  1. Hi, it has been a while since I have been on the forums, but I am working on a small Macross project using MMD, DAZ and what programs I have available to me. But to help move my project along a little faster I am looking for a model of the Megaroad for use in my project. If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  2. I replied to her post on her FB. Yeah at first when I saw her perform a few years ago at Genghis I was like: "Sweet" and somewhat became a Macross Fanboy but after that first time I started listening to more of her post Macross works and I didn't realize how much I was missing. It does suck that she is always bombarded with Macross stuff even when she is feeling good about what she is doing now. As much as I love hearing Lynn Minmay whenever I watch Macross or DYRL, I am more thrilled by hearing Mari Iijima sing her other songs more than anything else because she is the person not the other way around.

  3. I would have to say the early 80's. I remember watching Robotech and wasn't too big into it. Then 11 years later, when I went to High School, one of my friends introduced me to Macross Plus and that was interesting but I wanted to see more. Eventually another friend let me borrow Clash of the Bionoids and then I bought Robotech on VHS and that was when yet another friend told me the difference between the two series.

I started looking into more about the series and when I first worked in LA I went to Little Tokyo and bought as much Macross merchandise that I could, mainly the soundtracks (The SDF:M OST is what made me fall in love more with the series I thought the music was fantastic, even for an anime). In 98 I met Shoji Kawamori and shortly after got to see DYRL for the first time and a couple of years later watched the original series. I used to RP with some friends online and play out a Macross Story set in 2019.

Even after the RP stopped I still wrote fanfics, listened to music from the various series. Bought the AnimEigo and the ADV sets of the series, the latter is autographed by Mari Iijima. Who I got to meet in '08 and see her perform whenever she plays in L.A. I am now reading the Macross the First Manga and been downloading Macross models for Miku Miku and Vocaloid and working on some models myself in the hopes to some day bring to life my own short Macross story.

  4. Ok. I know I am going against the norm here, but I found the dub MORE tolerable than the Robotech dub. It was not the best nor was it as strange as the Clash of the Bionoids dub. However, the main reason I liked it was to hear Mari reprise the role of Lynn Minmay in English; I had always thought that would be how she sounded even in English. The casting was hit and miss to me. I also liked Luci Christian and Chris Patton as Max and Millia since I heard them before as Sosuke Sagara and Kaname Chidori. and Monica Rial sounded like she was trying to be more like Lisa Hayes rather than giving Misa her own take. Vic as Hikaru, was not the best choice in my opinion; Roy it sounded like Brett Weaver was trying to be Akira Kamiya playing Roy Focker in a different language. I think a lot of people are harsh towards this dub is because they came into it with certain expectations, I enjoyed it for what it was: a chance to see Macross in English without having to hear Rick Hunter's excessive thought dialogue or Lynn Minmei's singing.

  5. I liked the dub with the exception of some of the character voices and the Zentran not having their echo. Misa was ok, Roy, Claudia, Millia and Minmay of course were my favorites (especially with Mari voicing her again) Hikaru thought could have been better. Not to impugn Vic's work, but I saw Kurz Weber more than I did Hikaru Ichijo. The sounds effects were meh but to me it was Macross, I still love watching both the dub and the original Japanese equally even though you cannot top Exedol's dance in Japanese :p

  6. I think its from here: something...

Can we just accept that the WTF-1 is SDF-1 cameo in MF....

Its one of the Macross Universe rule that SDF-1 makes a cameo (and some part of it will blew up) in all Macross franchise, let see:

    - Macross II (Alternate Universe), fate: Vaporized by Ingus Mobile Fortress, leaving the holy floating bridge.

    - Macross Plus, fate : Hijacked by renegade AI Sharon Apple, bridge and Macross Broadcast System heavily damaged by YF-19.

    - Macross 7: Did it make a cameo here?

    - Macross VFX-2, fate: Hijacked by renegade UN SPACY/Critical Path Corp, Sound Jamming system on the bridge destroyed by player.

    - Macross Frontier, fate: under heavy speculation by MW members and re-classified as WTF-1.

She was seen in Macross 7 Encore: Fleet of the Strongest Women, during a flashback.

  7. I'm not really going to bother addressing this, because like almost all the other speculation on this subject, people seem to prefer making tons of unfounded assumptions rather than just accepting the most likely explanation - that it IS the Macross. That's the most obvious answer going by Occam's Razor, rather than all this speculation.

You seem to be missing what I am saying. I agree it is the Macross, I am not saying otherwise. All I am saying based on theory and given the ship's history which has been stated and shown in canon. It just would not surprise me if they accidentially set off one more boobytrap. Until we see it on the next episode, we don't know why she's there.
