1. Yeah they are the snap fit kits.

As for fragility, How so?   Cheap plastic?

    360497

They are models made of thin styrene plastic, they aren't sturdy toys.

    360654

I have a ton of gundam models so I am familliar with the blastic that Bandai

uses for kits. So far no I've suffered no breakages even after my MG

Gundam Speigel shelf dove last year.

How are they ugly? That is what has me intrigued.

  2. They do, however this has the (potentially) duboius honour of being their first transforming gokin figure. I'm very interested to see how well they can pull it off.

I've got some of their Guyver "Bio Fighter" figures and those are tip toppest

higghest of the high end of quality. I too hope they get it right.

  3. those white bbs 6mm like in airsoft?

    360169

Yeah I think they are the same but made of hard plastic.

The hopper holds the entire bag of shot and by God does throw them out at

velocity. I'm talking like across the room with all three weapons. There is

no way in hell that this thing would have passed safety laws in the us

unless the age on the box was like 10 and up.

    RE: The Gobots fate.

I agree that Tonka had blown it by the time this toy was released (1987) and

Hasbro/Marvel really knew what they were doing right out of the gate with

Transformers. Also when this toy came out I was like 13, which meant it would

not have aged nearly as well as the one I have now.

  4. Hey, Doctor Paragon- Do us a favor and don't bump a thread unless you actually have something to say.

    360287

    "I've got something to say!

    It's better to burn out,

    than fade away!"

    :p

Oh and I too am getting all sweaty in anticipation for the Garland.

Either, both, it don't matter which, I just want one finally. Even though in

my experience Max Factory has MUCH better QC.

    B))

  5. A few days ago I got a "virgin" MIB BH-05 "Arjetan" in from a seller in Japan.

All I have to say is "DAYUM!" It's a shame that Bandai didn't helm the

migration of their "Machine Robo" (Gobots) line here in the states because

this toy and his sidekick Machblaster (BH-02) kick major henkei tail.

I'll let the pics do the talking for me on this one:

    The item I received:

    The Weapon System with ammo:

    R. Jetter with Machblaster in gun mode:

    rjetan03.jpg

This thing is a piece of transformable art. It has three different shooting weapons

(That are battery powered and not at all pet or eye friendly...) and a remarkably well engineered transformation scheme especially in the legs. And last but hardly

least it stands as tall as a Yammie VF-1 1/48. So not only is well designed it is

    also freaking huge.

Next time I will post some pics of Machblaster.

    Till next time...

  6. I always wondered why no one shot robocop in the mouth...  Shooting him in the face with a shotgun was the firs thing I thought of when seeing everyone shooting at him ineffectively.

    346174

Robocop's face area is for public interaction. The "Skin" is plastic and his

"Crucial orgaincs" are protected within his armored skull and torso housings.

A shot to the mouth would really just make him uglier and piss him off.

    A lot.

  7. I found the parts set I mentioned in this thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=16606

I found it on Rakuten here: http://www.rakuten.co.jp/toy-nakagawa/616737/681889/

(It's the one at the bottom. It looks like this:

    post-2322-1131005811.jpg )

I need some help in geting this item since I don't read a

character of Japanese. I am willing to pay a "brokerage"

    fee if need be.

Any help offered will be greatly appreciated.

  8. Anybody here at Macross world remember seeing/posting some images from a

computer graphics magazine of transforming jet. The jet was gray and had very

stiltish legs, it also had some serious "real robot" design elements to it.

I've been searching and low and I'm just not making any progress here.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  9. Something I thought of last night that's been bugging me.

The stolen microwave device in the movie is designed to vaporize all water within it's area of effect, right?

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the human body made up of like 70% water?

So, if this is the case, wouldn't any humans within the effective range of the machine have been killed by it?

Sort of defeats the purpose of vaporising the city's water supply to spread the Scarecrow's hallucinogenic drug, if all the citizens are already dead  .

    Graham

The Microwave emitter in the film projects straight down.

The pipes in the ship burst because the piping in a ship is

all over the place. The device was made to cause problems

with an enemies water supply, which is generally in the

ground. If Batman had swung directly under the train he

most likely would have been screwed/cooked.

  10. However, while I am very impressed with his ideas and engineering, I'm not particularly impressed with his choice of materials or the fit and finish of the final products.

Much of it appears to be painted cardboard, and poorly painted at that.  They'd be excusable as boilerplate mock-ups for figuring out how it should go together and to get a rough idea of how it will look, but as a final product being sold for hundreds of dollars they're nowhere near up to snuff.

It's corugated(Sp?) styrene, and yes the paint job could be tighter.

Yes, the small wheels really spoil the vehicle mode.

I have the same preference for accurate vehicle mode for any transforming toy (which is why the Yamato 1/48 VF-1 is so cool IMHO). The Binaltechs must be your favourite transformers then? Problem is that their 'robot' mode is gawdawful...just look at them from the back! Ughhhh...

How can MP-Convoy be held in fair comparrison to a 1/48 Valk?

A Valk is as accurate a transformation as say one of the "Cybertronian vehicles"

after the third series of TF's. The Valkyrie mecha vehicle mode was designed

to transform into a robot. And you can tell as much when it is in fighter craft

mode. MP-Convoy(prime) transforms about as well a valk. Yet MPC prime

transforms into a "de-branded" COE semi truck (Based of the old Kenworth in

the original toy). The truck matches no known semi cab. Just like the Valk

it is fictional truck that resembles a series of real life vehicles.
