That's the reason why I decided to get this VF1A when there were all 3 that I can choose from. The VF1S and VF1J are all white where as the VF1A has less white parts. And even when it does turn yellow, it will at lease go well with the brown parts.

I think the only problem for HCM is the vertical wings at the back. It looks fine in fighter mode, but in robot mode they stick out too much from the back pack. Other than this, I think the design and all the details are still considered to be very good .

Here are the accessories that came with my set:
There are 12 missles all together. 4 missle racks which hold 3 missles each. One antena for gerwalk mode,2 pilot figures, one 1/32 Misa figure ,and some round caps for covering up the screws,2 halfs of gun, 1 cockpit shield, instruction sheet.

I guess they have to used the same plastic for as many parts as they can(feet and gun) to save cost. And the brown VF1A always have molded in brown feet ,rather than the usuall dark greyish navy on J and S. That's why I always thought a CF is "specially made" .......

For those of you like this paint style, I belived you must liked Kow Yokoyama's SF3D. I found myself was heavily influenced by Kow's raw yet realistic approach shown on his SF3D modeling. It was and still is one of my all time favourite series from the 80's.

It comes with all the missles and missles rack. One 1/32 Misa Figure , and 2x pilot figure for cockpit. But don't know why 2 pilots ??? spare???

Here is its site:
Last time I saw there is a 90% new Hi-Metal VF1S Strike set selling for 1600hkd. That place always has new(old) stuff come in and the place is huge .I usually go there every week just to see what surprises are in store.

Finally got one at a good price,I think.
I would say it's about 90% new. It come with every thing except the data card and the sticker sheets. But for about 100usd, I am not complaining anything.
By the way , does anyone know if replacement sticker sheets for this is avaliable?
The bigger one is the 1/55 Bandai reissue I got cheap a few months ago,for size reference.

...... As a model guy my biggest complaint is the screws. They just throw off the scale, and remind you it's a toy.........
I have this fixed tonight. Again with very simple and fast tool:..........>
A piece of thin clear plastic from packing of batteries or any other products. Using a HOLE-PUNCHER to punch out perfect little circles. Glue these little round pieces of thin plastic on top of the screw heads. Paint over them and you have instant (well, almost) screw covers!

lordmasterprince or anyone,
I'm from the otherside of the world, so a lot of model tool terms are not familiar to a bloke like me from down under, what's a Q-tip? Picture anyone, sound like a great tools.
Bty, no dildo pics please, I was actually tempted to post one as soon as I read what I wrote, please reframe
I am quite sure that "Q-tip" is no special model tool term! But rather a personal care product term

Thank you all for all the flattering comments. This was ment to be a quick-over the-weekend kind of self entertainment. The "tools" that I used for this project:
1) Tamiya XF-1 flat black enamel paint
2) Tamiya X-20 enamel paint thinner
3) "burnt metal" and "rust" Gundam marker
4) Tamiya X-20A thinner
5) toothpicks
6) Q-tips
You read it right, Q-tips!!! I didn't even use a paint brush for this project. The process is easy and fun. First I apply the flat black wash with Q-tips . After the wash is fully dried, I use another Q-tip wetted with the thinner to blend the effect better. After the surface is all dried , I use toothpick to apply the "burnt metal" dots at all those knock and scratch area. Then I used another Q-tip for applying the "rust" here and there. That 's all to it. It's cheap, quick and fun method that everyone can enjoy.

Nice job. I too think you should darken the Barrels a bit. But at least it now looks like a Destroid and not a hunk of plastic, pretending to be a Destroid.
The museum fresh look is naff. Its always nice too see them custom painted to look like they were used at least once in battle, you know a bit of ingrained dirt some scuffs and knocks and a bit of discolouration. I know that doing this to something that is essentially sold as a toy (an expensive toy) is going towards the modelers area but so what. How many Macross toy collectors over the age of 10 actually play with the toys. Most of the collectors here if they have kids have the kids eaither stay away or give them their own Macross toys to put in the sandpit or play in the bath or whatever they do with toys.
I Say Buy em, Paint em, Pose em, Display em.
Good work !! I look forward to your next work.
Thank for the comments and I also agreed that the barrels should be darken more, something that I missed out myself .Reworks on the problem areas are being done at the moment and will post revised pictures very soon.

If it is based on the Halcyon kit, it is heavily modified. It is certainly possible given some people's skill, but my money would be on scratch built.
On a different note, a question for fellow dropship fans.
I know I have this in one of my references somewhere, but can't find it for the life of me. What does the P.S.M. stand for in ship 02's logo? The logo says "SMART ASS: we aim by P.S.M." I remember that the P is pure, and the M is magic...but I can't seem to remember the whole thing.
Also, what logo did the special black 03 get? One of the ones from the technical manual?
I cannot be 100% sure. But looks like it's : Pure Supernatural Magic

As far as I can remember, the following series were in the HCM:
Gundam,L-gaim,Xabungle,Vifam,Brave Raideen and Macross.
Dougram was never in the HCM line. The Dougram series that you refered to should be the Dual Model produced by Takara.
