  1. haha, nice. 70 is not bad for it. I noticed it's placed in a different area in two separate pictures. Is it the same one or does he have two of the orguss in box? I went to their website to check out stuff and none of the stuff that's pictured is on their website! Their site kinda sucks too. It's so confusing and the super valk they have on there doesn't even have a price on it. So what did you buy and how much was it?

It is the same one. I picked it up and looked at it. The owner explained that he does a lot of conventions. Part of the reason I stayed at the store so long was that he had a lot of stuff still in brown boxes that he used to carry them around. We looked in some of the boxes for stuff that I asked about but at some point I had bought enough stuff and had run out of time. I am not suprised that he doesn't have the best stuff on his website. the desireable toys are se well priced I am sure they sell so quickly that he doesn't bother to put it on his website. He also had toys piled behind the cash register that he had purchased and had not yet put out on the floor or put prices on that he let me look at. I did not really go on the website because I knew I would be in Sacramento and could go to the physical store and save on shipping.

I bought a Toynami Beta fighter for $140. Althought his is a new piece I had wanted this toy in some form for 20 years. I couldn't fit anything else on the plane. I think part of the reason I remember the store so fondly is how excited and dissapointes I was at the same time because I saw all this stuff that there is absolutely no way I could get it on the plane with me. I wanted to buy the Orguss Orgroid for $70 and a sentinal by McFarlane (from the matrix/HUGE) for $25. But there was no way I could get them on the plane Grrr!! I even had to throw some older shoes away for my luggage to fit in the overhead compartment. I was going through the airport carrying a ripping bag with the huge box for the Beta Fighter and rolling my luggage behind me.

  2. I went on a business trip and found a vintage toy store in Sacramento, CA. I have never in my life seen so many vintage toys in one place. It was like I was in Japan or something. Macross, Godaikins, Orguss, transformers...It took me a while to take it all in. When I forst walked in I had sensory overload because the place is packed floor to cieling with toys. The place is not exactly small and is still filled with toys. If you live in or around Sacramento California and love cool toys you owe it to yourself to go to this store. The name of the store is Toy Fusion. you can go to Toyfusion .com for the address and more information. If you go in this store and have money you will not come out of the store not having found something awesome to purchase.

Here are some pictures...I cannot guarantee that these items are still in stock. I left with some of them! The owner is Andrew and he is a real nice guy.

    The adress is

    1901 El Camino Ave

    Sacramento, CA

    Happy hunting!

  3. I am leaving on Sunday and will be in the Sacramento/SanFransisco area Monday through Thursday and for a short time on Friday. Is Franks and Sons close to where I will be? Is it like a flea market for cool stuff in a big steel building? I am going to try to get over there. Is Franks and Sons open during the week?

    Must get macross stuff!

Any other places better than Franks and Sons in the area or should I not even waste my time. someone told me about a place in Sacramento called Toyfusion. I will likely check it out since it is so close.

  4. My Green Mospeada Gakken Alpha fighter and Ride Armour guy....and any other toys I could carry out or throw out the door.

I really like these molds and they are much rarer than many of my other macross and transformers toys whicj could be replaced.

I agree with lives first. This would all come after I made sure my family was out safely and I was not risking my life to save the toys.

  5. 1. VA-3 Invader. The most unique looking variable aircraft in all of macross!

    Please make one

    2. VF-4 Lightning and VF-5000 would also be winners. I like how yamato is going for valkries that look different than the standard VF-1 Valkrie. Like the SV-51. Now give me a VA-3 and I would be very happy.

    3. An awe inspiring large SDF-1 with lots of detail and poseability would make all the other toy companies jealous.

  6. http://photos.yahoo.co.jp/ph/horton1485/ls...c=ph&.view=

Already done in Japan with the Hasegawa SV-51. Yamato just needs to employ the fellow that coverted the model kit. PLEASE!!!! B))

Finally a variable airframe that could be made into a new toy that is unique and stands out as being somewhat different from the standard VF, 19, and 21 toys. I love the VF, 19 and 21 toys but at some point I just want something new, cool and original. The SV-51 in those pictures looks totally awesome and if Yamato made one I would snap it up faster than a tornado picks up a trailer.

Now Yamato.....bring on the 1/60 SV-51 AND the VA-3 Intruder. And throw in the SDF-1 while your'e at it.

    I thank you.

