  1. Nanashi's site is doing the subs.

Edit: Post modified. Sorry about that.

Oh yeah!?? So is he going to put his watermark across the screen and act like he owns it and is the creator?? You know like he does with ALL Macross pictures he puts on his site?

Pretty much and arroganly blends the groups credits into the shows credits. Like it's gonna raise them any money or give them copyright abilitys. But I could give a rats ass about who's doing the subs as long as it's remotly understandable. And I firmly believe only a small handful of people actually give a poo either.

Ummmm, I really don't think Nanashi on Macross World has anything to do with Nanashi the fansub group....and just have to say that most fansub groups blend in their credits with the show's. I'm pretty sure it's not about raising money or rights or anything, it just looks better.

  2. Just have to say ANA__, that what he originally paid for the YF-19 has nothing to do with how much it is worth now. Buyers are willing to pay $1000 for it, so wouldn't he be unwise to sell it for less?

Let's put it this way, if you bought a $15000 Pontiac Sunfire (if you don't know what that is, it's a very common car) in 2000, would you expect to sell it for the same price as you got it at, now? Even if you never drove it and it was in perfect factory condition, would a buyer be unreasonable to offer half the amount to buy it now? If you think it is, then you would never sell your car because everyone else who has that car is selling it for half of the original price.

Going the other way, a car bought in 1940 and kept in mint condition would probably be worth a lot of money to a collector, wouldn't you agree? If you had one of these classic cars and know a collector will buy it for $80000, would you offer to sell it for less then $1000 because that was the original price paid? My guess is that you would ask for the $80K that you know it is worth today, and not the $1000 it WAS worth when it was bought.

A price is only unreasonable if no one is willing to spend the amount to buy the product.

Sorry bout the long post, got going there a bit....

  3. It has almost everything the 19 series has, except the rearward facing anti-aircraft laser.  Downside is that you need fast-packs to hold a gunpod.  Bonus, you get two gunpods when you have fast-packs! :D Second downside is letting your mind wander... Like:

"Oh wouldn't it be funny if I launched a nuke towards that annoying idol singers concert?" [FWOOOM, nuke gets launched because the valkyrie picked up on the stray thought]

Actually, the 21 did have a rear-ward facing AA laser, it was that yellow, antenna-like thing sticking out of its head in battroid mode, and behind the cockpit in fighter/GERWALK mode. Not to mention that its other two lasers can be fired backwards in fighter mode too. Another thing, the 21 didn't need FAST packs to carry its gun pods, they were fixed onto hard points on the leg covers.

But yeah I agree with you that the 21 is a great valk, but my vote has to go with the 22. All the pluses, well not ALL, but a lot of the pluses and great looks of the 21 with a few extras...

  4. They probably didn't had to deal with any copyright issues...I'm pretty sure you can't copyright a superpower.

If a superpower could have been copyrighted, comic book publishers would have been sueing each other for years...

  5. With reaction power plants, wouldn't destroids make use of SWAG energy converting armor? I'm not too sure if destroids actually used that armor, but with all that extra energy produced by the reactor it would make sense. If they did utilize SWAG armor, that coupled with the greater mobility of the front line destroids, destroids would have a much greater advantage over tanks. Even if tanks could spot and shoot first I'm pretty sure the Destroid could just shrug off anything the tank could throw at them, until it could locate the tank and deploy its ordinance...or close the distance and step on the tank

  6. Easy: Holes for future GBP armor to lock into in battroid mode. :D

Given the skinny anorexic look of the battroid, the armor would help prevent it from splitting in half if a zentradi got close enough to rip apart its skinny frame.

As the fighters becomes smaller and more agile, battroids become thin and fragile.

I used to think though that these might have been flame throwers for heating up giant chickens for zentradi soldiers to eat when there was no camp fire on the field. Similar to how the gunpod could be used to light giant cigarettes. Ones used for space would have the boobs removed. But if a one-to-one britai style hand to hand fight ever happened and ammo was scarce or the gunpod was knocked from the hand, the chest flame thrower would act as a surprise weapon for in-close combat to avoid being thrown around.

You're right about the fighters becoming more agile, but smaller? They definitely aren't getting smaller, aren't they getting bigger as they go? The VF-19/YF-19 is quite alot bigger then the VF-1 and I'm pretty sure that a 19 could handle itself alot better in a fist fight with a zentradi.

  7. Also since we're on the subject of "what is THAT?"...

Can anyone tell me what the highlighted green part on the head does?

