aurance Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Hmm, it looks… fine? With a couple trade-offs, if anything it’s a testament to how well Yamato did 14 years ago. Quote
Chronocidal Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Yeah, the comparison of the neck alignment is interesting actually. I don't think either looks bad at all there, they're both far superior to the old original YF-19 from Yamato. I also don't think that photo of he Arcadia VF-19 is doing it many favors, the nose actually looks droopier than it should be. Animation-wise though, I actually think the Bandai gets closer to the art. The Yamato looks closer to the YF-19 in general, but I think a lot of the art in Macross7 is closer to the DX profile. They keep getting so close it's really hard to pick any major benefits between one or the other. Quote
ArchieNov Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I just received my 2nd copy of this valk. It has better hip joints, but it has some weird alignment issue in the flap for the neck cover that prevents it from sitting flat while in battroid mode. If only there was a way for me to swap the lower half of my older copy with the newer one, I'd have a perfect valk lol. Quote
sh9000 Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Quite a few available on Mandarake for anyone looking but for me I think I'm still skipping it. Quote
MKT Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago It's kinda weird how DX's front nose in Fighter looks better than Arcadia's for the Kai, but over to the YF-19, I prefer Arcadia's droop over the DX. Quote
aurance Posted 35 minutes ago Posted 35 minutes ago I’m curious to see how they’ll do the VF-19F/S. There are two pretty different wing line art shapes. Yamato leaned into one version; will Bandai do the same shape, or the more delta shape? (I’m fine with either, just curious) Quote
