I just opened mine and did a preliminary QC check. Things look okay so far, but haven't really transformed it or put it through its paces yet.

I do think the wing design is a significant step back though. For some reason, Arcadia didn't bother putting a single locking tab on them. I thought the floppy wings were the most problematic area of the Yamato, so I'm baffled why they chose not just to leave it as before, but even removed the old locking tab. I can definitely see this becoming floppy in the future, making it undisplayable in fighter mode.

While I'm sorry to hear/see all those Q.C. issues some are experiencing, I'm relieved I didn't proceed to purchase this valk. Indeed, for $400+, this definitely should not be happening. I'm wondering if this will contribute to an eventual decline in cost for the figure, assuming stores don't run out of stock.

    Thanks guys appreciate the updates.

Hopefully, we get something new beyond PF and reissue nonsense.

    Agreed.

Cosmetically speaking, Arcadia's SV-51 doesn't look any different than Yamato's, down to the shallow white intakes.

  3. I'm really tempted to preorder this bird but I'm having difficulty justifying the exorbitant cost. It doesn't even seem much different than it's older counterpart.  Does anyone think this valk will be hard to purchase after it's release date?

Btw, just so we're clear, unlike the original Yamato figure, no display base is included, correct?

  4. Thanks for the fast replies! As a US resident living in the east coast I guess it would've been damn near imposible to procure this particular valk considering I was fast asleep. Was anyone able to successfully pre-order one(or more)?
