  1. Looks like the MPC Beta is being made after all. All that prior info about the Beta seems like BS from tommy.

Thank you for your interest in our Robotic products. Currently, the BetaFighter is still in production and a release date cannot be established. We are trying for a late 2006 release, but it seems it may roll over toearly to mid 2007. Thank you for your continued support.

  2. Even with the supposely shrinking market, hardly any of the Betas would be sold if it cost $200+. I don't think anyone would buy a nontransformable one regardless of how much less it would cost because it just wouldn't be a Beta without it.

I for one wouldn't fork over that much money for a Beta even if its the first and last of its kind(besides the gakken one). $200 can buy a lot of other things that would be more worth-wild. Just think what you could get with $200, I could use it towards the upcoming PS3 or buy 200 double stacks at Wendys!

  3. The next batch of alphas will probably come out when and if the beta is released.

Here's some intel on the Beta if it hasn't been posted yet.

    Subject: Some background on costs

MSRP is a combination of manufacturing costs and market forces. You'd normally expect the costs to scale proportionally, but it's not as simple as a straight double. When the market naturally shrinks at higher price points, the price per unit continues to rise because a smaller of units now has to cover the factory set up costs. This also happened to the B-2 when its production run was slashed.

Toynami put a lot of effort into the prototype. George Sohn is meeting with his manufacturing contacts in China to see what can be done to make such a limited run of Betas possible.

  4. Since were thinking big here like planes, does anybody here own or know someone who owns a firetruck? After I get my degree and if I find a job I plan to roll in a firetruck! But I don't know if the companies who make them would sell to an individual, I know you could buy a used one off ebay tho.

I know it sounds kind of childish, but just think of things you could do with it. If someone tried to cut you off on the road you could honk at them with a deafening horn instead of the those weak horns on cars that go beep beep.

If the horn is not good enough for yah then you could blast them with the siren or pick up your radio and switch it to speaker to verbally release your anger outloud. :D When your in a car your only limited to flipping the bird or rolling down the window and yell your angry message.

  5. I wish the missile pods had a spring mechanism inside them that when you press a button all the missiles shoot out at once. Just joking!
