Just changed my displays.....
Pardon the grainy photos I'm too lazy to take out my SLR today.

Thanks for all the comments on the REVOs,
I had fun and fustration while posing these little guys.
Still I think they are worth the effort as we can pose them in all sorts of stylish to funny actions.

Time for REVOS
Group shots of the VF-1(s).
VF-1J as NEO in MACTRIX...!
Jogging or Running? I cannot tell.
VF-1A Kung Fu version.
Hikki goes for the tackle..!
Looks Familiar???

I do agree that the color is a bit over done on yellow, desert dust won't stick on a fighter and it does look like it's been abondoned for quite a while. In real life, the fighter jet will have patchy color difference and typical brushed weathered on wing.
Thanks for your input Vi-RS...I will take that into consideration and use it on my next 'project'
Do you have any pictures where the weathering is more clearly seen?
The F-14 here is kinda dark on the grey I cannot see it well.
One of a fellow Macross asked about getting the weathering on the hands???
No I did not seal it with any clear coat...I am sure if i handle it too much the weathering will attached to my hands.

A couple thoughts on the weathering (and I've never been so brave so you can dismiss them as coming from someone with no experience):
1) The brownish color seems wrong, that makes me think it's a rusty/dirty plane rather than a worn one.
2) Should missiles be weathered? Wouldn't they be added on and removed for every mission (and probably with a fairly short lifespan).
Hi,
let me try to give a little thoughts of my weathered 'scheme'
The brown was chosen because I wanted to give the VF-1S a out of the sand storm look, i was wondering should i weather the missiles however if the Valk came out from a sand storm with them.....then they should carry the same sand blast effect.
SchizophrenicMC thanks for point out the wing mount.....I just checked my valk i remembered i gave the wing mount some sand however i did not show up on the photos!
After all its my PnS camera maybe it did not capture the tones because of the low light.
Thanks for the comments both, keep them coming.

That weathering looks great. Did you use the Tamiya pack?
Thanks, and you are correct I used the Tamiya pack as it looks like the easiest way to go.

Hi All,
I have kept this VF-1S in mint condition for over 4 years and have decided to 'CUSTOMISE' it.
It's my 1st try on weathering so any comments are most welcomed.
With Fast Pack:
The Fast Pack was weathered too however due to the poor lights and dark tone of the FP the 'dusting' cannot be seen very clearly.

that's the really secret to good photography. take as many photo's as you can because you're going to toss out about 95% of them.
Hmmm.... I beg to defer....
Trigger happy might get you some good shots but wasting 95% of your camera's shutter life....I am not sure.

Nice pics and cool poses. How did you end up with a yellow SMS stand base? My RVF-25 has an all black base. Did you customize the base or is this a different scale? These appear to the be same as the 1/60 scale DX I have.
Hi, These are DX 1/60. Customized using yellow stickers.

After a battle with evil alien forces, the 3 Valks return VICTORIOUS!
As the welcome party cheers our 3 heroes home:
YF-19: Come brothers in arms it's time to celebrate our victory.
YF-21 & VF-11:Yeah, you got it man...!
YF-21: What the hell is the stench...?
VF-11: Oh man you getting the feel of too huh...?
YF-19: Come brothers, soak it in...!
YF-21 & VF-11: oooohhhhhh............
Knock out the competition, use Rexona.
Sorry about the crappy write-ups, anyone with a better idea pls feel free to add on...!

After 2 weeks of 'displaying' my SMS squad on the dining table I finally found time to pose and do a photo session.

Sorry for a trivial question... What're oracle stickers?
I did try to google... but didn't see anything that seems to be relevant.
Your works are amazing!
Thanks,
Oracle is a brand name....
Those are Vinyl stickers I am using.
I cannot find the orcale website however I came across another brand.
http://www.alibaba.com/product/teckseng-10...r_Stickers.html
You should be able to get it from art & crafts shops.

Hi Graham & Rider R,
I used yellow oracle stickers for the yellow sections of the SMS logos.
I did not use any templates, I pasted a section of the stickers onto the base and cut it to shape.
If you intend to do so i might suggest using a very sharp blade( I used a 30 degree penknife blade), I think a craft knife might be good too.
Be careful not to press too hard as it is easy to scratch the base.
Someone suggested that u could trace the logo onto the stickers then cut to shape, it sounds workable.
I thought it might just be easy if you scanned it.
Good Luck

I picked up my Alto's Fast Pack 2 weeks ago, and last Sunday I finally managed to panel lined the FP and applied the Yellow stickers on the base.
I am so glad that my SMS squad is finally completed.
-
Thanks for all the kind comments,
These Vinyl stickers are sold in art shops...another idea will be painting/printing a plain white sticker yellow then apply and cut as seem fit.
-
Looks like yellow tape/adhesive of some sort...
***EDIT***
Yes I agree, that's how Bandai should have done it. Unfortunately they probably thought ahead and said too many people would notice the easy scratch-able paint; scrapped the idea saving themselves the money and complaints.
YES... You have very sharp eyes.
The SMS logo were covered with Yellow Vinyl stickers then cut to shape.

I have thought of it for sometime.....3 weeks ago I decided to modify the stand of my VF-259(s)
Even my Alto stand has been modded and Ozama is next this weekend.
Comments are welcomed.

my god......the color error is terrible.... how is bandai QC ready to accept this....
I was so happy that its out now but when i look back 1 page i was shocked, i wouldn't dare to buy 1 now.

They also bend upwards on the 1/72 and 1/100. What's your point?
No...The 1/100 and 1/72 have straight and nice wings.
In fact I think they did a fantastic job on the 1/72.
1/100 is a toy and it's done quit nicely if one does not mind parts swapping.
Yet the flaws appears on the most expensive versions of the VF-25, thats my point.

Looks like the wings still bend upwards.

That's very nice work.
I'm interested too, when will the price be out?
