1. A round of applause goes to WICKEDPR1NCE, got my 1/60 VF-0S today and it is exactly as he has described. Definitely will do more transactions with this fine fella in the future (as my money will alow). :-)

  2. Just want to add another set of kudos for Kevin at the Valkyrie Exchange. I received a fedex box today containing my valk stand, 1/48 cannon fodder and my 1/48 gbp armor, yay! This is my 2nd time purchasing from Kevin and I am sooooo totally satisfied with the service. It is really to bad his store is no longer around, however, he will not be forgotten. THANKS AGAIN KEVIN!!! :D

  3. I think we should not generalize Americans or any other cultures as far as accepting different rules  and cultures.  I know of many Americans that are very respectful when it comes to adapting to other cultures' expectations and rules.  This is a common issue I have seen before especially when dealing with the internet.  It is not like we are walking into that seller's shop in his country and making the purchase if it was the case then it would be different because then the purchaser has immersion.  By that I mean he/she is physically there at that country and hopefully have the common sense to know how to deal with the local folks.  So what I am trying to say is it's a matter of misunderstanding and to generalize about Americans or anyone else is not necessary.  Also please not that I am not an American just being defensive, I'm Asian.

You're not American ? Because your profile says Virginia.

My opinion is that if somebody wants me to patronize their store or service then they should be polite, no matter where they're located. Otherwise screw'em. Too many other places selling the same exact shite to put up with that crap. Eventually they'll piss off enough people that they go under. If their entire service is to bid on items for non-Japanese people, then why would they expect to behave like one? They should rethink their business plan.

    364298

    Well technically I'm Asian-American.

    Peace.

  4. When American expections are requested, it comes off as pushy and is a turn off even for the business owners who are not used to providing up to the same level of service as in America.

Different culture, different rules, different expectations.

Can you really ask americans to accept different rules and cultures???

Don't think so, after all they really think they rule and own the world. MAybe that is why people from a small island will just not pay any attention to a USA customer requirements :p

  5. so, is this Arafat209 a real deal?

i've browsed ebay and found about three auctions from him:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Takatoku-GBP-1S-armor-...1QQcmdZViewItem

i was thinking about bidding...but after reading this thread...i don't know. should i just spend the cash on the 1/48 GBP armor?

he's had these same auctions about a month or two ago saying that he's selling the GBP armors in order to support his about to be born child or something like that ... any of you see that?

    348526

well lemme tell you about the tetsujin 28 auction. in robot-japan he posted that auction in the for sale section and one of the members noticed that the same picture he used was the same as an auction in yahoo-japan. arafat shot back with an explanation that he won that auction and is now selling it in ebay. problem is that yahoo auction ended on Nov. 28 and his ebay auction started in Nov. 26. This was his explanation to that:

"look i only going to explain this once i buy stuff on yahoo and then sell it in ebay or in my store , if an item is expensive i start selling it on ebay to see if it will make the price require ( by means i wont loose any money)

that is how many sellers do it . "

after a few exchanges (in which i got scolded by the forum moderator because i told arafat he was full of it) and after I posted a link to this thread to prove my point mr. arafat requested that the thread be locked. nevertheless i think the people there in robot-japan got the message, i hope he leaves there. but if any of you guys are members in robot-japan as well please help me in warning that community to get him off that forum as well.

    thanks.

  6. Just another update. Arafat aka as Mayita in robot japan is engaging me at a pissing war of words because of my warning posts. LOL! This guy is something else he says I am attacking him and insulting him when all I did was warn the members there. He keeps braggin about his ebay feedback which I told him is worthless when he still ripped off people over here. I hope postman pat is getting close to getting him arrested.

  7. Just want to know if anyone here is also a member at robot-japan. Reason being is Arafat under the guise of Mayita has posted stuff for sale at the robot-japan forum. I posted a warning for the members there but just to make sure they believe me about his reputation I thought I should ask for help here. If anyone here is also a member or would like to post at the robot-japan forum regarding dealings with Arafat to reinforce my warnings it would be greatly appreciated. I just do not want to see anyone from the other forum get ripped like the others in here. Thanks for your help.

  8. I primarily collect the Soul of Chogokin series and I would recommend that you get the SOC gx-13 Dancougar instead. It transforms and it is very detailed. I have one myself. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.

  9. If anyone has 2 spare knee covers for the 1/35 gakken alphas please let me know if you are willing to sell.  I am trying to replace the ones on a blue alpha that I recently got.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Have you placed these (recasts) on your alpha?

    333619

    Hi Alex,

No not yet, been very busy, but I will soon. They do look awesome though. I still owe you a feedback at the ssl list. Thanks again for the great work.

  10. I guess Santa came early this year. We let him have the Cannon Fodder this morning, and now he's going nuts. Thanks to Ronin777 for helping me out.

Glad I could help and glad your son is happy. I think I am keeping my vf-1a hikaru for my son when he's a bit older. :-) Thanks for the feedback as well. Enjoy!

  11. I hope I am posting on the right area. I have a problem with 2 1/35 Gakken Alpha's of mine. First one is on my green alpha, the piece of plastic that holds the spring on the knee cover somehow broke off and now the right knee cover stays down at all times when in battroid mode. I am asking the guys that have had experience with these alphas if I can possibly and safely open/unscrew the leg section and put it back together. Second and last is I have the 1/35 blue alpha and there are no knee covers they both appear to have been broken off. Is there a place that I can buy recasts (Rhobby perhaps?) to replace them? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

  12. Before any of you flame me, let it be known that my son is only 4 and can't read subtitles. I got him hooked on watching Robotech and now he won't stop asking for the toys that are shown on the DVDs.

So what I'm looking for are some transformable toys that I can buy for him at a good deal. I'm looking to spend maybe $30 on one, and it doesn't have to be in any perfect condition. I don't need a box, I don't need stickers, I don't need instructions, and I certainly don't want to shell out the money for a Yammie.

If you can help, let me know.

    324684

I got a vf-1a hikaru for sale, I sold the others at $35 plus shipping, let me know if this is ok for you.

    Thanks.

  13. Hello all,

I'm not on the staightshooters list because I haven't sold anything on MW before (I've bought a bunch!), however I have a good eBay rating.

    - Yamato YF-19 (2nd edition)

    - Yamato 1/48 VF-1S Hikaru Ichijo

    - Gakken 1/35 Blue Legioss / Alpha

    - and some other stuff

    eBay listings

Thanks for looking and happy bidding!

great! I've got my eye on the gakken alpha.

  14. I don't know how tacky it would look but what if you paint it silver first then black. I think it might give you a mirror effect but I am not sure. You may want to try it out on a small piece of glass first.

  15. Hi there,

have you tried online or ebay for it. Bandai re-issued this and its around the $50-60 range. What's your budget? Another place to check is robot-japan.com. I'm a member there and someone might be selling. I recommend joining the forum first before posting your wants. Good luck, I also collect the SOC line, I have the gx-01r (sorry not selling ) and it is a nice piece.
