Walt Disney Pictures announced that Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is in the works. Johnny Depp has already confirmed his return as Captain Jack Sparrow; how much he'll earn for this is currently unknown. Geoffrey Rush will also reprise his role as Captain Hector Barbossa. For this project, Disney hands the director's chair to Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg, the duo behind the Academy Award nominated film Kon-Tiki. Shortly after the release of At World's End, the last (and weakest) of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, there have been talks of a possible fourth Pirates film. So far, here are the details gathered over the past year: * The new film will be a loose adaptation of the 1988 Tim Powers novel On Stranger Tides.