We need some sort of code language with Graham so that we can communicate new stuff and not anger the powers that be at Yamato...

  7. I get mostly positive reactions. My collection is displayed in a nice glass and wood cabinet with a sliding glass door. I think sometimes the difference between an appreciative reaction or a negative reaction has a lot to do with how the collection is presented.

For those that completely don't get it...It is not so much a matter of them thinking less of me as I think less of them. I honestly think to myself .."what kind of person is unable to find anything cool about these things that are so cool?"

Then I throw them out of my house!

  8. I am glad Yamato is going to do the YF-19 in 1/60 scale. But....the toy has already been done by Bandai. It was far from perfect but fine for me.

I would like Yamato to do give us something new and exciting like the VF-5000 or the VF-4 lightning. If they did something radical like the VA-3 invader I would pass out with joy. Of the VF-17 Nightmare or the YF-19 I would have preferred that they redo the VF-17. If they did a VF-17 nightmare that the plane mode was dark blue or black and looked excaclty like the stealth fighter that would be awesome! Don't get me wrong, I 'm glad they are doing the YF-19. I am just interested in something that has not already been done as a toy.

  9. I have money to buy some toys for a change. I am considering the Koenig Monster. I remember less than ecstatic reviews back when it came out. I personnaly was very excited to see the toy come out , but the reviews describing pegs that may pop off over time and no knee joints in robot mode kind of softened my desire for the toy.

Can anyone give me the lowdown on is this a "buy" or a "pass" toy?

I only have a certain amount of money and I don't want to spend it on a toy that I am not going to be happy and proud of.

    Thanks in advance. :)

  10. Mine broke too. Recently, I just tried to pose it in battroid and the leck didn't even "pop" like most plastic does....the leg just kind of fell off!?!?

And people say the MPC quality is crappy!! No offense to you MPC haters... I am just venting too. It stinks when a toy you spend $60-$70 on basically falls apart on you. <_<

I really like the design of the vf-11b. Oh well, I put the leg back on and transformed it to plane mode and have it diplayed on it's good side. I may attempt to permanently fix it when I can take time from the other ten thousand things I need to get done.

  11. I picked up my VF-11B for the first time in a year and the leg just kind of dropped off in my hand.

There was no pop or crunch that one usually hears when a part breaks on a plastic toy.

Does anyone know where to get a replacement part? I am wondering if I might be better off to just buy the fastpack version.

But I want my $$ to go toward newer toys, not to replace toys I have already bought. <_<

Anyone got any help for me?

  12. Thanks for the advice Haterist and Fulcy.

Looks like 3/8 inch for me.

I hate to spend toy money on glass for a display case...but if one of the shelves failed all the shelves under that shelf would fail as well.

Must protect awesome collection from being trashed! :)

After I get the display set up I will take pictures and post them.

  13. There is a furniture store that is closing around my house.

They had a Huge curio/display cabinet with real wood and a sliding glass door. Originally $850...it had a mirror in the back lower half that is cracked and is missing the shelves.

I offered them $100 and they said OK :o Hooray!

What does the thickness of the glass need to be in order to not break under the weight of many toys?

The shelf will be 40 inches long and 14 inches deep.

I have heard 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch.

    1/4 inch - about $28 each shelf

    3/8 inch - about $50 each shelf

    1/2 inch - didn't ask

I want to buy the 1/4 inch because of the cost. But will 1/4 inch hold up under die cast valkries and huge Koenig Monsters?

Especially since the glass will be long and only supported on either end?

    Help? :(

  14. Sounds like Graham and Yamoto both acted in good faith but circumstances just riuned a good thing.

At least we had the insisde scoop for a period of time. Better than never having it at all.

Who knows, perhaps at some point the individuals that were friends at Yamoto will feel free to contact Graham again. I am sure they wil be well recieved.

  15. Hooray! The Konig Monster has knees that bend. This was also the big hangup for me.

My birthday is in February. I shall be getting one of these. :)

The size compared to the 1/48 Valkrie is very impressive. This thing may have won Toy of the Year over at Toyboxdx if it would have been released before 12/15.

After seeing those pics of this toy...I am more excited than I have been in a long time. This toy seems to be as cool as MPC Prime or SOC Dancouga. And those toys are tops in my book.

Someone else mentioned Fortress Maximus.....Man I have got to get that toy. It is huge! ;)
