i have all the outer sleeves, just used these in my Display Cabinet along with my Yamatos. So far this is the only un-numbered one i know of and there is no sign of number fading. I was going to contact Toynami or Robotech.com as the product come from them i believe originally, but it is odd. If you wouldn't mind checking yours would be nice to confirm but i understand not wanting to open them.

    Regards

    Matt

dude u might be holdin something there...mine is most def numbered...hold on to that or at least find out if its worth anything..

  12. Are you referring to the PAK FA?

naw still sticking w/ the SU 35/37....im a C/C on the KC 135 and went down to edwards many times when we(USAF) were in the testing phase of the 22 and got to see pretty much all the flt parameters that the 22 can do...even when it comes out to air shows it doesnt do anything close to what was shown in the vids ive seen of the 35/37/....even those are some badass pilots or the 22 is holding back.....but since ive been in 13 years nothing comes close to the 35/37 in the USAF inventory...and ive pretty much seen them all fly..even got to take look at the 2 remaining 71s that nasa has stored away at edwards..but i also grew up in the airforce so ive seen it numerous times b4...

  13. Su-35 (the new Su-35, not the original)

    1:50----hammerheaded cobra?

2:55---that's pretty much just yelling out a big "F you, physics!"

sweet vid...and this is why the SU 35/37 are my favorite planes/jets...theres even a better one floating around that would put the f-22 flt characteristics to shame..

  14. First production representative F-35A (finally) get's a paint job. I was originally going to complain about how slow things seem to be going for the F-35 program (this plane was rolled out at the end of 2008 and first flew last November), but then I realized that this is the second F-35 milestone bit I've posted about this week and it's only Wednesday, so maybe I'm being overly pessimistic.

the f-35 flew way earlier than last nov..ive seen it fly numerious times before then when i use to go TDY to edwards i would see them flying out towards palmdale all the time..i even got to see the sec or third test of the vtol system..be it from a couple miles a way.. think it was 07-08 time frame..

  15. I specifically said cockpit, not canopy, on purpose. The canopy is longer so as to create head-room for the back-seater without having a very weird curvature at the back. But the basic dimensions of the cockpit area are the same, bulkhead/frame-wise.

AFAIK much of the avionics in the rear cockpit area of an F-15 are in fact fairly optional (as in, it can still fly and fight without them)--that is why the F-15B and F-15D have inferior defensive systems than the A and C model---because that's what was removed--mostly ECM-related stuff. (there's not really that much there from what I've seen---raise the turtle decking and it's mostly an empty space---the black boxes are all along the walls, but the middle's empty). Removing this equipment was unacceptable for the F-15E due to its mission, so instead they put the ECM avionics in the gun's ammo bay area, and the F-15E has a much smaller ammo capacity than the C as a result. (and even that required bulging the ammo bay outwards just to have that much room---the bulged/moved ammo bay is an oft-missed physical feature of the E-model)

i got u. and i know about the moving of the eqipment boxes/racks thats not y i comented..the nose of the acft is bulkier...have u sat in a f 15E..theyre bigger bro.. f 15c are more confined..ive sat in both cock pits..and mind u my buddy works on 15e's.. :)

  16. For me it would be my custom Yamato SV-51 in Splinter Camo....though I am loving the new VF-25!

    Why thank you. ;)

    gallery_265_296_250636.jpg

i love all the paint schemes based off of the flankers....yamato needs to seriously consider this and other realistic paint schemes..one in yellow/brown would be boss..seriously.... im jealous..

  17. Just a little FYI, but I think people may be interested to know:

The "can be either a rear seat, or a spot filled with stuff" that the VF-25 toy has (as does the v2 YF-19) is actually quite similar to the real-life F-15 and F-18. While those planes cannot change what they have there, the 2-seat versions of them do not have a longer cockpit or forward fuselage--they basically just remove the avionics that go in there, and put the second seat in. The actual cockpit walls, bulkheads, etc are almost exactly the same. If you rip out the "avionics vent" panel of an F-18C and remove the rear seat of an F-18D---you've got very very similar looking "empty rear cockpit areas". Same concept, just "can only be decided/changed what goes there when built".

f 15c is smaller frame then the f 15e..canopy is also larger..the canopy had to be enlarged to alow for the proper ejection of its pilots..its not as simple as just removing the avionics bay..all those avionics are vital to the operation of flt sys..thus the enlarge cockpit area..

they(military) use to showed us failed ejection seat tests of the f15 c smaller canopy with duel seats in tech school when i first joined the military 13 years or so ago...
