  1. Awesome work, Dan. Been following it for some time. Thanks for being an inspiration for me
  2. Still using 3ds MAX, Chilly Sorry, for the lack of updates - still waiting for the package. I'm starting to get nervous about it, it was supposed to arrive by now. Made a hand during my work week (which wasn't full of work, luckily) but I forgot to bring the file home, so unfortunately I can't show anything.
  3. Nice work! No, I don't have this model, making my own from scratch, if that's what you mean.
  4. Oh, you have no idea how much I'm looking forward to seeing it done I appreciate every comment. It's part of what keeps me motivated. Small update. I will make a break at this point: Parts of the upper leg shape are closely related to the shoulders in jet mode and to the body in general and I have no clue about the exact form or dimensions so I will have to pause for a few days and wait for the damn package to finally arrive. Don't mind the somewhat lousy work on some of the small parts, like the inner part of the knee, for example. I do not intend such close-ups but I don't want the surface to look uniform if the camera catches it so I add things to make it look like there's some mechanisms, service hatches and stuff like that. Considering that I model every bit instead of drawing textures, no way am I crazy enough to make it look something like this: Hmm... On second thought, I can do it... nah, I kid.
  5. Thanks guys! I'm waiting for the actual YF-29 to arrive in the next few days. For now I'm using lots of screenshots and vf-25 toy. I reckon vf-25 and yf-29 have a lot of similar parts so I work on these for now. Poor vf-25. Dismembered and disassembled.
  6. Thanks. By the way, sorry for the blog link instead of a dedicated thread here - most of my friends, who follow my project don't know about this site or about macross in general.
  7. Hello, fellow macross fans. I'm modeling the YF-29 valkyrie and I have a blog dedicated to this project here http://backfacing.blogspot.com/ I invite you to check it out and follow my progress
  8. I haven't seen any blueprints for this one... I'm not sure about how the few parts transform...
  9. I'm also trying to pay attention to the small details and animation bits in my work like for example this part of legs below. Not sure if it's movable in "reality" but I thought it would be cool to make it.
  10. Thanks, all. I'm using 3ds Max in all my work. Used mental ray with mostly default settings to render this one. I cant find the decal layout so this might take some time Have to work a bit on geometry too as now it's missing a few small details here and there (like some mechanics in arms) and I need to tweak some proportions (arms being too thin for my taste for example).
  11. Sorry for double post. The forum was lagging. Not sure how to delete this.
  12. I've been lurking these forums, being a fan of everything that transforms and Macross theme especially and decided to say hello to everyone. Also I wanted to share with a little something I was working on for some time now. Unfortunately I don't have that much time at the moment to finish everything I've planned for this work so it's still in progress. I'd be grateful for any critics, suggestions and feedbacks. Right now this model has no rig, no textures, just a basic object connection chain for simple transform animation, and some basic color materials. I was wondering if someone had a detailed decal images so I could start working on texturing it.