I say powerfull headmounted infrared spotlight for complete darkness situations. better than the 2 shoulder lights on the vf-1.

second guess would be a directional speaker so basara can sing before sound booster was invented.

ps i know sound doesn't travel in space but in the mac7 universe it does.

Actually, I think the speaker pod guns are there precisely beause sound DOESN'T travel in space.

Of course, Minmay just used the radio...

    read the ps duh.

For the mac7 universe is slightly off, hence all the speakers that are built on the sound force valks and the sound boosters.

just to note im not a mac7 fan ;) *kicks keith as he tries to hop in*

Those speakers in the sound force valks were there for use in an atmosphere, I'm pretty sure they weren't ever used in space. As for the sound boosters, those had more to do with energy then with sound....

    Figured you weren't a Mac 7 fan :)

  8. Are you sure about the SV-51 not having chest cannons?  I thought they were used when that one 51 ripped a hole into Asuka II and shot up some of the crew...But then again I haven't seen zero in a while and could be wrong about what that SV-51 used.

Those guns are actually located on the side of his legs where the blue arrows are pointing in the picture. ;)

    I stand corrected. :)

  10. FYI Azrael I was being sarcastic.

Obvioulsy the Phyos is a Zentreadi designed variable fighter based on the existing VF-11 prototype. If the Zentreadi can reverse-engineer a VF-11's transformation capabilities to make a terrifying fighter craft, what's stopping them from reverse-engieering a VF-19P and making something dangerous to even -19s and -22s?

Just to tell you, the Phyos matched up quite well against VF-19's and 22's. I think the Compendium stated that it could match or even surpass the capabilities of the 19 and 22.

  11. I think I played operation flashpoint or it's demo or something, and I remember having to control vehicles with the mouse and keyboard. I'm not sure if that's right, but in your mod will you be able to fly a valk (or control any vehicle for that matter) with a joystick and throttle?

  12. Hikaru was not a showboat, in the TV series he seemed very responsible and never tried to go out of his way to impress anyone while he flew, well from what I can remember anyways.  He also had to be responsible because Max and Kakizaki were put under him.  But I'm not sure if he was good enough to take Roy's instructor.

Well, think about Hikaru's VERY FIRST appearance in SDF Mac. That's him showing off right there.

True, he was showing off then, but I was talking more about his valk piloting.

  13. I also wonder how Isamu, Max, or Hikaru would handle Ivanov if THEY were in the VF-0S. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.  ;)

The showboat Isamu and Hikaru would get their ass kicked, Only Max is good enough to fight someone equal or better than Roy.

Isamu was a showboat, but he was also a very good (and very lucky) fighter pilot. If he was all show, Isamu would have been dead a long time ago. I think he could hold his own against Ivanov.

And then there's Max who could definately take Ivanov.

  14. Is Edgar dead?

I could've sword I saw his parachute from episode three, but when Shin finds his 0D in the jungle Shin calls out his name?

Then a bunch of birds and snakes crawl out of the canopy with some spruts of dark brown liquid and he tells Sara not to look.

I was watching the raw, so maybe I'm wrong. What went on in that scene?

That's not his VF-0D, just another one that was downed. Shin was just calling out to see if the pilot of the zero was still alive and say that he was an ally.

  15. The VF-1X maybe able to reach escape velocity, I'm not to sure about that either, but I'm pretty sure the VT-1C in Dynamite wouldn't have been upgraded. I'm thinking only VF-1's that were still being used by the UN forces would be upgraded to VF-1X's.

  16. Well, just watched the episode and gotta say it was good, but I definitely wouldn't want to be a Cheyenne pilot. I mean their life expectancy in battle is so very low. Granted, I didn't expect them to stand up that well in battle against SV-51's, but against other destroids they were getting plastered. It looked like they couldn't even take out one of those amphibious destroids that landed on the beach... I wonder how other Destroids would fair in the conditions the Cheyenne was put in, I'm thinking that if Tomahawks or Sparans were guarding that island they could have maybe held it, or at very least taken out a couple of those enemy destroids...

  17. Geeze been a while since I posted last...Damn, lost my incredibly huge post count of 80 accumulated over a couple years! :p

Anyways, yeah the YF-19 did fire its lasers, I'm pretty sure it did anyways. It was during the second episode of the OAV, when the YF-19 and 21 were going through all those tests, it flew by shooting both the lasers and its gunpod (maybe other times but I don't remember any right now).

I pretty sure it is the stock that is the clip for the GU-15. When Isamu and Guld are fighting in the fourth episode, Isamu reloads right before the 21 bursts through the building 19 was using as cover. And I'm pretty sure the stock falls off when he does reload.
