  1. Just got back from my vacation to the Philippines on April 15th & was lucky enough to come across 4 different valks which happen to be on the top of my never ending "WANTED" list. I have transformed all of them several times & have had no problems whatsoever with the exception of my favorite one, The 1/60 VF-1D v2. I was still on the islands when the damage occured. The shoulder hinge cracked & broke off when I attempted to transform the toy for the first time ;) After realizing that I reversed the transformation process & just put it back in the box. I figured I'd deal with it later when I got back to the states.

Is it just me or is the v2 VF-1D made with cheaper plastic? It seems a bit more delicate compared to the other two I bought.

A good friend of mine recommended me to try using Loctite super glue for all plastics. He said it was strong enough to repair his turn signal on his motorcycle. I had my doubts but I was ready to try something & this seemed like the way to go. Unfortunately the repair didn't hold up

  3. I found a bunch of my old garbage pail kids, and while going through them I found this! I can't believe I forgot about it! Just scroll down to Hothead Harvey and Roy bot. Here's a link:

Tell me that isn't a great Macross homage!

What's up Excillon! :) Great Link. This one takes it wayyyy back. I still got the roy bot version but not the hhh. However it's nothing close to mint condition. It's still great to have it though. Still displays really well. I remember always trying to find a supersized version of either variations of that card when they started making the XL versions of the garbage pail kids cards. I never did find one though. If it did come out before I'd still get one if I could ever find one. Anybody know if it was ever made?

  4. You should go ask over at ToyboxDX, those guys have crazy knowledge about obscure toys.

Thanx for the advice! I really appreciate it. When I get a chance I'll go check with them and see what they have to say. BTW Your screen name being "Gobotfool" I was wondering if you have any extra gobot parts? If you do I'm Looking for a GB P2 powersuit if you've got one.

  5. I think it's fanart, personally.  Note that it says Super Dimensinal fortress MACROSS.

Those typos would never have made it to a real teaser poster - not is this era, anyway.  It's pretty though, but I would have made it say 2009.

Nice catch! I need to sharpen my proofreading skills. :D

  6. You know robopimp, I really do have a hard time telling if that flyer ad is real or photoshoped but I think that this DYRL Movie maybe a remake of the 1984 original or it maybe rereleased on big screen digitally remastered for everybody who didn't see it in the first place. That's what they did with Gundam F91 where they showed it in U.S theatres for the first time in N.Y.

    390268[/snapback]

Mannn. I'd really like to see a well translated English version of DYRL. Something I've always wanted to see.

Although I do like a bunch of the Gundam mecha and have bought a few related merchandise. I must admit I'm totally clueless & unfamiliar with gundam in general. Since they did release a Gundam F91 in the US I hope they do the same with DYRL

    [Crosses fingers] :)

Thanx for that quick reply du!

  7. I can't remember where I find these images I save to my hard drive. I found this image after going through some of my saved pics. Does anyone know if this is an official promotional advertisement or is this just a fanmade image made using photoshop?

If it is official I wonder if it's going to be a re release of the original or something new?

  8. :) Greetings,

I came across this pic I saved on a backed up CDR with other data. I don't remember what site I found this pic. I wonder who manufactured this cool SD? Or was it a custom from scratch? Thanks in advance

  9. I totally agree with ya' >EXO< they're not all that. I never thought they were. To be honest I just grabbed the lot just for a Capt. G

The CMS figs are my fav... Probably beacause I don't have any of em' :D

  10. WOW! That was quick du! You got that to me wit' the SUPER-HURRY-UP-NESS!!! Thanks for the informative link and your time Totoro242!!!

    I really appreciate the help!!

    Ernesto :)

  11. I thought I'd share some pics of these figures I came across while sorting through my collection. I bought these on ebay a few years ago for $12.00. All of the bottoms are marked 1985 H.G. USA Tatsunoko Horizon Made in USA. I was just wondering if maybe somebody here on the MW boards knew anything about these. I thought maybe these were intended to be used for an RPG game maybe? Does anybody know if they made some of the other charachters? Any feedback would be highly appreciated. Thanks everybody

  12. Those shots came out proper! Your attention to detail really shine on all of your pics. Nicely Done. What kind of camera did you use if you don't mind me asking? :D

  13. :D I prefer that gunpod & grey/silver set of fastpacks compared to the previous blue ones I'm so used to seeing everywhere. I gotta admit I don't like the way it comes painted and sealed with the unecessary stickers which are poorly applied and is just crap anyways. Butt ugly jumbo sized packaging that just takes up way too much space than it should if one chooses to keep theirs sealed. :p So many cons over pros here and the funny thing is if I seen those somewhere for $5-10 ea. ;) I'd probably grab a few to take home even though I thought it was a janky ko/ rendition of the VF-1S.:unsure::blink: That's just sick ain't it?!:lol::D That's how I know I'm a Macross fool!!!!!!!!!!:pB)) Ain't that a b!t<#!!! LOL :D
  14. I also have the H series with external mix and the guy at the store is right, its cheaper and easier to clean. My problem is that little screw on the bottom of the "ball -joint" nozzle part, it doesn't tight any more so it's somewhat lose.

