  1. CAD designing may be accurate in designing a accurate model but what happen to the good old days like the old star wars movies.

From the new cgi perspective . The newest stuff doesn't look realistic like the first star wars. They used real models designed with the artists hand without the help of cad. Cad just allows you to design stuff faster and accurate but sometimes the porportions may look right on the computer but doesn't look right in real life model in front of your eyes.

I think the ultimate details is far more superior in 1/48 scale due that it was sculpted and designed in a way by molded clay.

No kidding. Those old 1/48 kits were beautiful in their own right, but still had some minor flaws IMO. I'm not saying Hasegawa's are 100% perfect, but with CAD designing these days the "accuracy" is getting better and better.

I had so much fun building the 1/72 kits, and I can't wait for the 1/48's. I just hope they release every option they've done so far and more.

To add to the comment above, I'm also hoping that they don't release the kit as a single variant (IE: VF-1A only). I'm really hoping that they release the kits with all the head types (A,J,S).

And as a side note: I can't wait to see what everyone builds. Especially Captain and WM Cheng.

  2. Its a modified version where he cut up some parts and stucks some parts together. Thats why it doesn't look dead on. The head is not suppose to be connected to the joint on the head but this one is connected becasue he must of puttied it and recasted it. The leg parts are exactly the same. He glued the fins which are white metal and then recasted the kit as a 1/100 kit.

I actually have the Hobby Base Repttu kit vf-2SS and it is not cast from that one that is for sure. The head is a different sculpt as well and all the other parts are not the same size or shape. The Repttu kit is a bit smaller than this kit, this kit is actually non-scale even though it says 1/100 since it is in a anime pose.

I'll get you the HK address. I'm guessing this kit was made back in the early 90's and back then most fan licensed or unlicensed kits had pretty badly illustrated instructions.

  3. Whoever tried to pawn it off as a original kit. This is hobby base repttu kit vf-2SS. This kit was taken and parts were recasted to sell in the HK market. Don't buy it . Just go find a original. Sadly the original needs lots of modifications to complete. The original comes with no instructions and all parts may not fit correctly. The correct way is to find some small joints from revoltech or kotobukiya and that kit should look amazing.

  4. I just purchased a yf-19 a year ago and I just recently looked at it. There is no instructions. They have a website but its down. Does anyone have the instructions so I can build this painful awful bad casted original kit. I dont' deal with recasts but this kit looks like one due to the quality.
