  1. Haha, I've had mine for three years now. As has been repeated many times in this thread: Yes, Votoms is sweet.

I also have MAP-02, and MAP-03 on the way thanks to samurai_m. What I want to know is what happened to this line? It seemed to be doing well, and I couldn't wait for more AT's and add-on packs. I would love a standing tortoise, a fatty and their variants. I'd even love more micromen show characters.

  2. Hey! It's been a while, but I just watched nearly every Votoms related show I could get my hands on. I gotta say, I really liked nearly all of it. Usually it's hard for me to go back and watch a cartoon series, but this was one of the few exceptions. I've only got one problem: I have no idea what's going on in Shining Heresy. I don't speak a word of japanese, and based on the events in the series, I really want to know exactly what happened. So if anyone could link me to a summary or give me a rundown, that'd be excellent.

Also, I'm still on the hunt for Map-03 Vanila with parts, so if you wanna sell or trade, then I wanna buy.

Here's hoping they do more updates like Pailsen Files in the new style, much better for mecha combat. :)

  3. Hi, I'm looking for MAP-03 Vanila Vartla with custom red shoulder parts from the 1/18 line of VOTOMs from Takara. I haven't found it available anywhere on the web, so if you could point me in the right direction or if you have a spare to sell or trade; that'd be spectacular.

    What I'm talking about:

    MAP-03

I have all four of the Microman Road Spartan series available for trade, or we can work something else out through paypal.

Just one, but they're all on that page, and I have all four.

I appreciate your help, and I hope this works.

  4. Hi, I've been looking for the Takara 1/18 Votoms MAP-03 with Vanila Vartla and red shoulder parts. I can't find it anywhere, so I figured this would be the best place to look. I have a few things I can trade you for this, and I don't care if it's missing a box or something(or even Vanila), just as long as the parts are there.

    I am willing to trade:

RID Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus(broken gun, but it works and looks fine)

Robotech Masterpiece Ben Dixon(slightly torn on the inside tray, stickers applied then taken off)

Robotech Masterpiece Appendix A(everything there, good condition, stickers applied)

Robotech Masterpiece Lancer(broken hand, unfixable but will hold gun; most stickers applied)

Beast Wars Depthcharge(no box, otherwise great condition)

Beast Wars Polar Claw(no box, complete, has play wear)

Entire Microman Road Spartan Team(has everything, one figure is in danger of breaking)

    Beast Wars Inferno(no box,great condition)

    Energon Landmine(comes with everything)

    Energon Shockblast(no box, complete)

    Alternators Mirage(no box, complete)

    Alternators Shockblast(has everything)

    Alternators Tracks(no box, complete)

    Cybertron Soundwave(bent box, complete)

Or just about any combination of the above items(that I think is fair, of course). I'd like to use a third party to trade, I know of one; but if you prefer a different one I don't mind. It's cuttin' me own throat, but I only want that set, and I really don't want the listed items; so I'll probably give you a good deal. Contact me at monzrs88@oneonta.edu, I check it most frequently.

  5. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, sorry if this has been mentioned before. Recently the rubber hose on my Microman Chirico helmet broke, I think it just dry-rotted, but I also think it has a lot to do with the way it's attached to his belt. I think I left it attached too long and the stress eventually broke it. If I were you, I'd put the helmet on, but don't attach the canister at the end of the hose to his harness. Did this happen to anyone else? Superglue didn't work, so I had to use a very short piece of guitar string and some glue to hold both ends together.

  6. The new microman Ality with motorcycle is out courtesy of bbts and I thought I'd review it.

    Microman Ality

Awesome figure, there's more articulation than the Chirico figure, a better color scheme, and awesome accessories. The figure comes with a cloak, rifle, and a vac-metal stand shaped like a dog-tag. The cloak needs to be fiddled with, but the effect is cool. He also comes with an extra head that is wearing some kind of binocular-goggles combo. The few weak points are the shoulder pad for the cloak, which needs to be stuck on with double-sided tape (provided). The face likeness is not really precise and the figure looks really boyish, but maybe that's how the character is.

    Motorcycle

The bike is what really convinced me to buy this toy, it has a great color scheme and some serious detail. All of the storage containers are removable and able to open. There are a few peices like the mirrors and kickstand which have to be put on, but that's not a big deal to me. The figure has a hard time holding the handlebars and doesn't always sit right but it looks good enough. The bike can seperate from the sidecar and look cool all on it's own.

All in all I'd say it's an excellent toy, and I'd recommend it to anyone who already has the DMZ-01, they look great next to each other. And for less than half the price of the DMZ-01 I think it's a pretty good deal.

  7. I've been on a punk kick lately, includes: Ramones, Clash, Balzac, Black flag, Dead Kennedys, Misfits (can't get enough), D.O.A., X, Damned.

Haven't really met anyone with similar tastes, But I'm in a small town.

Oddly enough, I don't like the sex pistols at all.

  8. Long ago when this version of the TF thread started, I said I'd write a review on the tenth anniversary Primal and Megs. Without much further ado:

    Optimus Primal

This toy could have been awesome if it only included half the accesories that the original primal did. As it is the colors are slightly off, the alt mode suffers and the robot mode is missing key points of articulation.(Wrists) The board is useless unless you take off the front end and use it as a sword. Key gimmick is useless, and even moreso on a stupid accessory.

Some redeeming features are the excellent proportions in robot mode, and the fact that this is one of the coolest and most dynamic primes ever.

Really, you're only gonna buy this if you love Optimus Primal, which I do. I like him more and more everyday, especially bot mode.

    Megatron

Almost the opposite of primal IMO, The robot mode fails to impress by having a thin head and that weird turquoise color on his chest and face. The key gimmick is strange, but I don't see where else they could have put it.

This toy shines in alt mode, the rex has lots of articulation and is able to take on some awesome poses. The only good thing about robot mode is that you can remove that tail gun thing.

I only bought Megatron so I would have both but the alt mode has grown on me.

All in all, some good toys, just not what I would have done. I think they should have been made bigger and with cooler features and accessories.

Also I'm slightly biased because I think Beast Wars is the best transformer series ever.

  9. my thread

    Plenty of information.

I don't have the yamato to compare the two, But I love the 1/18. The paintjob looks good, the figure is alright. the accesories are good.

Basically, the only thing that really sold me on the takara scopedog was that it had a cool paintjob and it came with a figure already. And it was cheaper.
