I know they are taking pictures of the Monster at an angle so you don't see the photographer's reflection. I would like a more straight on picture so we can more accurately judge the Monster's size compared to the other mecha.
Not sure if the pic in the very first post of this thread is representative of the final product, but that pic seems to have the most straight on angle. You can get a better sense of scale with that pic.

cancelled my pre-order with HLJ. Just isn't floating my boat if you know what I mean.. kinda looks a little crappy to be honest. I'll wait for Arcadia to re-issue or renew their 1:3000 toy instead. But if that never comes then wot'evs..
But if it was ever re-issued, that would be a DYRL version not TV. I have incredibly fond memories of the TV version as a kid growing up in the 80's. Although I slightly prefer the design of the DYRL version, my emotional attachment for the TV SDF-1 is much greater.

so theoretically then the HWR Monster should be nearly as tall as a v2 VF-1 in battroid.. Or at least im hoping so.
VF-1 @ 1/60 scale would be about 21.13 cm (8.3"), monster @ 1/100 scale would be approx. 22.65 cm (8.9"). So yeah, should be similar.

well, considering a DX Chogokin X Robot Spirits Koenig Monster that transforms and has tons of diecast is around 23,000 yen.
I don't see how a non-transforming Hi-metal version of the Monster could justified costing more. I would say around 17,000
I'm really hoping that it'll be around 17,000 for the monster, but they're charging 13,000 for the glaug and the monster is considerably larger.

Anyone wanna take a stab at what the monster will cost? I'm thinking ¥25,000 to ¥30,000… Hopefully.

The Wave SDF-1 is only a little larger at 24cm (1/5000) but it was around $120USD IIRC. The Megahouse version is looking to be around $50. And, it's the TV version. Not bad IMO.
Assuming the TV and DYRL versions are exactly the same size at the same scale then at 20cm this is looking to be a 1/6000 scale ship. Anybody want to check me and confirm?
According to the Macross Mecha Manual site, SDF and DYRL versions are the same size, so you are correct in that it would be a 1/6000 scale. In terms of pricing though, I would gladly pay $120 if it transformed the way the Wave does. Judging by the pics of the bridge/torso, the Megahouse looks like it completely disassembles from one form to the next. You can see where the arms (square slots) and legs (circular slots) peg into. Still pre-ordered it though.

IT'S HAPPENING!
OMG… any word on a release/pre-order date?!!!

Hong Kong store opens order at around USD 160.... should I go?
The company's track record is so bad...
That's pretty much the same price as amiami, N-Y and A-E. Unless they're offering some sort of kick-ass free delivery I can't see why you'd order from them if their track record is so bad.

landing gears look like they're made from a single piece of plastic.
Question, can anyone tell if the fingers are individually articulated?
looks like the fingers aren't individually articulated. The index finger might be though.

WE've actually gone over this before. It was the only place I could find that still had the Sh Figuarts Hulk and Captain America available for pre-order. We'll find out the end of this month if it's a scam site or not.
Here's to hoping that you get your loot. More than losing the cash, I'd be upset about losing the PO's. On a positive though, bigcommerce seems legit.

Is that site legit?
Did any of you ever pre-ordered and received your item from them?
The site is pretty new even though they say since 2013.
but if you click on their connect with us logos, like facebook , twitters, etc. and it connect you to "BigCommerce" instead.
They also only seem to have 3 pages of instock item ,everything else is pre-order.
Just wondering for future reference.
Funny. Since your post, It seems that they removed any reference to "since 2013" as well as all facebook, twitter, g+ links to BigCommerce.

Just did a quick search for bandaionline.com and found several results also asking if the site was legit. Seems no one has answered that question.
Here are a few points of interest from scamadviser.com though:

I'm not trying to scare you... but really... IT IS.
Good luck preodering one on the less than 5 second window that they offer.
Oh... and be careful too on those so-called 'cartjackers'. Now I'm pretty sure you know how ugly it can get during PO nights.
What a harrowing experience. Since I've just started collecting I've been lucky in that all my PO's were for mechs that collectors already have or do not want, so they were easily obtained. But this was ridiculous. Staying up till 3am (PST) hitting refresh, hoping to get to the next page of the order form, then watching in horror as something screws up and you're back at square one but now it's all sold out. All that in a span of a couple minutes. I don't know how you guys do it for so many new releases...

There seems to be yellow tape holding the thing together. :S

Oh yeah. Forgot that one. Is this the URL that got hacked?
I've noticed that there's robotechstore.myshopify.com and www.therobotechstore.com. Is there a difference in the two? Also wondering if this store is legit.

Seriously, when you browse toy/hobby forums, including this one as well, people do post some scans or announcement from the toy makers itself. And we get idea on when is the PO date. And sometimes, if you browse the online shops, they will post a dummy page or a placeholder and states when the preordering will start. But all in all if you just follow this thread, you'll get to know soon when's the PO date. Click on the 'Follow this topic' button on the top right of this page and make sure that the notification is clicked too so that if ever someone posted a preorder date, you'll receive it directly on your email, then you can watch out for those online shops and prep your finger on pressing F5 on your keyboard during the PO night. Good luck!
Thanks for the info, it's very much appreciated. I guess there is no easy answer to my question (but was hoping for one). I thought that the preorder horror stories that I've read about were grossly exaggerated, but now I'm starting to believe are true.

also what is the preorder date on this. don't want to miss out again and have to sweat it out at release like i will have to forf the GBP
Seriously, I never know when PO dates are for any Macross toys. How does everyone else find out when they are (and the time as well)?

I'm very torn about this toy. I understand that the average price of a valk has gone up, and I don't mind paying those prices for toys from companies and brands that I'm familiar with. There's a certain level of quality that I expect from them based on previous toys purchased. Since I've never owned anything from evolution toy nor have had any experience with their offerings, I have nothing to gauge the build quality on. It could be solidly built and a pleasure to transform or a floppy mess from the get go and thus the price and quality is, currently, a non-issue for me. What's really got me torn is the design. I understand making design compromises and tweaks to accommodate one form over another, but this thing looks terrible in all 3 forms. Like the designers just don't see what the rest of us do. The sleek flowing lines in fighter mode are non-existent and It looks anemic in battroid mode (actually, for some reason when I look at the prototype battroid pic , I see a valk in drag).

The piece is not broken, you have to take the middle tab out and insert the fin firmly to the tab and then set it in the leg. Make sure you set the fin with the tab in the right direction.
Awesome pictures Saburo, why no clown hands?
It's not an issue of me putting the fin back into the middle tab. I've put it back in repeatedly. It won't stay in because there isn't a bottom pin to hold it in place.
-
My chest armor lightly snaps on as well. As for the 'canisters', none of mine seem to be removable.
-
thats exactly how mine looked. it somehow just fits right back in.
Argg… mine falls out constantly, unless it's perfectly upright.
-
It would be great if both of you can take a pic of the fin issues
Not the best quality pic (from my phone). Basically the top pin on the hinge is there (left side of pic), but the bottom (right side of pic) looks like it's shaved flat. there's nothing to hold the bottom part in place. And again, it looks like glue was applied to that part as its pretty shiny

no worries....
...but that is exactly the sentiment these online shops are hoping for from their overseas customers.....i would still advise you contact them....if anything, their response will help you decide where to shop next time....
Once again, thanks for the info. I did just email them about the issue. I'm not expecting them to jump through hurdles to help me out, but you're absolutely right when you say their response will directly affect where my dollars go.

I was charged an additional ¥1000. Mine 'should' come with the stand as I pre-ordered on the first day. I only ordered the one, and had it shipped EMS to Toronto, Canada.
