Yeah it's a very reasonable commission and the customer service is top notch.

If only they didn't charge that pesky conversion fee!  But I can't complain too much as it will work out to around $585 usd shipped which is slightly more than HLJ before shipping.

How well/secure do they package items?  Do they use EMS?

    1. We are still waiting for Arcadia to post the pre-order information.
    2. Arcadia does not ship outside Japan.

You will need to use a proxy service to order direct, or you will need to order from an on-line shop that carries this version of the SDF-1.

Historically, what all online shops have carried the Premium Finishes for Arcadia's Macross releases?  I'm hoping AmiAmi will, even though I'm unable to find on their website any Macross PFs they've ever sold before.  AmiAmi has always packed my items really well, and everything has always arrived in pristine condition for me.  (I live on the east coast, USA and always use EMS for shipping.)  I've received items from Nippon-Yasan that have arrived in both excellent and also dented/crushed conditions.... The same goes for HLJ as well.

  3. It doesn't say Toynami on there... It might be the KitzConcept company... Toynami might just be the distributor.

Praying it's not Toynami making this. So, at 1/2000, we're talking about 60.5 cm / 23.8 in.... wow. I'm guessing it will be fairly detailed, and it's going to be about 99% thin plastic and mostly hollow inside allowing for low weight for shipping and easy standing in upright/attack mode. The outside box will be huge like Takara's Metroplex or Hasbro's SDCC Super Helicarrier from a few years back. I'll be surprised if this goes for less than $399 US.

  4. Ouch! I see they are sold out now too. I'm just gonna wait for the glow in the dark one. Then break myself if/when Arcadia or someone else does a big one again.

Wow, thank goodness I didn't hesitate any longer on these... I had been perpetually adding these to my cart for almost two weeks, unable to pull the trigger and just buy them... but after re-reading some of the posts in this thread, I realized I really wanted this version. I'll be retiring my WHAM SDF-1 from my desk for a while and see how this model displays.

  5. Did Arcadia acquire the rights/mold to produce the SDF-1? I'd really love to hold out for that, but I'm thinking it will be something like the next major anniversary (40th in 2022?) for Macross before we see something highly detailed and amazing... The Cosmo Fleet SDF-1 looks okay, but it's not like what I saw of the 1/3000 version from years ago, which I missed out on. I'm skeptical if we'll see much fanfare in terms of products in 2017 for the Macross 35th anniversary.

I just gave in and bought 2 of the Cosmo Fleet SDF-1s from NY. Yesterday, they were listed at 7,800¥ each, but today they're 11,000¥. Should have bought them yesterday... :( Regardless, definitely excited to be getting these. Paid for EMS shipping, and hopefully NY will ship out quickly--first time buying from them.

  6. How I wish it was the DYRL version. So I don't need to wait or wish for Arcadia to reissue theirs. ;)

  7. It was meant to be a joke. The top leg armor parts is supposed to be the "calf" or rear of the leg armor. Someone mentioned the other super part tip for the booster was missing not realizing that the part was next to the leg armor parts and not a 3rd leg armor. If you ordered one you should be good.

Welcome to the forums. If you need to more info/reviews on valks you can check out anymoon.com. There are many more sites out there but I think that site has a lot of comparison pics to help you. You can also look through the newbie thread that's on the top of this forum.

Thank you, wmkjr! LOL, I get it now...

    This Valkyrie looks absolutely beautiful!

  8. I gather there will be a no frills release later on at some point. A single release box set has already been announced containing all 9 volumes, and a few members are waiting for that to hit in December.

If a disc only release is made available, I wouldn't be surprised to see it sometime next year, giving access to the show to those who are extra patient or on a very strict budget.

The individual releases all look so good (especially the limited edition box that holds the first 3 volumes)... but I'm considering holding out for the box set. Where was the box set officially announced? I wonder if the box set would have all the extra non disc content (artwork, booklets, etc) that the individual sets have.
