  1. Picked up my first Sazabi today, it is now sitting in the office waiting for a good time for me to contraband it home.  Was chatting with the store owner on upcoming stuff; apparently the re-release of metal structure Nu Gundam will be a bundle package with the fin funnels, and along side it a significant price increase.  The re-release Nu will also have new markings different than the original.  The sad news is that the standalone fin funnel package re-release is nowhere on the horizon, all production runs of the fin funnels in the factories now are going into the bundle package.

thats when im going to call it until bandai fixes themselves.

There is a meme in Hong Kong digging at how Bandai's logo evolution accurately reflects their increasingly predatory practices, it goes something like "Bandai puts children above all else" -> "Bandai is in the heart of children" -> "Bandai doesn't keep children in their heart anymore"...

Please continue to share! Is this you in the video?

not my video, my orders (yes, s, 2) were all made with North American retailers so they won't be available until end of Jan to Feb.  I suspect for the first month after release the majority of the review videos will be from Japanese / Chinese content creators and the English language videos won't be available until later.  I was excited at first seeing the influx of videos so I started posting, but don't want to spam.  If more comes out with important information I will sure to share here, like the possible defect of the head led not lighting up.

  4. I got carried away with sharing online videos of the Sazabi unboxing, this will be my last post sharing videos.  As the product is getting released to the public more and more videos will come out and one can simply go on youtube or bilibili, search by Sazabi and sort by upload date.

This last video I'm going to share is informative, it has a lot of tips on how to flip the panels etc. so as not to scratch or break the toy.  But most importantly he pointed out a defect that the head light won't light up; so for anyone getting the Sazabi please make sure to test it out.

  5. I just finished listening to a podcast by Hong Kong toy industry insiders, the stocks have arrived and HKD 24000 (USD 3000) is now the norm price amongst all the HK retailers.  What was said is basically all the HK retailer now have the mentality of looking for that year end profit stream.  I'm conflicted, on one hand I hate price scalping but on the other hand, if anyone is going to do it might as well be the retailers making the margin as opposed to a middle man buying for cheap from the stores and then flipping online.  The reality is that even if a retailer does not want to price scalp, they will because otherwise someone will just buy from them and flip it, not benefiting the end users.

    Looks like they have another:

Out of curiosity I threw it in a cart to see what shipping was to the US. About $550. Total $3950USD with the exchange rate right now. But the real sketchy part is they don't seem like they accept credit cards (at least not directly) and it doesn't say what shipping service they're using. If I was to pay $4000 (I'm not) I had better be able to put it on my Chase Sapphire international card that has great exchange rates and killer protections. And it better ship DHL.

I've shopped from them many times and can say they're legit, although I find their price and shipping higher than average (I'm in Canada).  One thing I noticed today is they've jacked up the price even more to HKD 26500, it was HKD 24500 yesterday when I posted it.

  7. Hobby digi order is up for Metal Structure Sazabi.  price is high HKD $24500 ($3150 USD) not counting for shipping and import tax.  I'm passing, as I've since landed on 2 separate orders from different shops.  To those with the deep pocket, here you go:

    Edit: now sold out

I have no idea why they decided to do this stupid design with the front shoulder armor split and attached to the biceps of the SOC RX-93FF Nu Gundam,,,paint scratching waiting to happen. Makes me want to skip this, even if I could get it at reasonable price. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?! (timestamp 10:15)

They just announced they're going to halt selling it at the stores.  I wasn't going to buy one but after hearing the news and fear of the price going up I bought one.  Yahoo jp still has alot, at about 8000 yen premium.

Does anyone have experience with buying from nin-ningame? good or bad?

normal, not particularly quick when it comes to shipping instock items after you pay or shipping pre-order items that comes in stock.  They usually hold out for a week or 2 under "package processing".  But you'll get you items eventually and consistently.

PS. don't buy the metal structure sazabi from them if that is what you are looking for

I gave up days ago. I'm either not going to get one................................or pay $4000. I haven't decided what I'm going to do yet. Probably pay $4000. I hate to lose.

yeah 4000 is around my limit too.  Over at robotjapan people are posting link to Amazon scalpers selling for 6000, and somebody said they ordered because they can cancel before Oct 30.  Problem is, the day you order is the day you'll most likely back out, as you are furthest financially from it.  As time passes you start regaining money towards your budget from salary and the day getting close to Dec launch also makes you more excited and less likely to cancel the order.  The 6000 seller probably also didn't have it but preorder from some other Amazon seller for 4000 with a cancel date in Nov, so if you back out he backs out, and if you don't he makes a big margin just by doing a few mouse clicks.  This is sickening...

Edit: to be able to buy the Sazabi with a reasonable price is supposed to be exciting and makes you appreciate the workmanship of the product, if however, I get the Sazabi at launch day for the crazy markup of 6000 I would not be happy holding it in my hand and may even be ashamed to show it off...

  11. Just missed the posting on Kurama https://kuramatoys.com/metal-structure-kaitaishouki-msn-04-sazabi/

Which is a shame as this is one of the sites I've been monitoring and refreshing for an entire week last week.  Nonetheless I need to refocus on normal day to day stuff and this one felt through the gap while I was working.  It drives me crazy to think that I have sacrifice a lot of time putting off important tasks to monitor the websites last week and they never posted, and just for a moment when I turn back towards work they finally did post and I missed out...
