  1. Is it painted or mate coated? Looks to me that some parts are and other aren't..

actually both..some parts i had to paint 'coz of frosting due to matte coating. i had to strip the matte coat with thinner, resulting to discoloration of the plastic. thus, i had to paint it with the nearest possible color of rattle spray i could find. i actually got a lot of tips here in the forums. thanks for all the help haha!

  2. It held 'OK' out of the box. If I shook the toy a little it would dislodge, but it would at least hold together on display. After two or three thransformations it gave out completely, as I noticed one day when I looked at the shelf and the poor guy was doubled over bakward in a rather painful looking pose. I took the assembly apart to see if anything was cracked, broken, worn, put together wrong, but everything looked fine. Either the 'clip' part of the connector is too far apart or the peg is off just enough to not work.

One coat of nail polish fixed it perfectly.

Keep in mind this seems to be a somewhat uncommon problem as most people report their pegs hold perfectly. Uncommon or not, it still sucks and I hope my next one doesn't suffer from it.

what happened to your 25g reminded me of my 2002 chunky max. i just keep it in the box because everytime i transform it, i just end up getting pissed off. the peg that locks the pack part of the battroid to the canopy is rally loose. i can't even hear a clicking sound when i press it inwards. oh well..a story of unfortunate blue bandai valks hehe

  3. Yeah, it ain't cheap wherever I go. At the V-Mall in Greenhills, the DX VF-25S is going for PHP8,900. But the worst example of price gouging is at the Hong Kong Airport, where one of the Duty Free shops has a Yamato 1/60 VF-1J (2.0 without FAST Pack) for HK$1,180.

You guys should try getting Valks here in SG from the local shops (if you happen to drop by). They're relatively cheap compared to other shops around. I got my DX alto for 200sgd/6200php/12800yen. This price excludes the shipping fees that usually discourage me from ordering online. I even get discounts through preorders. Just one of the perks of residing here. I just preordered my armored 25s for 280sgd. I can't wait for June!

  4. hey gee.....i assume ur a "kabayan" from the word pogi......hehehehe....i do also look for good bargains in csc...try u-toys......alternatvely u can go to excelsior shoping cntr basement...besides funan....some good bargains can be also found there....btw wat scale do collect?

hey guys! was glad to hear that there are quite a number of pinoys here in sg collecting macross..

i usually order from Mikelz at Lucky Chinatown, usually cheaper than the rest that is. you just have to join their mailing list to get really good prices. hmm, haven't been to that excelsior shop, better drop by one of these days. hehe

this hobby is so addicting specially 'coz of the upcoming releases from the 1/60 ver.2 line and frontier stuff from bandai..waaahhh..hard to resist!!