    Hey 007-vf1,

One the great things I like about the Paasche airbrushes, is that you can get just about any spare part for them from paasche airbrush. I got my grandfather's old H type working again with a few spare parts, so I'm sure you can get the replacement part you need.

    Odyn

Hey Odyn!!!! :D Thanx for putting that link to about the Paasche airbrushes. I've been looking on ebay with no luck finding all of the missing parts for my airbrush. I disassembled it for cleaning a while back and found myself hardly ever having time for my hobby. By the time I did get a chance I've already moved and lost some of the vital parts needed for the airbrush to work. My dumbass didn't even think about going through their website to order the parts directly.:lol: Being the kind, honest & generous person you are by sharing information amongst others. If it weren't for your post I'd be out buying another airbrush and wasting my money. Thanx dude, 4 REALS :)

  15. :o Even with the thousands of lego pieces I had in my posession as a youngin' this would be impossible to make. :o I bet that custom wouldn't have been possible without owning a bunch of much more of the rare unique lego pieces which were produced and manufactured in lower quantities. I wouldn't be surprised if iyou had to buy 6 millenium falcons, 10 X--Wings, 4 snowspeeders, and 2 Darth Vader Technic sets just to obtain those key pieces to make this Lego Konig Monster a reality. Then again I could be totally wrong. Not only would aquiring all the specific pieces cost A$$load$ of hard earned ca$h. Whoever put that together must really know his lego pieces. Now this is a true work of art and worthy of the name Masterpiece! HG/toynami claims that they're sorry excuse for a toy line to be just that? Trippin'! Ki$$ my A$$ HG/toynami!!! Go back to the drawing board and spend more time there actually designing and not just making obvious cheap imitations of something that's already been done!! Honestly though, I waited a little over a year just to go from super happy & relieved that the wait was over & I finally recieved the damn thing. Still giddy I was everything but disappointed, that is until just after handling the thing for less than 10 min. or less & simply switching the valk or should I say "veritech" from fighter mode back into battloid mode to put it back in it's box that's when I noticed I had already broke my highly anticipated overdue $79.99+tax+s&H Ma$terpiece of $hit! I can't believe the so called designer/engineer & everyone involved with testing durability and inspect for any flaws with the prototypes especially involving functionality. Even after QA inspected the first batch of fully assembled MPC'S which were ready to be placed in it's packaging nobody seen anything wrong!? They were all givin' the thumbs up & green light to keep em' comin' down the assembly line. WTF!:lol: QA=Quality Assurance. What I've recieved doesn't have any qualities! ;) If all they're gonna do is dissapoint everyone then they just need to stop everything for reals. I wouldn't be surprised if those mandatory positions in they're staff even existed. It's funny what people will do for Money. <_< What a joke! NOW THAT"$ $OME BULL A$$ $HIT!:angry::angry::angry: My bad for jumping on another topic that's where my thoughts brought me. I'm just being honest bout' it mann + I had to get that outta' my system! The way I see it out of the 15,000 people who bought that first MPC I bet more than half if not all of them are disappointed and unsatisfied. HG/toynami's a fraud! They'd better come out with quality cyclones, beta's, etc. cuzZ They owe everything to the people involved in this scandal. Give the consumer what they paid for & especially the fan's what they want! B))
  16. all that plastic gives out tons of toxic fumes.  for safety of your health you must send all your stuff to us  ;)  for compliance check for hazards  ;)

Actually it is true, the plastics will give off fumes but hardly enough to hurt you. Funny suggestion though. :D

As for preservation and how to reduce damage, definitely AVOID UV light, it will royally mess up any collectibles you have. Also it might be best for you to store stuff away from the windows, heaters, and the anything that promotes moisture. Oh and try to keep them away from the kitchen e.g. the oils and likewise away in a room that is not directly connected to steam, e.g. from the bathroom. A cool, dry, smoke free room that you can adjust the climate for is best.

For some of your older carded figs, you might want to get those clear display cases if you don't want to sell them. You know like the SW reissues you see. Those are not foolproof by any means, but they will reduce initial damage. And since it is printed, there will be acids that seep out over long periods of time. This is why with comics another printed material, you need to change the acid free boards every now and then. Even with the slabbed comics that Wizard sells, those too much be changed after I believe five years, due to acids and the fumes trapped within the protective plastic shell. There is no such thing as a foolproof, just got to protect it once process/thing.

Hope that helps and welcome aboard MW! :)

:)Thanx for the great advice Fortress_Maximus! This will surely help me as well as others who need advice on how to properly store, protect & preserve they're collectables & investments. :)
